What happened in Turkish football today? 30/05/2022

Altay had strange season without doubt.

Relegation of the Altay from Super League without has been most interesting case and when looking in the start of the season period most unexpected as it did start at very good form but after has lost games back-to-back.

Altay during at one point got into leadership with showing very good performance and did look to be side which would end season at the European spots but after one moment it start losing games back-to-back which led for club to end contract with Mustafa Denizli but somehow upcoming coaches who took his spaces couldnt prevent this negative run in the club. It is quite possibly that Altay has been among few clubs which been seen to have great season on its 1st season after return from lower league and who has been relegated and done that with some weeks before end of the season.

Altay has dropped after good start in total free fall and it needs to go through why it happened if it wants to return to Super League.

Goztepe did show good performance but didnt get results.

Another Izmir side, Goztepe, did also have interesting season as it did spend most of the time at relegation zone or around that area but there were moments when it did show good performances but didnt get win.

When coming to the effort, there were times in the season, especially at mid-season where Goztepe did provide strong performance and did look well but did lack results which been seen that it lacked some strong attacking players. Still, when looking how it performed in some games and also games which it did win, as it did have period of back-to-back good results, it would be seen interesting to see how they relegated when in fact squad of the side has not been too badly.

It does look like one of the issues for the team to be relegated has been internal and squad building and side would need to focus on this if it wants to return to Super League next season.

Yeni Malatyaspor has been poorly managed as club.

Yeni Malatyaspor among all of the relegated sides, to all respect to them, has been provided worst performance both with results and also performance and effort which been due of club being poorly managed.

It needs to be stated that during previous season, Yeni Malatyaspor has been close to relegation with getting managed to stay on league with last wins apart of 3-year season ago when it did even get European spot. Yeni Malatyaspor needs to go some serious changes adminstrative and financially if it wants to have similar drop of performance which are Bursaspor, which been dropped to 2nd league and Karabukspor, which been dropped down to amateur leagues, as both those sides did enjoy some European football only recently.

Yeni Malatyaspor is in serious crises as team and it need to find for sure, but it would be too optimistic to expect them to return to top league soon.

Sivasspor ends struggling season with historical Turkish Cup title.

Even through Sivasspor didnt provide very good performance at the Super League compare to previous season, it still could see following season successful one as it has won Turkish Cup for 1st time during this season.

It needs to be mentioned that start of the season for Sivasspor has not been an ideal one as it didnt get to proper stage of the Conference League and also didnt show high great start at the Super League where despite of some moments when it got into good results, did struggle and did end just above mid-point of the standing. But it needs to be mentioned that starting from semi-final games, when it became clear it would not have any chances to get European spot in the Super League, it has given full attention to Turkish Cup where it did show good performance with focussing into organising and patient game and in the end has got its first title at Turkish Cup with beating Kayserispor at final and got into Europe 3rd season back-to-back.

Sivasspor did end hence season in high and historical note despite of having not very good season in overall.

Emre Belozoglu has got maximum from his side after joining it.

Basaksehirspor performance during this season could be also treated as was Fenerbahce season in sense that of results and performance before Emre Belozoglu and after him.

Okan Buruk who has experienced so far only title for Basaksehirspor did have very poor start of the season with providing poor and ineffective performance to extend that it was above of relegation zone. But when Emre Belozoglu joined side, Basaksehirspor started showing high tempo and positive game which brought back-to-back wins which naturally led them to raise as high as getting close to title contenders. During 2nd half of the season it did have some downsides especially towards end of the season, with getting risk of losing Conference League spot but getting win in last game against title winners brought them European spot. Now Basaksehirspor would certainly focus to learn from some mistakes which happened this season and make more competitive side for next season.

Emre Belozoglu is having lots of potential as coach and time would show how he would perform with side which also has high potential at the domestic league. 

Rizespor start getting point too late for sure.

All of the relegated sides did have very dissapointing performance which hence should not be suprised that all of the teams has been relegated within 2 weeks left on the season.

