Super League 8th week has started with a big surprise as last-placed Genclerbirligi has managed to win against title holders Besiktas with 2:1 scoreline especially at the game which it needed to win as it was getting further from leaders Galatasaray,
Even through Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes was going through rotation prior to Champions League 3rd week game against Monaco, it was hoping to win against Genclerbirligi which is having very tough season so far. It needs to be stated that Besiktas had trouble to get into rhythm of the game from start lacking tempo and to some extend playing in the way which was suitable for Genclerbirligi as it allowed them to play in tempo which it wanted and also create good counter-attacks with which it has found 2 goals. Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes did try to change the way game was played during 2nd half with raising tempo among some changes but Ryan Babel deserved red card it has led game Genclerbirligi among able to control game with low tempo also to get players advantage. Besiktas tried to come back towards last minute which includes penalty goal from Cenk Tosun but this performance ended up being being too late and too little for Besiktas during whole game. Even through it was losing points for 2 games, this was probably worst Besiktas performance in recent period.
Genclerbirligi using an advantage of poor performance from Besiktas has ended up playing a game which it wanted and has won game with 2:1 scoreline and has used also advantage of Besiktas getting red card. This win over Besiktas could allow Genclerbirligi to get high motivation and carry on season with good results.
Besiktas even through has great chance of Champions League does have difficulty to carry on league with two fronts and might have a difficult time at the domestic league during this season as if Galatasaray wins tomorrow over Konyaspor the point difference would get into 8 points.
Its curious how Galatasaray would respond from another national team break.
Following national team break, Galatasaray would aim to carry on its great start to the Super League season with 8th week game against Konyaspor as teams head coach Igor Tudor aims not to make same mistakes which their did during Antalyaspor game when it has 2 points following previous national team break.

One of the main questions of this game is how Galatasaray would respond following another national team break but as been stated there are many factors which show Galatasaray as favourite team.
Basaksehirspor CEO Goksel Gumusdag states that VAR should be introduced as soon as possible.
Basaksehirspor CEO Goksel Gumusdag, following TFF CEO Yildirim Demiroren statement that he is against VAR system has provided counter-response stating that VAR system is important for Super League.
Its need to be stated however that Yildirim Demiroren has underlined that his negative view regarding of VAR is his own personal views but did state that if system would be introduced in Turkey it should be done in next season as it would be changing system at the middle of the season. Goksel Gumusdag in his statement has stated that during current mood at the Super League with so many arguments being made towards referees, it is crucial for VAR at the league as it would reduce number of arguments done at the league. To some extend Gumusdag as we keep hearing different complain about referees in past weeks, and certainly would hear during this week games.
From those statements it is clear that VAR would be introduced in Turkey but it would be this season or later is question. In here, its not about time but to make sure system is ready to be used and will not create number of issues during the game.
