What happened in Turkish football today? 10/10/2017
Now its important for Turkey to plan for future.
World Cup 2018 campaign has been ended for Turkish National Team in a sad note as it has ended qualifying group stage at the 4th place following 2:2 draw against Finland and would now look for the start of Nations League which would start in next year after World Cup.
It would be hard to judge Turkish National Team against Finland performance yesterday as it was clear that it would not go to World Cup in Russia next summer and hence was coming out to the formality game which is always hard game to play taking account with its aims it has started this campaign. Regardless of that Cenk Tosun did show some positive performance as he has scored 2 goals making sure Turkey would go leading at scoreline and at least win its last game, even through Finland did respond to this twice. What is important now is to everyone who is responsible with Turkish football development is to take important lessons from this campaign and now look forward. This should be done with big revisions both at the structurally at the Turkish Football Federation and Turkish clubs.
One of the few positive things from elimination to the race to World Cup is a chance to bring some important changes and look for solutions of the issues but worrying part is that Turkey always lacked to bring those changes.
Clubs needs to focus at developing future Turkish stars.
The role of Turkish clubs at improving Turkish players and work on creating future stars of the Turkish National Team star players who would be able to bring big successes to the team does lie with clubs academies.
All of the clubs regardless how many foreigners their have should work intensively to create high number of Turkish players with helping them developing into high level performance as facilities and population does allow that. With taking examples from Germany, Spain and other leading footballing nations focus should be given to the development of players, self-discipline, psychology and technically making sure that players would seek to develop as players and reduce their chances of getting too much ego. When players come to certain age allow them to play at main squad and let them make mistake and tolerate those mistakes as same manner as its done towards foreign players. This is best solution to the issue if country wants to see high level players in the future. This might reduce some high aims for upcoming seasons but it would allow country to develop in football for future.
Sadly, high number of Turkish clubs are not willing to do those changes and as long their be reluctant, Turkish football will not develop.
Goztepe plan to extend contract with Adis Jahovic.
It became clear that Goztepe are planning to extend contract with its main player so far at the season Adis Jahovic whose contract is going to end next summer but according to clause allows him to have negotiations with other clubs since January.
It is reported that Besiktas are having interest to transfer Jahovic as club has been impressed with his performance so far by him at this season but Jahovic according to reports doesnt have plan to leave team and also looking forward to sign extension with his current club. It is normal for Goztepe at doing their best to keep him as his goal has helped them to be at upper section of the table with high number of goals as he joined goal leaders with 7 goals among Bafetembi Gomis and Vagner Love and hence does slowly become leading player of the team. It does look therefore that Besiktas would need to do a lot of work to convince Jahovic to join them.
Therefore, Besiktas does have difficult job as no single club would like to sell its main player and Goztepe seem to determine regardless any offer Besiktas gives or any other club does.