It needs to be mentioned that one of the sides which has been pretty unexpected has been Rizespor as it does have some quality players and in fact has Pohjanpolo who has been one of the main contenders from best goalscorer of the season. In all fairness, it needs to be mentioned that Rizespor towards end of the season did rise tempo and even got win against Trabzonspor at the moment when it was still not securing title but its been pretty too late for them and it needed lots of luck among winning.

Rizespor might be relegated but it has potential to rise again to top league after 1 season for sure.

What happened in Turkish football today? 28/05/2022

Trabzonspor has won highly deserved title with dominance of whole season.

Starting from today our blog would be providing summary of 2021-22 season, with starting unsurprisingly with title winners Trabzonspor which has dominated this Super League season without losing top position for more than half of the season.

With making some important transfers during previous summer transfer window and also Abdullah Avci showing some good performance since previous season, Trabzonspor has been seen as one of the main title contenders since season has been started but it wasnt expected that it would win in such dominating manner without doubt. However, starting from 1st week of the season, Trabzonspor has shown strong attacking game and dominating games regardless who would been their opponents in the Super League games, which it continued for whole season apart of last 2 months of the season which been due of relaxation of being very close at winning title. At short Trabzonspor has deserved this title as teamwise and individually everyone gave their best on the field.

Trabzonspor has celebrated its first title since 1983 and has done so in such style that whole world has talked about them, and now side would starting upcoming season with high expectation both domestically and in Europe. 

There is Fenerbahce before Ismail Kartal and after.

2021-22 season for Fenerbahce could be divided into two parts of before Ismail Kartal and after him as it did have very dissapointing season and wasnt even expected to get European spot and after Ismail Kartal where it didnt lose single game and showed dominant game.

It needs to be also stated that Fenerbahce in scorewise didnt start season too badly with even getting into leadership spot in October, but has shown strong drop of performance after Trabzonspor game which led for back-to-back loss of points and even through it did continue losing point until March, it did lose its tile opportunities for sure after that Trabzonspor game. One of the reasons is that Fenerbahce has felt to be stolen victory on that game, debatable issue in all fairness, which has affected mentally negatively to Fenerbahce. However, among this Vitor Pereira didnt manage to get maximum level of performance from his squad with having some wrong tactical preferences which were not suitable both for the team and to the league. Ismail Kartal which has come to team in short notice, as side didnt make deal with Joachim Low, has managed to bring fighting spirit to the side and with his help brough runners-up spot to the team. If team started with Ismail Kartal for sure at least side would be fighting for title until last week.

It does look like Jorge Jesus would become new coach for Fenerbahce, and even through Jesus has strong potential for side, it would been wiser in our view to continue with coach who has turned around side dramatically positively in short period.

Konyaspor in overall did show outstanding performance during this season.

Without doubt one of the main surprises of this season has been Konyaspor who has ended season at 3rd spot and got ticket to European Conference League and its need to be mentioned as side it has been pretty close to become champions.

In fact, it has been one of the main contenders to get top of the position during start of the 2nd half of the season and did provide pressure to Trabzonspor but when it did meet with named opponent in early spring, it did lose game which had negative impact to side morale and it began losing points back-to-back and similar has happened towards end of the season as it lost 2nd spot to Fenerbahce. So, it could be noted that it did lose at least 2nd spot due of this drop of performance in this moment, but even with this periods it could be stated without doubt that Konyaspor has been 3rd best team in the league. It also needs to be mentioned that with economical condition of the club and also level of squad, even through it wasnt bad, it still not in level to fight for title and hence this downside could be understood and 3rd spot should be seen as high performance. Also, it needs to be remembered that tragic death of Ahmet Calik during car crash, which led for season to be named after him, did affect concentration and morale of the side.

Konyaspor still has been among side which did overpass its expectation and as been noted got well deserved 3rd spot in the league.

Sivasspor got its first Turkish Cup with strong performance.

