Kasimpasa showed how to play football to Galatasaray

Game for Galatasaray against Kasimpasa was very important game taking account that it was first game for the new head coach Mustafa Denizli. As been mentioned at the yesterday's blog the win for Galatasaray will not be easy as in 3 days Denizli would not have chance to solve team's issues. As was expected, Galatasaray played in similar manner as it did against Antalyaspor.

In fact, Kasimpasa could even win the game if there was not questionable position of goal which has crossed line after shot of Donk but referees decided not to count goal. Again, this game is difficult to judge regarding of performance of Mustafa Denizli, however there were signs of players to get some motivation which was observed at the game. After 1st goal, Burak Yilmaz has run straight to Denizli which showed that in mind-wise Galatasaray is becoming a team, however it is not present at the teamplay yet.

On the side of the Kasimpasa, in similar manner as it played against Besiktas few weeks ago it showed no scare against Galatasaray and played its football with creating good chances with converting both of them to goals. In fact, apart of some sections of the game, Kasimpasa had created positions.

Galatasaray now have 5-day break until Bursaspor game to make into more team play tactics by Denizli and has better control of the game. In other side, Kasimpasa has shown that it is into level to be at top 5 at the Turkish Super League standings with references to  performances against Besiktas and Galatasaray games.

Akhisar smart tactics has brought them deserved win

As been mentioned at yesterday blog, Akhisar Belediyespor have no reason at all to be worried in the game against Besiktas as it has very successful season. The most important thing about this game that Akhisar Belediyespor had created workable tactic against Besiktas which became clear after Gunay Vural on 4th minute.

To everyone who have watched game had realised that aim of Akhisar Belediyespor was to score fast goal (which it succeeded in perfect time) and then went defensive, possibly scoring 2nd goal (part which their also succeeded). Even through following tactics in sense of view could be boring and certainly for Besiktas supporters nerve-cracking it is best way to defend against teams which attack must stronger than you are. Lots of teams in Europe use this tactic against Barcelona, sometimes successful, sometimes not.

However, there were chances when Besiktas did have goaling positions, which sometimes were wasted and sometimes were at acute angles for players. As been mentioned earlier also Besiktas seems to lose pace at last weeks, and following some luck wins or help of opponents it would eventually lose after 10 weeks. The turn came into Akhisar Belediyespor who has good season and now 4 points behind of Besiktas and if Fenerbahce wins tomorrow will be 5 points behind leaders hence for now putting them into title race.

Meanwhile, Besiktas loss of 3 points could mean that club might lose leadership, since 6th week, to Fenerbahce if it succeeds to beat Trabzonspor. This is not great scenario taking account that after 1 week it will play (with Kayserispor in between) against Galatasaray.

Fenerbahce coming with big advantage but Trabzonspor has high motivation.

As been hinted in yesterday's blog, this week at the Super League is full of awaiting games at which results are very curious by clubs, fans and media outlets. And one of those games is undoubtedly Fenerbahce vs Trabzonspor, game of old rivals.

Despite of Fenerbahce having winning streak both in Turkey and Europe, Trabzonspor is having new beginning according to head coach Sadi Tekiloglu and undoubtedly it will try to win a game to carry on victory against Genclerbirligi. In addition with club going to CEO elections and heated rivarly between two clubs, which became even bigger after match-fixing scandal makes game more interesting.

Despite of all those advantages in sight of Trabzonspor, Fenerbahce is having great performance plus it plays at home. Media outlets finally seem to reduce criticism towards Vitor Pereira. Both sides will come out at game with confidence and high motivation, but winning streak of Fenerbahce gives bigger advantage in advance at playing home. It should also not be forgotten that if Fenerbahce win it would become new leaders, another motivational aspect to team.

Bursaspor is looking for experienced Turkish coach to lead its team for new glories.

Following termination of contract of Ertuglul Saglam, from Bursaspor head coach position club became looking for its new head coach. Currently names which seem to circulate at the media are Bulent Uygun, Shota Arveladze, Hamza Hamzaoglu and Tayfur Havutcu.  Most interesting aspect is that all names are Turkish coaches.

Bursaspor as the club has always, especially after league title in 2009-10 season, has been aiming for either league title or at top 5 position even through Turkish media did not have this expectations except in beginning of 2010-11 season. Therefore, it should not be surprising for club to aim for established names which their can appoint with its financial possibilities.

For now, the main candidate is been reported to be Bulent Uygun who is very talented head coach and will be capable to improve game at the Bursaspor and possibly bring spirit which was present at team back on 2010.

