What happened in Turkish football today? 03.10.2017

Besiktas are seeing Caner and Talisca fight as positive thing at the team.

One of the talking points since end of the Super League 7th week game between Besiktas and Trabzonspor has been fight between Besiktas players Caner Erkin and Talisca at the changing room following the game. Even through clubs and team decline the fight to be physical their are reports of this fighting including punching.

According to reports, the fight has been started totally from Caner Erkin unhappiness from Talisca of not passing him and generally playing egoistic football. It does look like that club is treating this issue in an positive manner and even through there is expectation for players to recieve some fines for this action it is seen as factor that players as whole are hungry for a win and this could lead to this argument. Meanwhile, Besiktas and players who are involved are not declining for this take place but state that the fight has been done wordly and there was no actual physical action between players taking place. Right now anything which was happening between both players has been left beside and it is reported that both players has forgiven each other and that media has overexerated an issue.

It does need to state that those actions does take place and in overall it might not lead to any big issue or breaking of team but for regulation club administration does need to find some kind of punishment to both players for it not to raise into habit.

Tolga Cigerci will not be risked until Fenerbahce game.

Even through Galatasaray has won game against Karabukspor during Super League 7th week, it didnt manage to provide top level performance and one of the main reasons of this has been injury of Tolga Cigerci.

With Tolga Cigerci recieving lots of criticism during last season, he suddenly has become one of the key players of this season that Turkish National Team head coach Mircea Lucescu prior to important World Cup Qualifiers games against Iceland and Finland has done his best to make sure that he would be joining team. It is reported that Tolga Cigerci if would be playing right now his injury would become even worser which could lead him not to play for months and therefore it was good decision to give him rest for 2 weeks and try to solve his injury he has right now. Right now Galatasaray are aiming for him to be ready for Super League 9th week derby game against Fenerbahce and there is signs that he would be ready with how recovery process is going on right now.

From being one of the reasons for poor performance during last season, right now Tolga Cigerci has become player whose absence has become negative thing, a great role model for youth players as he shows importance of developing as player.

Kayserispor could aim to fight for Europa League spot this season.

One of the most surprising sides following 7th week games of the Super League without doubt has been Kayserispor who is currently 3 placed and 5 points behind league leaders Galatasaray and also same points with Besiktas.

Kayserispor has always been seen as an average team at the league being at their best at the midtable which could be seen for them as successful season. Of course, there is still long time to be played at the league for now but this performance at least show that their realistically can aim for top 5. One of the main reason for such a start to the season has been positive aspects brought to the players by Marius Sumudica who has provided a positive football and for seeking to find goals which is very important during this season as so far no game has ended with 0:0 scoreline. Kayserispor might have difficult time with top 4 teams during this season but it could be able to provide good results against other teams and possibly fight for Europa League spot even as season progresses.

Judging team by 7th week is of course too early but their performance does show that this team can achieve a lot and has great potentiality to have its best season by mile this year.