Sivasspor has won its first Turkish Cup title after beating Kayserispor at highly competitive game with 3:2 scoreline, as it was clear that side did come pretty hungry for win for this final game.

Sivasspor it needs to be mentioned has been pretty competitive side during recent seasons with competing at Europa League for past 3-years and in some occassions has been among main title contenders. Only thing which was missing for them has been Turkish Cup and head coach Riza Calimbay did state prior to game that this factor does provide strong confidence and motivation to side. And this been seen on the field with Sivasspor apart of 1st half did provide strong organised game with being agressive in attack and cautious at the back. With such win Sivasspor gets to Europa League once again where it would be competing at play-off round. 

Sivasspor showed strong confident game both in final and whole competition but it did get well deserved win for sure.

Kayserispor did show high level competitive game.

Kayserispor on they part without doubt did provide strong confident game which in return did provide competitive exciting game and also led for football lovers to state that Kayserispor also deserved this win.

Kayserispor wasnt absent in much compare to Sivasspor with its performance as both side did show strong competitive game but it could be noted that Kayserispor did concede pretty simple goal which led them to lose from throw in where players did lose concentration in most crucial moment. But apart that it could be stated that Kayserispor did show confident game for 120 minutes with keeping tempo high and looking for lots of opportunities. Taking account that it beat top sides in this competition, Kayserispor did show outstanding competition in overall for sure.

Kayserispor did lose final game but with such performance it did show that it has high potential for next season both in league and cup.

Fatih Karagumruk has terminated contract with Volkan Demirel.

Fatih Karagumruk head coach Volkan Demirel n unaccepted manner has terminated contract contract mutually with his team due of misunderstanding between sides.

It needs to be mentioned that Volkan Demirel has been 1st time at head coach role in his potential career and did get 12 wins out of 24 in highly potential but modest side and in some time did have some opportunities to get European spot. Taking account of him showing such good performance it could be seen surprising, but it does look that there is misunderstanding between side regarding future of the team for upcoming season. More likely, there could be issues with transfers and finances as possibly Demirel wanted some players which were not suitable, as termination did come in the end of the season.

Volkan Demirel did show strong potential as head coach and likely would be among high demands among clubs in Turkey during this summer.

Sivasspor wins its 1st Turkish Cup by beating Kayserispor with 3:2 scoreline

Sivasspor wins its first Turkish Cup final with 3:2 scoreline against Kayserispor as both sides did provide high level and tempo game and did everything to win this cup but Sivasspor looked to be more willing especially starting from 2nd half.

Sivasspor head coach Riza Calimbay did state several times prior to game that side would be taking this game into priority and would do everything to win this game and it has shown such performance during 120 minutes of the game with getting behind on 33rd minute and later got scoreline into 2:2 during 2nd extra time but did stay focussed on its task and providing high tempo and attacking game. Looking how side played with full concentration and organisation it was seen that players been highly focussed to get Turkish Cup and just did that. Without doubt hero of the game has been Kayode who has scored on 117th minute winning goal after conceding on 113rd minute. It needs to be noted that Sivasspor did provide good performances domestically in recent years but didnt get any titles with Riza Calimbay, therefore this been highly deserved long time title even if it played 1st time in Turkish Cup final.

Kayserispor in other hand also provided top level game and has shown that it really wanted to win this Turkish Cup with providing pressure into Sivasspor goal and in all fairness Kayserispor didnt deserve any less than Sivasspor as both sides did provide its best performance despite of it playing last game of the season. It needs to be mentioned that it didnt let hence Sivasspor do get full control of the game with providing organised game both in defence and in the attack which did make game exciting one without doubt. Therefore, it is hard to state that side which wanted cup more has won it, as Kayserispor also really wanted and showed such great performance with after 2:2 trying to get winning goal before penalty. Meanwhile, even through Kayserispor did lose final game it did has outstanding campaign with beating Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Trabzonspor before final.