Galatasaray has new coach advantage but despite that Kasimpasa should not be ruled out.

Tomorrow's game between Galatasaray and Kasimpasa is most awaited game of the week, even more than Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor game on Monday. Main reason of this is that it is first game of newly-appointed head coach Mustafa Denizli.

It is especially difficult to predict this game because at first there is new head coach which always had affected positively to the teams in those situation but secondly club in game play is on mess and there is no way Mustafa Denizli could solve it in 3 days after appointment.

Biggest focus at the game will be given to the performance of Galatasaray in tactical way and how would key  players react to new head coach system. Galatasaray does have "new head coach" advantage but Kasimpasa chances should not be ignored.

Besiktas looks to be favourite but its not easy as it looks.

Ertuglul Saglam has worked on difficult conditions at Bursaspor

Following the defeat against Kayserispor with 2:1 scoreline, Bursaspor has decided to terminate contract with its head coach Ertuglul Saglam with mutual agreement. Ertuglul Saglam reign during this season has recieved lots of criticism especially from its fans.

However, Bursaspor poor performance this season, 5 wins after 13 weeks, should not only be put to the Ertuglul Saglam even through he has big role on this. During last summer transfer window Bursaspor has lost lots number of its key members, especially losing players such Ozan Tufan, Volkan Sen and Fernandao to Fenerbahce. In fact, it has lost so many key players  that when clubs wanted to purchase Serdar Aziz club had stated clearly it will not sell him. Now with much weaker squad, while opponents squads has become stronger it was expected for Bursaspor not to run for league title and have difficulty at the race of Europa League spots in this season.

Its needs to be reminded that Ertuglul Saglam as head coach of the team has made club champions of Turkey during 2009-10 season, only 5th team to achieve that. Following that, club had its classical mediocre performance but this fact should not be forgotten.

Fenerbahce has advantage for last game: home and unaimed opponent.

Both Fenerbahce and Besiktas need at least a point to qualify to round of 32 at the Europa League, however Fenerbahce task is much easier compare to Besiktas.

Before analysing lets take quick look at the table: Molde: 10 points, Fenerbahce: 8 points, Ajax: 6 points and Celtic 2 points. As Fenerbahce, is going to play at home against Celtic, team which has no chance to qualify it should be really expected that Fenerbahce will at least get a draw at its own home ground. Another advantage is great defence by club which didnt concedes hardly any goals in last weeks.

There is even chance that Fenerbahce might end group as the leaders after dissapointing start of group. However, it should be expected that Molde will not play like it did against Fenerbahce, during game against Ajax as it will try to end group as leaders. My expectation for last week game is Fenerbahce will win while Ajax will draw game.

Besiktas needs to provide great defence against Sporting

As been stated at Fenerbahce analysis, Besiktas task is much harder even if its leader at the group. It just needs one point but it is against  difficult Sporting who will fight until last minute at home to get round 32 qualifying spot.

Now lets once again look at the table. Leader is Besiktas: 10 points, Lokomotiv: 9, Sporting: 8 and Skenderbreu with 3 points. Assuming that Lokomotiv would win Skenderbreu, Besiktas needs to be especially careful at the game against its opponents.

It could be argued that Sporting as opponent is harder than Lokomotiv so therefore it wont be easy task for Besiktas at all during final game. But in other side, if Besiktas be careful at defence it should be able to get round of 32  spot but it wont be easy.

Fenerbahce used smart tactics at difficult conditioned pitch. 

Fenerbahce needed to win against Molde at Europa League game tonight despite of difficulties such as an opponent, synthetic field and weather conditions and it achieved to do so with 2:0 scoreline. This was probably only game so far at the European competitons which Fenerbahc e deserved to win.

At the first half it was obvious that Fenerbahce had difficulty at adapting to the wet ground even through it had control of the game. Luckily, for Fenerbahce, it seemed that Molde which used to this conditions had some difficulties also, or it could be relaxation of qualifying from groups stage.
Regarding of 2nd half, Fenerbahce has became going more forward which let to goals by Fernandao and later debut goal by Ozan Tufan to empty net.

Molde as stated earlier did allow a bit  for Fenerbahce to win game but still Fenerbahce has played a great football once again showing lots of improvement at its performance. It was game which was hard to control ball especially on the ground but with tactical movement Fenerbahce showed great control of game.

Now, Fenerbahce need at least to draw against Celtic who has no chance to qualify prior to last game in group stage in Istanbul. Fenerbahce is in control of the group and it should play like that in last game against Celtic.

