Galatasaray has got to quarter-final at Turkish Cup thanks to Yunus Akgun hat-trick

Galatasaray has managed to qualify to the quarter-final of the Turkish Cup after beating Boluspor during Turkish Cup last 16 2nd leg game with 4:1 scoreline thanks to the hat-trick of young player Yunus Akgun.

Galatasaray has managed to pass Boluspor at Turkish Cup without much problems.

Galatasaray has got into quarter-final stage of the Turkish Cup with beating comfortably Boluspor with 4:1 scoreline at home ground with hat-trick scored by Yunus Akgun at the game which has been mainly played by youth and reserved players.

It needs to be noted that with this scoreline Galatasaray has shown how much it wanted to win game and have strong aim at winning Turkish Cup at this season as it has started game in pretty dominating manner and had an upper hand of whole game. Without doubt Yunus Akgun would be seen as one of the most potential youth players at the current squad as Ozan Kabak has left to Stuttgart during this mid-season transfer window. In fact, this development would provide an additional motivation and confidence for Yunus Akgun which didnt show itself during today's game but also in upcoming games as he might recieve some playing time at league if Galatasaray doesnt manage to get transfers in last 2 days of transfer window. As was stated at our blog several times, it is crucial for Fenerbahce to win game back to back as soon as possible as scare of being relegated from Super League is getting closer and closer. Even through it is still uncertain that Fenerbahce would be able to carry on winning game, it is good start for them especially taking account that their have won which at table at least would be considered at title race. Willingness showed by its player Mehmet Ekici during whole game and also with his 2 goals has provided an important role and would likely push whole team into providing much more fighting spirit game with only issue being for him is not being able to convert goal from penalty kick. Fenerbahce has shown right fighting spirit against Yeni Malatyaspor and has won game after long time at league. 

Fenerbahce has shown very strong improvement during Super League 19th week game against Yeni Malatyaspor winning with 3:2 scoreline and has gained high amount of motivation and confidence for upcoming games and possibly got new beginning as team.

But it needs to be noted that this game wasnt easy at all for Fenerbahce as Yeni Malatyaspor as would been expected has shown some high resistance to the opponent as it would be noted that it has come out for a win and keep its fight for top position at the table. But what made Fenerbahce to win game has been this fighting spirit from start and aimed to look at creating chances as much as it can. Without doubt the main player has led for Fenerbahce to get this win has been Mehmet Ekici who has joined by far his best performance since joining team with scoring great goal at the start of the game which also provided high motivation for the side. Only negative aspect which has been is for Mehmet Ekici to not score penalty kick. It needs to be admitted that Fenerbahce has shown one of their best performances  during this season as it has been showing fighting spirit during whole 90 minutes and has been closer for Ersun Yanal style of game which he is seeking for. Stating that Fenerbahce still needs to improve and it would be aiming to do so without doubt during next week game against Goztepe.

Yeni Malatyaspor meanwhile did show strong fighting spirit and wanted to win game but it in all fairness their didnt show their best performance during whole game and early goal by Mehmet Ekici did have some consequences towards providing very organised game. Trabzonspor players are showing right attitute.

But when it has conceded goal from Kone, Trabzonspor has shown great reaction which has led for Abdulkadir Parmak, which is slowly becoming new star of Trabzonspor and Turkish foobtall, scoring great goal has shown willingness from Trabzonspor to win game. Trabzonspor has carried on showing this performance after 1:1 has got into posts for 2-3 times with Parmak carrying on providing high dominating game and looking for chances. Despite of losing 2 points which has affected negatively to their title race aims, it still has shown great performance and does show some good hope for upcoming weeks.

Sivasspor meanwhile has shown a great game also and in similar manner has been aimed to get into similar performance level their showed at the end of the 1st half and wanted to win game even through Trabzonspor in overall has looked pretty good. If Sivasspor carries on proviidng this performance, it can end season at very high spots.

Trabzonspor has shown great performance at the last 20 minutes and does provide a view of fighting spirit and willing to provide good results in this season, and this focus can help team to have some chances for league title but with point difference it wont be easy aim.

Galatasaray has managed to get an important away game win against Goztepe thanks to the goal from Sinan Gumus who seems to be taking role of the attacker, an area which is still absent at the squad right now.

With taking account that Trabzonspor as most clubs during this season has some difficult economical conditions, it is not only able to provide high level performance but also keep players highly motivated. Besiktas player Dorukhan Tokoz has decided scoreline in game against Erzurumspor.