Sivasspor has won Turkish Cup for first time in its history during its 1st final and has got ticket to Europa League where it would enter at play-off round of qualifying stage.

Both Besiktas CEO candidates announced they administrative board.

Both of the Besiktas CEO candidates Fuat Cimen and Ahmet Nur Cebi have presented they CEO candidates prior to election which would be taking place on 28th May as current CEO is coming out as strong favourites.

It has been stated on our previous post about this subject area and also been stated by Fuat Cimen that current Besiktas CEO Ahmet Nur Cebi performance in previous season hasnt been great one as side did make much older side which led for poor results both domestically and also at Champions League. However, Ahmet Nur Cebi does have strong advantage due of experience and also good performances in previous seasons while Fuat Cimen is not well known both in the club and outside of the team. It needs to be mentioned that Fuat Cimen does state that he would win election without doubt but this statement is mainly due to show confidence to outside world.

Ahmet Nur Cebi is coming out as strong candidate as he did some revisions to administrative board team.

Lazio are interested to transfer Yunus Akgun.

It is reported that Lazio are showing strong interested with Galatasaray player Yunus Akgun, who showed without doubt high performance at Adana Demirspor and played important role for such great season for them.

With showing such strong performance at Adana Demirspor and also very likely Italian clubs did follow its performance due of Mario Balloteli, it could be accepted for him to recieve offer from this particular country. It needs to be mentioned that Lazio which is side which tends to focus into European spots at domestic league, would be good option for Yunus Akgun to develop as player and also show his skills. Only question is due of experience and his willingness to play for Galatasaray which might be prevention for him to join Italian side.

Kayserispor would aim to get Turkish Cup after giants on its road to final.

Turkish Cup final game which would end 2021-22 Turkish football season would be taking place between Kayserispor and Sivasspor as both sides did make they journey to most important game for them in well-deserved manner.

Kayserispor without doubt has been most eye-catching and showed impressive performance in this Turkish Cup competition as it did win Fenerbahce, Besiktas and title-winners Trabzonspor on its journey for final game with showing strong attitude and organised game in this games. Without doubt one of the most important factor has also been belief which side did have. In addition, Kayserispor didnt have good season at Super League in one point even being close to relegation zone, and therefore it would be impressive for them to get Europa League spot after getting win against Sivasspor in the final.

Without doubt, route which Kayserispor shown in road to final would provide extra motivational boost.

Sivasspor would play its first Turkish Cup final game.

Sivasspor also been in Europe either proper or qualifying stages so it would also aim to get to that spot as it missed out from league route.

Clubs Union would meet with 2 potential TFF CEO candidates

Trabzonspor CEO Ahmet Agaoglu following Clubs Union meeting has stated that there are 2 persons which are considering to become TFF CEO candidates for election in June.

Ahmet Agaoglu has stated that clubs considers to have meeting with those 2 candidates to see and discuss plans and aims which they have for this role. Meanwhile, Gaziantep ex-CEO Mehmet Buyukeksi did state that he is considering to become CEO candidate and would make final decision after meeting with Clubs Union to discuss his plans and expectations for Turkish football. Issues which Clubs Union are worried about meanwhile are foreign players limit, condition of referees and also broadcasting rights issues. 

There are still no official CEO candidates for TFF position but it is expected that some names would officially announce their candidacy in upcoming days.

It is now important to identify reasons for such downsides and find solution for TFF.

Fenerbahce CEO Ali Koc during interview at Turkish football show on TV has stated that Ismail Kartal is still being head coach candidate for next season among Jorge Jesus.

Trabzonspor ends season with loss as its been mentally in holiday.

Champions Trabzonspor ends season with loss to Basaksehirspor, which without doubt did have much bigger aim of getting last spot of Conference League and did show game according to that during 1st half.

If Basaksehirspor did start game with high concentration and and attacking game which led them to find 3 goals in duration of 1st half, Trabzonspor did come out with relaxed mood and without providing much pressure and positive game. Hatayspor has accepted resignation of its head coach Omer Erdogan, which been seen as big surprise on previous day as he stated that he would leaving side when taking account that he did show good performance in last 2 years at team.