Once again Besiktas provided attacking football against Skenderbreu

As was expected Besiktas has got a win against its Albanian opponents Skenderbreu at the Europa League game with 2:0 scoreline. With following result and Sporting winning Lokomotiv, Besiktas now only need draw against Portuguese opponents.

During this game, Besiktas has created lots of attacks to which it was only able to convert two goals, both scored by Cenk Tosun. Both at the Turkish Super League and Europa League it became used for Besiktas to provide attacks however as been realised that conversion of this to goals has been went down in past weeks. This issue should not make problems at Super League but could at upcoming games in Europa League including against Sporting.

As was expected, Skenderbreu also provided some organised football after surprising win against Sporting but with supporters behind Besiktas had used effective attacks.

Right now Besiktas has got a good motivation with slight low performance at Super League and Europa League. This win and closeness to get to play-off stage at tournament should provide good performance at the Super League this weekend.

Mustafa Denizli has lot to do at the Galatasaray.

Following game against Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray has recieved vast amount of criticism from media outlets and from players themselves, especially from Wesley Snejder. Everyone at the club and media agree that newly-appointed Mustafa Denizli needs to start new beginning at the club.

Galatasaray has shown one of the poorest game against Atletico Madrid in this season. Spanish side has played like it was a training game for them and if it wanted it could win the game with bigger margin. Galatasaray has waved white flag in today's game. 

As Atletico Madrid was coming out for very important game at the Champions League against Galatasaray, to the surprise and joy to them it ended playing one of its easiest games in the season. As Galatasaray, didnt provide any danger to Atletico Madrid it turned out to be training game for them.

As been stated in yesterday's blog, it was expected that Galatasaray will play poorly without head coach and regarding of the condition the club is but this play was even poorer than weakest link at group Astana. Taking account that thing could be go wrong, there was not even belief and attempt to bring something from Galatasaray at this game. It looked like club has thrown white flag after conceding 1st and especially 2nd goal.

Quite naturally it is expected that club will improve as Mustafa Denizli will be appointed as head coach but this game and previous game in Super League against Antalyaspor has shown that firstly Claudio Taffarel is not ready to be head coach and seconly newly appointed head coach has many things to do regarding of motivation of the team.

Now Galatasaray fans and players might talk about chances in Europa League but they still needs to not lose Astana in final game, and it will need lots of concentration as Astana will play its best football in Istanbul next month.

Fenerbahce needs to get a win against surprise package of the group.

Fenerbahce will play among the most surprising teams at this season at the Europa League: Molde. Prior to start of group stages, everyone thought that Molde would be clear outsider but quite opposite it became first team to qualify to play-off stage at this group, with 2 games in hand.

The fact that Molde has qualified doesnt make Fenerbahce job easier as it is obvious that club will aim at top spot. In other side, if Fenerbahce wants to carry on Europa League after December then it must win today's game to make its status more certain before game against Celtic.

As, Molde head coach Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has mentioned himself, Fenerbahce is currently during great work defensively. This is strongest strength against club who scores lots of goals at this campaign. Another important fact, is the weather in Norway. Fenerbahce players are not used to cold and icy conditions therefore this will be another opponent to club but as long club focusses it should get very important win against surprised package.

Early goal by Besiktas should bring easy win against Skenderbreu.

Compare to Molde, Besiktas opponent and outsider of group Skenderbreu was not available to provide any surprises apart of unexpected win against Sporting. Of course, job for Besiktas will not be easy and harder than in first game as Skenderbreu has lots of motivation after winning Sporting, but Besiktas classic attacking play should not raise problems for them.

Most important thing for Besiktas is to keep concentration and start finding attacks with help of Mario Gomez. Quaresma and others in which case it will be easy game. However, it is important to note that Besiktas is currently losing tempo in recent games so maybe it wont be reasonable to expect lots of attacks by Besiktas.

Another fact is importance of scoring early goal as each delayed minute by Besiktas would provide confidences to the opponents. But Besiktas should get win tomorrow.

Atletico Madrid is going to play with weak Galatasaray.

Following 12th week of Super League, most talked event was a penalty kick given to Besiktas during game against Sivasspor. Foremost, its important to note that, and as most critics in Turkey state, it wasnt penalty kick and decision by referee Halis Ozkahya has undoubetly played a crucial role at the game.

Sivasspor head coach Okan Buruk has stated that he has seen mediocre teams to be treated like that during games against big 3 teams in last three years and at his new club he needs to get used to this. Unfair refereeing undoubetly affects to the result of the games and even championships.