Besiktas has lost 2 crucial points during Super League 19th week game against struggling Erzurumspor and has got further from title race as it has dominated game from start to an end, even through it needs to be admitted that Erzurumspor once again has provided positive performance.

One of the dissapointing factors of the game has been yellow card of Burak Yilmaz and red card of Ricardo Quaresma which would mean both players will miss important next week game against Antalyaspor.

Erzurumspor meanwhile as been mentioned at previous blog has provided some positive performance and even through had an issue at creating chances much has aimed to play game at fast pace with making game to be boring. Fenerbahce situation is very critical and can lead to unexpected circumstances.

Fenerbahce has been relegated from Turkish Cup at the last 16 stage against 1st league side Umraniyespor even through with this condition, this has been only opportunity for side to end season at high note.

Fenerbahce carries on providing very poor performance and without doubt with us being at 2nd half of the season and team being same points with relegation zone and 1 point ahead of last-place team does provide seriousness of the issues. Fenerbahce didnt have any strong plan at the field and taking account that their opponent are doing quite opposite, this result has been quite naturally and it shouldnt not be seen for Fenerbahce to lose game. Even through some Turkish sports media and fans still doesnt consider for Fenerbahce to be relegated, it needs to be stated that their is no opponent in Turkey who doesnt take into account that their can beat this team which in normal circumstances would be feared apart of big 4 teams. There is some view that transfers might solve those issues, if their are made, but the situation is much bigger than this and Ali Koc needs to find ways to solve them.

Galatasaray will have tough game against Goztepe. 

With Galatasaray have some critical issues at the side as it cant transfer an attacker which it urgently needs as side with internally and from fans, administration recieves high amount of protest, it would have tough game against Goztepe at the league.

Fenerbahce carries on providing very poor performance as it has been relegated from Turkish Cup.

Fenerbahce has been relegated from Turkish Cup at the last 16 stage after it has lost to Umraniyespor with 1:0 scoreline as game has been developing in similar scenario as in 1st leg.

In fact, both games has been in similar manner as Fenerbahce has recieved red card during an early at 2nd half which has led for Umraniyespor to get highly motivated and get a goal thanks to the Leandrinho. But it needs to be stated that Fenerbahce has provided poor performance prior to conceding goal during this game and even through it did create chances its hard to state that team has provided much pressure towards Umraniyespor. Apart of losing to team in lower league, Fenerbahce didnt provide any fighting spirit and didnt manage to get an upper hand of the game. This performance of Fenerbahce during today couldnt be referred as bad night or being unlucky due of this tie as it has performed like that during whole season. It was stated and expected that Fenerbahce would take Turkish Cup in much serious manner as it provided very poor performance, and doesnt provide much hope for the future. It is clear that Fenerbahce needs to do many things to improve with their performance and it does look like issue at Fenerbahce is not related to head coach as same results are coming up with 3rd head coach during this season.

One of the main reasons why Umraniyespor has recieved such a great result among poor performance of Fenerbahce has been 1st league team to provide right respect to the Istanbul giants regardless of their condition. With Umraniyespor providing right focus to the game has provided strong performance. Umraniyespor has become 2nd team from lower division to get to quarter-final after Hatayspor  has got surprising score against Basaksehirspor.

Fenerbahce carries on providing poor performance and with lack of providing any good football does provide this image of being relegated at the league can become reality.

Trabzonspor young players showed great performance against Balikesirspor.

Trabzonspor has managed to show good reaction following losing to Basaksehirspor at the Super League and getting 9 points behind leaders, with showing much better performance against Balikesirspor with younger players.

Even through both two legs has not been specifically easy for Trabzonspor as Balikesirspor did  show some good performance in this tie, Trabzonspor has taken all of the focus as it has managed to win game with 3:1 scoreline, and end tie with 5:2 aggregate, and this taken account that field condition at the Balikesir has not been great. It needs to be noted that youth players which did get their chance at the game did provide great performance and has recieved great, especially from Abdulkadir Parlak who has shown memorable performance during 2nd half with finding 2 goals and despite of not recieving many playing time in his career at this level, he has also controlled game and played an important role for Trabzonspor and did show himself as potential star both for a team and also for country. The project of Trabzonspor at academy is doing good job and needs to do so in upcoming weeks.

Trabzonspor did reach to quarter-final and at the tournament which didnt show good performance in recent years it would be certain that their would be aiming for title in this season.