Basaksehirspor gets Conference League after beating title winners.

Basaksehirspor gets 4th spot following win against title winners Trabzonspor with 3:1 scoreline and gets to Conference League as their opponents did play game in relaxed mood as would been expected.

With Trabzonspor winning title 4 weeks ago, Trabzonspor did reduce level of its performance as would been expected and this could be seen during Basaksehirspor as it didnt get into game during 1st half. In all fairness, it did improve on 2nd half with providing much more attacking game but still it wasnt on same level and plus Basaksehirspor which did show in this game performance that it wants to get Conference League spot would not easily lose that spot as Basaksehirspor goalkeeper has provided some important saves during game. Trabzonspor did end season with loss but its been expected loss as opponent had an important aim to achieve.

Basaksehirspor did show in recent week high level performance and even through in more recent weeks did lose its advantage for 4th spot, it did what needs to be done in this game and would be competing at Conference League next season.

Trabzonspor hence ends with loss in the season which it ended for title and now would focus into summer transfer window as it wants to be successful in Champions League.

Fenerbahce ends season at 2nd spot with Ismail Kartal likely to leave club.

Fenerbahce has ended season with confident result of 5:0 against Yeni Malatyaspor which brought them ticked to the Champions League 2nd qualifying round and also has been good end for Ismail Kartal.

Even through prior to game Fenerbahce didnt secure 2nd spot, all of the circumstances did point towards them to get as they did play against side which been relegated weeks ago and didnt win for long time. In addition, red card which been brought by opponent did lead them to get such confident win. Despite of great end of the season by Ismail Kartal, it does look like Jorge Jesus would be joining in the end of the season with saying farewell message in the end of the season. Fenerbahce gets Champions League spot with confident win.

Fenerbahce ends Super League 2021-22 season with confident win against Yeni Malatyapor and got right to compete at next season Champions League 2nd qualifying round as it is likely to be last game of Ismail Kartal as head coach.

Prior to coming out to the game, even through Fenerbahce didnt quarentee 2nd spot it was visible in many circumstances that Fenerbahce would end season at 2nd spot and it did went out to some extend without doubt. With Yeni Malatyaspor being relegated weeks ago and also getting red card earlier in the game made things for them easier.It needs to be mentioned that Fenerbahce did struggle a bit during 1st half with Yeni Malatyaspor tried its best to defence, but 2nd half did get dominance and with opponent getting more and more demotivated let them to get such confident result.

Yeni Malatyaspor did try to provide some pressure to Fenerbhace during 1st half to some extend but did lack to concentrate towards game entirelly mentally and hence did end season in a manner which been went for them during whole season.

Fenerbahce ends season with great run without losing for 14th week and despite of that it does look like Ismail Kartal would not stay as coach in upcoming weeks as side got Champions League spot.

Konyaspor has ended Super League at 3rd spot as it has drawn with Besiktas with 1:1 scoreline as Besiktas did come out to the formality game for them.

As been noted on previous day blog entry, Konyaspor did come out into difficult possibility for winning title and without doubt one of the aspects of this been for Besiktas wouldnt certainly give up to the game. It needs to be mentioned that Besiktas even through did come out for win in its last game, it couldnt focus much into game due of mentality since it was playing at home ground. Still, last minute goal from Karaman does show that team didnt want to lose at home ground in last game of the season. Antalyaspor and Galatasaray end season with draw.

Both Antalyaspor and Galatasaray has ended 2021-22 season with a draw between each other as Galatasaray didnt lose for last 2 games at least while Antalyaspor ended season with 16th undefeated game.