Galatasaray has announced Mustafa Denizli as new head coach.

As was expected, Galatasaray has announced today that it had started negotiations with head coach Mustafa Denizli regarding of him getting top job at the team. The following announcement has come after several hours when Denizli has met one-on-one with Galatasaray CEO Dursun Ozbek.

As soon as, resignation of the Hamza Hamzaoglu has took place last week, the talks regarding of appointing Mustafa Denizli has been leaked to the media  and even through Denizli has declined the conversations with club have took place on Saturday, today he had said that he will start his 3rd reign at club after Champions League game against Atletico Madrid and added that contract would last for 1.5 years.

With circumstances which is club currently at, undoubtedly Mustafa Denizli is best option for the team as he was free and was football analyst at TRT football programme "Stadyum" among the fact that he is one of the best coaches in Turkey right now. Mustafa Denizli is capable of making club go forward and get good results in this season.

Besiktas has got crucial win and continues its leadership.

Yesterday's win against Sivasspor was very important result for Besiktas after losing its leadership for one day to Fenerbahce. But even more importantly it has won a game which it was playing poorly. Even through wind was playing a negative role at the game, it is not main reason for Besiktas as it has shown poor performances in last few games.

Apart of scoring penalty, Mario Gomez had one of the most uneffective games since joining Besiktas. But this performance should be treated with understanding as he went through difficult times with Paris attacks and Hamburg bomb scare during international friendly games. In fact, Gomez coming out and providing good performance should be respected and not criticised.

Thursday Europa League game against Skenderbreu meanwhile provides good chance for Besiktas to get good result as opponent provides this chance and possibly start playing its attacking football once again, as it did few weeks.
New beginning for Trabzonspor.

Currently at Super League, the most problematic team undoubetly is Trabzonspor and hence its win against Genclerbirligi was a crucial one. As Trabzonspor head coach Sadi Tekelioglu has said this win worth 33 points and not 3.

Mehmet Ekici goal at last minute could also mean that Trabzonspor might restart its season and in few weeks get rid of relegation area and possibly aim at top half of the table. It could be argued that Trabzonspor didnt provide great game at empty stadium but the win brings incredible morale for a team which it urgently needed.

Despite of poor game, Besiktas managed to get an important win against Sivasspor.

As Fenerbahce has won yesterday against Mersin IdmanYurdu with an impressive win and got 1 point day before Besiktas game, it was important for latter team to get a win as to carry on its aim to become champions this season.

However, Besiktas has carried on showing downside of its performance even through it has won game with 2:0 scoreline. Compare to previous games, Besiktas had difficulty at finding goal scoring position and to some extend wrong given penalty by referee at 41st minute to Besiktas has played an important role at the end of the game. This should be taken into note that after edgy start Sivasspor has managed to play in same level as Besiktas.

In general, referee of the game, Huseyin Gocek,  has got into ahead of the game with his wrong decisions such as not given foul next to penalty area to Quardiola in the first half and some edgy decision towards Sivasspor during game. However, Sivasspor as the team had trouble at having last touches at attacking or otherwise it could also manage to score 2-3 goals at today's game.

Despite of fact that Besiktas didnt play great football, its still got an important morale prior to Europa League game against Skenderbreu which it must win if it wants to get into play-off stage.

Despite of all problems, Trabzonspor managed to get win in the end of the game.

Compare to Galatasaray, Trabzonspor has much more difficult game according to its circumstances. With number of players not recieving wages, change of head coach and a game without its supporters provided everything for the Turkish Super League against Genclerbirligi to be a tough game.
However, the goal of Mustafa Ekici just in the end of the game has brought an important but more crucially a morale which team needed urgently.

Until the last minutes, the game was going into same level with lack of attacks of both sides. All of the factor which were presented at previous paragraph played an important role while empty stadium was bad news for both teams as it tends to be in football games regardless of level. However, in last 10 minutes of the game Trabzonspor started attacking actively attacking which was given by last minute goal by Mustafa Ekici.

Trabzonspor new coach Sadi Tekiloglu has played his first game with team with a win and surely made team to believe it can win even in those conditions. It is important for Trabzonspor to go forward in football way if it doesnt want to find itself in relegation zone. Today's win is an important win for direction to go up.

Main reason for draw result for Galatasaray is shock and low morale. 

After Galatasaray head coach Hamza Hamzaoglu has been fired from the club, the game between Galatasaray and Antalyaspor has become one of the most awaited games of the 12th week of the Super League. Biggest question was how would club react to the events which happened at the club.

