Besiktas are lacking to show same concentration to Super League as their do towards Champions League.
Both Besiktas and Basaksehirspor didnt use its opportunity during Super League 9th week game against each other to gain an advantage following loss of points by Galatasaray and Fenerbahce on day before as game has ended with 1:1 scoreline.
Even through Basaksehirspor did look to be better organised at the game and providing much better attacking football it still had lacked number of dangerous attacks and until 1st goal scored by Kerim Frei during 87th minute it was pretty dull game. Besiktas meanwhile still shows two different performances comparing to Super League and Champions League as their seem to be lacking into getting into same concentration as their had failed to win game for last 4 weeks and now are 8 points behind Galatasaray. However, it needs to be stated that reaction shown by Besiktas following conceding goal does show some positive aspects. There is also good chance that Besiktas are emotionally and physically tired from Champions League and more than choosing game its the lack of concentration which happen without want of the players.
Besiktas does provide poor performance right now at Super League but their have chance to turn around and with not having game during this midweek could aim for a win against Alanyaspor this weekend.
Trabzonspor would aim to get motivational boost with game against Corum Belediyespor.
Trabzonspor is first team among big 4 teams who would start its campaign at Turkish Cup as it would be meeting with Corum Belediyespor during 4th round game and would be aiming for a win to gain its motivational boost.
In fact, this game could be very important for them as their are going through very difficult period and prior to Super League 10th week game against Galatasaray does need some good news both to head coach Riza Calimbay and also whole team. Even through it is expected that Trabzonspor would play mainly with reserves the result itself could be enough to motivate players. Stating that Trabzonspor did show some surprising results at the recent history and also not going to the game with best squad does provide small hope for Corum Belediyespor to get surprising result as their would play their best game for certain. Trabzonspor are expected though to show an attacking football and mainly aim to get a result which would motivate them for Galatasaray and rest of the season.
So, as mentioned Trabzonspor would be coming out as confident favourite but what makes domestic cup competitions exciting is possibility for surprise and who knows Corum Belediyespor would be able to show this surprising result.
Konyaspor players played below their capacity hence sacking of Mustafa Resit Akcay.
Konyaspor has become newest club to terminate its contract with its head coach Mustafa Resit Akcay due of poor results shown by the team recently both at league and Europa League.
Appointment of Mustafa Resit Akcay promised a lot with his good performance at the Osmanlispor at recent years and his team in fact did start pretty well with winning Besiktas at Super Cup but he wasnt able to carry on top performance as seen progressed. It could been argued that fans ban which was given to team following Super Cup game has affected negatively but Mustafa Resit Akcay did have an issue to get a maximum performance from his team at Super League while to all respect results to Konyaspor results at Europa League were not that surprising. Therefore Akcay even taking account into quality of the team at his hand did provide pretty poor performance even through it could been argued that he could been given some time to work on team but position of team and results did put worry into team.
Konyaspor who now looking for his replacement would seem to have tough time at motivating players once again as their are showing not great performance and below their capacity for sure.