With game being formality for both sides, it needs to be stated that both side did show pretty positive game with creating chances and aiming to end season with a win as both sides wanted to end season at some high point. Even through Antalyaspor did come out to the game as favourites and did provide some positive performance and organising game, Galatasaray also created high number of positions but did fail to create some opportunities. Therefore, it could be stated that Galatasaray did end season which it would like to forget in not bad form as many players aimed to show some positive game thinking about they future either on club or as possibility to be transferred to other club. It also been important for Domenec Torrent to win game against opponent which is being on form.

Antalyaspor as been noted did finish season without losing game hence extending its undefeated run to 16 games and ending season with high note even through it did provide much more attacking game in previous games.

Galatasaray ended season which it would like to forget and without doubt it would need to go through with some crucial revision and changes during summer period, which seems to be priority for CEO which would be elected on 11th June.

Therefore, it needs to be noted that Fenerbahce would be come out without feeling any pressure and expects to show some positive football as it would be suitable for side which is being showing high level performance in recent weeks and opponent which does concede easily. Antalyaspor expect to get win at last game in season against Galatasaray.

Besiktas would focus into young players this summer.

Besiktas CEO Ahmet Nur Cebi has announced during  almost 2-hour press conference that team would be focussed to make team with mainly young and budget players who does have strong potential.

As all of the clubs around Turkey, Besiktas are also going through difficult financial situations and one of the best ways how to solve this issue for football clubs is to focus into potential young players both in its own academy and other clubs. This does look to be main focus for them during upcoming summer transfer window as it would be focussed to transfer young players with reasonable budget. Stating that Ahmet Nur Cebi has added that there would be also 3-4 experienced players, especially focussing into attacking position so side would be able to keep competitive and also be great example for younger players.

Therefore, it would be expected for Besiktas to be focussing to transfer young players and provide attention to academy this summer.

Fuat Cipe has announced his candidacy as Besiktas CEO. 

Fuat Cipe has announced officially his candidacy as Besiktas CEO position for election to be taking place on 28th May.

Fuat Cipe with such announcement has become 2nd candidate for position and possibly to be staying so and even through does have some plans for the side is being underdog as it is expected for most people to vote for current CEO. Still, Besiktas does have some issues as club right now and it would be interesting to see if he would be able to provide some strong and reasonable solutions for those.

Therefore, it would be interesting to see what plans does Fuat Cipe as CEO if he would be elected in upcoming days.

Referee issue is systematic and not of names at TFF.

During press conference, Besiktas CEO Ahmet Nur Cebi has stated that main issue of Turkish football is being referees and called for whole TFF and its all connected organisations to resign this summer.

Performance of the referees has been discussed and critisiced during whole season and its been more or less admitted that issue is being into system and not into personality so calling for whole resignation doesnt look to be smart solution as new names would continue making same solutions. It is possible that Ahmet Nur Cebi has made such statements in emotions, as Trabzonspor and Besiktas hasnt been repeated due of rule mistake. Stating that, referee performance during this season has been poor and been dominated some part with crises of leaving 13 referees and after returning them. So some revision needs to be done in that front, but focus should be on system not names.

It is likely that TFF would be working on referee issue during this summer trying to identify issues and find solutions.

Galatasaray got win at last home game of the season.

Galatasaray has won its last game at home ground of the season and also has led supporters to send their farewells to Sofiane Feghouli and Ryan Donk at the game against Adana Demirspor.

With taking account that there were suprising amount of supporters at Galatasaray game taking account situation which club it is, it was to some extend important to win its last game against tough opponent Adana Demirspor. Stating that Adana Demirspor has been at decline in recent weeks and did have issues with winning games so this result in that sense should not be surprising. Even through Galatasaray did score 3 goals, it did look like Galatasaray again did lack concentration and didnt show much in recent weeks. 

Galatasaray would now focus into last game of the season against Antalyaspor as their opponents did show undefeated run in recent weeks.

Burak Elmas will not seek for re-election at Galatasaray.

Galatasaray CEO Burak Elmas has stated that he would not run as clubs CEO candidate in upcoming elections in expected manner during press conference.

