What happened in Turkish football today? 04.10.2017
Clubs Union requests to change system of banning supporters for anti-disciplinary actions.
Club's Union CEO Dursun Ozbek has stated today that there are unhappy with how some disciplinary decisions by Professional Football Disciplinary Committee has been decided especially focusing into banning whole supporters rather than specific personalities.
With technology improving at stadiums and its becoming much more easier to identify specific people who done undisciplinary actions among fans became easy, Professional Football Disciplinary Committee carries on punishing either whole fans or section of fans which has raised lots of argument from clubs and supporters. Main problem here that one person whose done would lead for hundreds to pay price for that. Club's Union CEO Dursun Ozbek made it clear that this issue would be discussed at the meeting with Turkish Football Federation in near future as this needs to go through revision at the upcoming future. In addition to that, Ozbek has stated that the works of future plans of introducing Video-Assistance Referee (VAR) to Turkish leagues should be informed and updated to the club's CEO so their would be kept informed.
Meanwhile, this statement by today certainly has also shown areas which has been discussed by
Clubs Union meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as those issues has been discussed among economical issues of clubs in general.
Besiktas plans to make big investments into Brasilian market.
Besiktas CEO Fikret Orman and administrator Metin Albayrak has travelled to Brasil from last week to find a pilot team at the country rather than having some transfer negotiations with number of players as originally has been thought by media.
Besiktas CEO Fikret Orman has been stated several times since last season that it is important to spread its influence to the world and aiming to work with other countries to move the team into forward and become world class club. One of those aims is to do financial investment to those countries, work with clubs at making them pilot teams and also obtain some strong supporters with games like this. Without doubt, all of those aims are main reason for Fikret Orman to visit Brasil and very likely in near future we might hear an announcement of Besiktas finding pilot team in the country if things would go as planned. Meanwhile, it is also know that team would also study Brasilian league with identifying players and also general organisation of teams during number of Brasilian league games their plan to visit while being there.
Brasil without doubt are among leading footballing markets which could be found outside Europe and those investment into that country if done rightly of course would provide lots of gains to Besiktas in the future.
Turkish National Team must win against Iceland and Finland.
Fate of the Turkish National Team getting direct or play-off ticket to the World Cup 2018 which would take place in Russia would be lying with two games with Scandinavian clubs at qualifiers. 1st game which is also toughest is against Iceland while 2nd is against Finland.
As it is known, situation at the group is very complicated as point difference between 1st and 4th place is 2 points with 2 games left to play. Croatia and Iceland are taking 1-2 places while Ukraine and Turkey are 3-4. The team which would win 2 games would be at least taking 1st two places for sure, as Turkey plays against Iceland on 9th week while next week Croatia plays with Ukraine. At short, Turkish National Team needs to win those 2 games if it wants to get there, and very likely if their manage to beat Iceland on 6th October it would be seen as big shock to lose points against Finland on 9th October. Stating that Turkey does have negative side of not having Mircea Lucescu at head coaching role due of 1 ban but their can achieve an important win if their give all to game in all positions.
Those are two very important games and matter of Turkey going to Russia or not are on their hands so the maths is simple get 2 wins and at worst get to the play-off round which would take place in November.
