Last 5 minutes provided more exciting at Besiktas and Basaksehirspor game than 90 minutes.
Super League 9th week game between Besiktas and Basaksehirspor, among inter-continental derby game yesterday has been among one of the most anticipated games during this week and has made even important following 0:0 scoreline from yesterday. However, both sides didnt use an opportunity to use this advantage as game ended with 1:1 scoreline.
Besiktas carries on poor performance at the Super League with recent performance as it is uncapable to show high level performance which it done during Champions League. Even through amount of dangerous chances has been pretty limted with both sides, Basaksehirspor has played more controlled and organised football. Besiktas did have trouble to raise its tempo and quite opposite has provided very physical football with high number of fouls which has shown their nervousness and lack of concentration. In fact, the last 5 minutes of the game has provided more dangerous attacks than 1st 90 minutes. With Kerim Frei what looked was a winning goal with very high level and beautiful goal but Dusko Tosic equaliser has provided a great header during corner kick as game was ending and became main hero of the game. Besiktas in overall did look like very nervous side which has led them to get high number of yellow cards.
Basaksehirspor would feel like it has lost opportunity win game as it has found goal at 89th minutes and had provided more organised football compare to Besiktas despite of not having much dangerous chances during the game. Basaksehirspor does aim to stay at the top of the league and keep its aims to fight for league title during this season.
In overall, the game has been mainly dominated by nervous game of Besiktas and high yellow cards and carries on providing an image that it seems trouble to raise its performance at same level as it did at Champions League.
Galatasaray had complaints to Cuneyt Cakir but he didnt take sides
Super League 9th week game between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce didnt provide high level game as was expected prior to game and has been mainly been dominated by referee decisions with Galatasaray showing their complaint even through it could been argued that questionable decisions has been done to both sides.
It does need to be stated that even through has got draw which right now doesnt provide much damage to Galatasaray due of its position at the table, it did provide one of the worst performances during this season and has changed a tactic which has worked before. In fact, even through it did look more effective then its opponents especially at 1st half it didnt provide very effective attacking football. Coming to referee decisions, there are some questions which needs to be raised at Hasan Ali Kaldirim hand ball and could be stated that Youness Belhand 2nd yellow card was too harsh even through it wasnt penalty kick either. In other words, Cuneyt Cakir just needed to say no to the penalty. Galatasaray didnt score 1st time during this season and didnt use to some extend 1st minutes when Fenerbahce has played pretty clumsy football. Galatasaray does get to the difficult period right now including game against Trabzonspor and those games would show if the team is at the level to get league title.
Galatasaray did play, especially after Belhanda red card, to the draw and was in fact providing chances to Fenerbahce with its style but their opponents didnt use those chances.
Fenerbahce improved in defence but lacked offensive game.
Fenerbahce on other sides did provide its best defensive football so far as it didnt manage to concede goal from most-scoring team at the league so far but too much focus into defence has led them to not being effective at offensive side of the field.
Coming to the Cuneyt Cakir performance probably the best position which does show that he didnt take sides is unallowed goal by Vincent Janssen as early as 6th minute which is clearly didnt include foul by him to Serdar Aziz. Fenerbahce after that did have issues at providing an attacking football even after playing with one more man in last 17 minutes. To some extend, Fenerbahce did create tactically number of chances but it was visible that it is lacking a player in the game who is capable to score goal out of nothing as their opponents did good defence also. This draw is much better than losing game so it can be seen as success as 8 points difference is not as drastic as 11 points but in other hands there was moments when Fenerbahce could reduce point difference to 5 points. Fenerbahce therefore did show very good performance at defence but was very poor at front which probably one of the main reason for 0:0 result.
Still, compare to previous games Fenerbahce head coach Aykut Kocaman can be glad for performance of the defenders and there is some signs of better days to come but it would be still long journey for a team.