Even through it does state that its been expected as Burak Elmas did state that he doesnt consider to run as CEO candidate on 11th June elections, with previous election date been cancelled by court did rise question if he would be considering to run again but his declined. This been right decision without doubt as he does recieve high number of criticism from club and him staying would continue to provide lots of pressure in the club without doubt. Meanwhile, Firat Destanoglu who has been main reason for such chaos regarding election date has changed his mind to run as CEO candidate.

Right now, Mehmet Ozdilek and Esref Hamamcioglu as expected would be running between each for CEO position.

In other hand, Besiktas CEO Ahmet Nur Cebi has announced that he would be CEO candidate in club CEO election on 28th May as what looks to be that he would be sole candidate.

Despite of poor season, Besiktas did experience league title in previous season which did come in his reign but it needs to be mentioned that with some wrong decisions in this seasons, especially last summer transfers did let side to go behind as it rise its average age pretty significanatly aiming for experience for Champions League but ended with 0 points and poor performance in each game. Therefore, it could be argued how he was successful in this season but there are not yet any candidates who would challenge him

Galatasaray has won its last game at home ground of the season.

Galatasaray has managed to get win against Adana Demirspor at home ground and hence has farewell to its supporters during this season with a win in such dissapointing result for them.

With providing very poor season and domestically has made its supporters to be very dissapointing and hence to get some at least forgiveness from them it did come out with focus to win game. It needs to be mention that it didnt start game in good manner as Yunus Akgun has found goal on 9th minute. But following that goal, Galatasaray has turned around game with strong and confident performance with Bafetembi Gomis and Kerem Akturkoglu who have found 3 goals. Meanwhile, Ryan Donk and Sofiane Feghouli who for sure would be leaving side in the end of the season has send farewell to its supporters with good game and also greeting each other after the game.

Adana Demirspor it needs to be mentioned did provide strong and organised game with not being too behind from Galatasaray in performance wise but did have issues to find 3rd goal to at least game with draw in the last minute of the game.

Galatasaray did play its last game at home ground of the season with getting win at the season which it would like to forget for sure. 

Fenerbahce has huge advantage for 2nd spot over Konyaspor as we enter final week.

Fenerbahce has got big advantage for 2nd spot as last week of the season would be played in upcoming week, but it could have secured its 2nd spot with win against Fatih Karagumruk.

Once again it needs to be stated that for Fenerbahce ending season in the 3rd spot and hence out of Champions League are pretty low as it would be playing against Yeni Malatyaspor with +9 goal difference while Konyaspor is going to play against Besiktas. Fenerbahce didnt play its best game compare to recent weeks deciding to play much more patient game, as Fatih Karagumruk is also being great form and has strong counter-attacking game as it shown in some occassions during game yesterday. Still, Fenerbahce could provide more risk during game and has kept some questions for last week even through it does look to be almost certain.

Fenerbahce despite of draw, continues to show 13-game run without losing game and would be focussed to end season at high spot and with Champions League spot.

Trabzonspor managed to win after title celebrations.

Trabzonspor continues winning game even after celebrating league title even through it did play against relegated Altay with winning game 2:1 scoreline.

As would been expected and condition of two sides it wasnt high level game as both sides did come out to formality game but there was seen some willingness from players to celebrate its championship with supporters who came to that game as it also presenting its title to supporters after lifting it on previous day. Trabzonspor asre on celerbating mood right now and hence it would be hard for them to focus ot Basaksehirspor game possibly which puts their opponent for 4th spotin final week.

Trabzonspor, even through did play home game in Istanbul due of condition of the field in Trabzon, still played technically its last game of the  season with win which descibes without doubt whole season for them.

Fenerbahce didnt use opportunity to secure 2nd spot.

Fenerbahce didnt use its opportunity to secure its 2nd spot at the standings as it got goalless draw against Fatih Karagumruk at the game which been identified with great saves from both goalkeepers.