The game itself ended up being very open with both sides finding positions but it visible that Galatasaray players did been negatively affected in morale by the surprising leave of Hamzaoglu. Unfortunately, administrators dont ask players as it is clear that players wanted for the coach to stay at the team. In addition that Claudio Taffarel is great goalkeeper coach but has not enough experience to manage whole team. All of this dissapointment and low morale had led players to end game with 3:3, even if finding three goals.

On other side, Antalyaspor has managed this crises situation on its hand especially at 2nd half as it realised that it could best time to win Galatasaray at any point of the season, hence it could consider itself lucky. Samuel Eto'o experience and quality has also helped to push club to get to its maximum performance. In overall, the result has appeared with Antalyaspor using low morale of Galatasaray to its advantage.

Talks about finding head coach for the Galatasaray is currently the main talking point at the Turkish football in those days. For now it is clear that the main two names which country is looking for is Mustafa Denizli or Lucien Favre.

For now, Mustafa Denizli is much closer as vast amount of adminstrators are wanting name which is experienced, knows Turkish league and from Turkey. According to rumours, Mustafa Denizli is looking forward to be head coach of club.

Meanwhile, Mustafa Denizli is only head coach in Turkey who has won league titles with different "big 3" clubs which makes him special to some extend. For now, Denizli seems to be best option for club.

Antalyaspor doesnt have external problems to compare to Galatasaray.

After 3 days of retiring its head coach Hamza Hamzaoglu in suprising manner, Galatasaray is going to play a crucial game against Antalyaspor. As it was announced previously by club administrators during tomorrow's game head coach will be club's goalkeeper coach Claudio Taffarel.

Even through Antalyaspor was most talked team in summer transfer window due of its transfers especially by signing Samuel Eto'o, it still didnt provide great football performance in the games against big 3 teams, as it lost to Fenerbahce and Besiktas. However, it is uncertain how would Galatasaray without head coach will be playing against them.

Once again administrator ego became victim for head coach of club.

Yesterday's shocking news regarding of resignation by Galatasaray of its head coach Hamza Hamzaoglu still recieves shocks by some players, fans and some parts of administrators at the team. For instance, Tayfur Demir, administrator responsible for finances has resigned purely for sending away Hamzaoglu from club this morning .

According to media, the main reason of resignation was the way Hamzaoglu has talked to media recently, which raises questions of hierarchy at the club which was created by the club CEO Dursun Ozbek. He was specifically unhappy with comments which were said by Hamzaoglu that he would sign Umut Bulut even if contract was not automatically extended. Ozbek asked how he has right to give such a comment to which Hamzaoglu has rightly responded, "if I am head coach I can decide myself with who to extend contracts with".

If this story is true, than once again the ego of administrators at Turkish club has shown itself beyond head coach and getting into too much focus into controlling football team rather than give it to the head coach that role. Another rumour at the media is to get rid of also from Fatih Terim factor, as Hamzaoglu was asisstant coach to Terim at Turkish National Team. This story seems to be less believable.

It is hard to be head coach in Turkey.

It is hard to be head coach of the Turkish Super League as this season has shown to us so far. With only 11 weeks to be played during 2015-2016 there was arleady 7 resignation of head coaches. With Eskisehirspor changing head coaches twice so far this season.

In Turkey, especially if you are big 4 club, administrators are awaiting good results from you and if you dont give it to them their will send you away, without care if you had legitimate plan for future of the club. Same happened to Shota Arveladze with Trabzonspor.

Whoever, comes to Galatasaray now, as media shows to one of most successful Turkish head coach Mustafa Denizli  to be main candidate, he will need to know that if he stays for longer than one year he might consider himself lucky.

Antalyaspor is like MLS club for older players

Today Antalyaspor CEO Gultekin Gencer has stated that he has agreed to sign Andreea Pirlo and
Ronaldinho to the club but the only issues is money. After signing this summer Samuel Eto'o this story of both players joining Antalyaspor has become more believable than it would been back in summer.

Most of the clubs in American football (MLS) are signing players who are close to retire but have great past and could be referred as football superstars. This seems to be method which Antalyaspor is going for now. Its mainly focuses to bring good name for the club name rather than results at the Super League.

Presumably, players such as Eto'o, Ronaldinho and Pirlo, regarding Gencer words are true, seem to see Antalya as good city to end its important careers with full of successes. But it is unlucky they will end season with silverware as Raul did recently.