Besiktas will come out to tough game against Erzurumspor regardless of positions of table of both sides. 

Besiktas, which still finds itself 9 points behind league leaders Basaksehirspor, would be coming to the games which would be an important for them if their want to end season with league title, and this time it would be meeting with Eskisehirspor who is located at relegation zone.

Besiktas does have number of internal issues at the squad as some of their players, namely Vagner Love and Ricardo Quaresma wanting to leave team and hence their mental condition does provide harm to the player, Quaresma bit more as Love is now not at the squad. However, good performance of the younger players especially Dorukhan Tokoz does provide some hope as team did provide good performance against Akhisarspor. It needs to be remembered that even through Erzurumspor are at relegation zone, its the side which always tries to show high level and positive performance with high tempo and seems to be at condition due of lack of motivation. Trabzonspor has reached to quarter-final but it wasnt easy task for them. 

Trabzonspor has qualified to Turkish Cup quarter-final as it has managed to win Balikesirspor at away game with 3:1 scoreline and ending tie with 5:2 scoreline and has shown much more focussed and attacking game compare to 1st leg.

With Trabzonspor winning 1st leg with minumum scoreline and providing an away goal to their opponents and also losing to Basaksehirspor at the league, it was important for Trabzonspor to show right reaction. It needs to be stated that it still didnt provide dominant game too much as it has allowed Balikesirspor to occassionally creating chances and making scoreline to 1:1, it still has shown positive approach to a game with creating chances as it has come out with a bit more strong squad also. It was important for Trabzonspor to focus into game and their just did that for sure. This win and also getting to quarter-final of the game has also provided motivation for quarter-final and team would also closer aim to get their Turkish Cup which their didnt for long time period right now. Surely, this win would let Trabzonspor to look at coming game against Sivasspor with bigger motivation.

Meanwhile, it needs to be admitted that Balikesirspor with reaching to last 16 stage and also providing difficult time to Trabzonspor in 2nd legs has shown their quality and provided some positive football and team should be satisfied with their performance for sure.

Trabzonspor has got into quarter-final of Turkish Cup with 5:2 scoreline and at least has gained motivation and confidence after loss to Basaksehirspor in last week games at league.

Galatasaray has got minumum advantage against Boluspor.

Galatasaray has got an advantage with minumum scoreline during Turkish Cup last 16 1st leg game against Boluspor with 1:0 scoreline and despite it was coming out as strong favourite, it wouldnt be able to state that it was easy game for us.

Stating that it needs to be remembered that Galatasaray did come out with an alternative squad with giving chances to its younger players and reserves and to some extend their did show good performance, especially of goalkeeper Ismail Cipe who has prevented high amount of the goals from Boluspor attempts and has provided high amount of confidence to his fellow players. Still, it was important for Selcuk Inan to score goal as been mentioned at our blog as he has gained some confidence which he could have been lacking as he didnt play for lots of the games in recent time. With remembering that game has been played away, this could be seen as good result for Galatasaray and with still being at title race and also at Europa League, it could be stated that for team Turkish Cup its last place among priorities which could lead for such performance and focus from team.

Galatasaray did keep this tie open and still to be continued with high level performance at its home ground during next week even through before that it would have a crucial game against Goztepe this week at Super League.

Fenerbahce needs to take Umraniyespor very seriously. 

Even through none of the favourites during Turkish Cup last 16 1st leg games didnt get a confident wins at their ties, Fenerbahce has been only side which has lost game as it has lost to Umraniyespor last week with 1:0 scoreline and doesnt provide much hope to be to turn around this tie.

With such poor performance at the Super League and also not certainty how team would perform at Europa League knockout stages due of their performance, it has been put by many Turkish Cup as main priority for rest of the season. But it should be stated that during 1st leg game of this tie, it didnt provide high level performance which would be expected from team which really wants to win this cup. Umraniyespor which as side also has its limitations and some internal issues has gained high motivation from 1st leg and would be coming out to the game believing that at worst it cant lose this Fenerbahce, as sadly for Istanbul giant, its opponents are treating their opponents in such manner as it is as beatable team this season. Fenerbahce to get to quarter-final of this competition needs to take this game very seriously and give their best as good result will not be taking them to next round but also provide with high motivation and confidance for upcoming games.

Fenerbahce does have this opportunity as it going to meet with Umraniyespor but it got them beforehand and didnt lose them effectively this season.