Fenerbahce it needs to be noted did provide some good pressure to Fatih Karagumruk goal with looking for opportunities and having some good shots, but it needs to be stated that level of pressure which it been shown in recent weeks and also taking account that win would secure them into 2nd spot it could be seen as unexpected kind of play even through Fatih Karagumruk response and strong game should not be taken into suprise as it did show very good performance in recent weeks. Positive note for Fenerbahce that it would be playing against Yeni Malatyaspor which are been relegated and also continues losing points in recent weeks. Still, Fenerbahce needs to go through why it made this game into difficulty without providing enough pressure.

Stating that, it needs to be mentioned that Fatih Karagumruk also shown strong controllable and aggessive game with standing strong and defence and also providing pressure to Fenerbahce goal. Fatih Karagumruk with such draw did lose opportunity for 4th spot but this performance should be praised.

Fenerbahce did get result which it didnt look for and only good news for them is that they need to get at least draw against side which didnt win for weeks in the league. 

Trabzonspor gets win after lifting title on previous day.

Trabzonspor continues winning games despite of celebrating its championship and lifting title at home ground on day before as it won against relegated Altay with 2:1 scoreline.

It needs to be mentioned that Trabzonspor did provide high tempo and dominance as would been expected from side which did was celebrating its title and has won game as it won game with side which been relegated on previous weeks and hence did come with low morale which had direct effect, even through it could be mentioned that Altay did provide some pressure to opponent. Still, with high number of supporters of Trabzonspor coming to stadium on Istanbul where side has also celebrated its title with its supporters its been to some extend important for them to win its penultimate game. 

As been noted, Altay did come out to game with being relegated on previous weeks did try their best game in such circumstances and in fact did get goal from Rodrigues on 70th minute but couldnt keep scoreline until end of the game.

Trabzonspor did get win after celebrating its week and would possibly aim to get to last week game against Basaksehirspor for sure.

Besiktas showed positive attacking game against Goztepe.

Besiktas has got win against relegated Goztepe with 2:0 scoreline despite of getting two red cards during whole game but without doubt playing against demoralised opponent did bring this outcome.

Both Trabzonspor and Altay would come out to formality game.

After celebrating lifting 2021-22 season league title which it has waited for 38 years, Trabzonspor would be coming out to penultimate game of this season as both sides would be coming out to formality game.

It needs to be stated that Trabzonspor had whole day celebration during celebrating its league title ceremony which has started from 16:40 and lasted just before midnight after which it has travelled from Trabzon to Istanbul, so it would be reasonable to expect for Trabzonspor to be feeling tired. Taking account that it would be meeting with side which has arleady been relegated from Super League, it would be expected to be low tempo game. Stating Altay would be meeting with side which did have intensive and active title celebration so Altay could be focussed to get surprising result. 

Therefore, Trabzonspor would be playing against Altay with not only as champions but also side which has title on its hand and it would be interesting to see how sides would respond to this formality game.

Fatih Karagumruk needs win more than Fenerbahce.

Probably only game which really matters this week would be between Fenerbahce and Fatih Karagumruk in penultimate game of the season as Fenerbahce is still aiming to secure its 2nd spot while Fatih Karagumruk needs to win to get Conference League spot for next season.

Fenerbahce would secure its 2nd spot regardless how Konyaspor if it wins against Fatih Karagumruk while loss of points would let them lose to 4th spot as long as of course Basaksehirspor would lose its game. There is high possibility that Ismail Kartal would be coming out to last game at his home ground as head coach and would be aiming to play its last game on home ground with ending game at strong game and result. Another interesting aspect of this game is being that Volkan Demirel would be playing for 1st time against side where he has spend his career and has strong connection so it would be emotional game for them. Fatih Karagumruk are risking more during this game and this could affect to its performance. 

Without doubt his would be one of the most exciting games of this week and it has all reasons to be felt like this on field.

Valerien Ismael would like to check his squad against Goztepe.

Besiktas would be coming to formality game against relegated Goztepe while Besiktas has lost chance for European spot for next season so to some extend it would be game with two sides with low morale.
