 Fenerbahce got important win against Rizespor at difficult field conditions.

Fenerbahce has got crucial 1:0 win against Rizespor during Super League 22nd week due of great free-kick from Valencia which been counted as own goal for Akkan as Fenerbahce has got into leadership for at least 24 hours.

With games to be played in frequent period of time and not very good condition of the field which been taken due of some pressure among heavy rain didnt allow for Fenerbahce to provide very dominant game and there been times when Rizespor did look to be slighly better game. Stating that it needs to be noted that Fenerbahce did provide good prevention of Rizespor to get full control of the game with providing some careful game. In overall, game been played with low opportunities for both sides so it shouldnt be surprising for goal to come from set piece which did come from great free-kick. Still, Fenerbahce could be criticised once again not to show high dominant attacking game but it didnt lose for weeks which it does provide which side continues to show great game gaining leadership with waiting for Besiktas to lose points against Trabzonspor. As been noted on previous posts its crucial for Fenerbahce to get points before Mesut Ozil starts playing and its achieves it.

It needs to be noted that Rizespor did provide strong game with providing high tempo showing that side does focus to get at least point but it did fail to get into moment of getting last shots to goal which prevented them. But still side did show positive attitude which provides hope for upcoming games.

Fenerbahce does provide showing good performance with winning games getting with limited game and contiunues strongly for its top race with also giving present to Erol Bulut's birthday.

Henry Onyekuru has great return to Galatasaray. 

Galatasaray has crucial win against Gaziantep during Super League 22nd week at the game where Fernando Muslera and only few days ago joined Henry Onyekuru has become main actors of such win.

If Fernando Muslera performance which led for very crucial saves especially from 1st half could be seen as normal factor for this team, return of Henry Onyekuru which did come out on 2nd half after joining team only few days before this game. Henry Onyekuru is interesting player as he does seem to be showing top level performance scoring goals at Galatasaray while not showing such level of game in Europe. This could be done due of understading which their have with Fatih Terim. In fact, Onyekuru did join side without much playing time as he didnt recieve at Monaco so such return is pretty impresive. Of course, performance of Kerem Akturkoglu also needs to be praised with great 2 assists showing good understanding with Onyekuru. In overall, however it is hard to state specifically that Galatasaray did show very good game especially on 1st half with opponent making more dangerous opportunities.

Still, Galatasaray did get very good win and could enter to pretty tough period with high hopes and morale.

Trabzonspor without doubt needs win more than Besiktas

Turkish Super League 22nd week game between Besiktas and Trabzonspor without doubt does play very important role for both clubs as win for Besiktas would bring them back to top of the league while Trabzonspor would reduce point difference with leaders to 9 points.

When looking in the positioning of the league, it could be noted that this game is being more crucial to Trabzonspor in sense that loss of the game could push them further from top of the league hence leading them opportunities for title even less while win would put them among top 4 contenders without doubt. While if Besiktas does lose, it would lose its leadership but with 19 weeks still to be paid 1 point would not be seen too much disastrous. Hence, it would be Trabzonspor which would be risking during whole game which needs to be focussing into win and hence provide more brave football with looking for goal. It could be tough as Besiktas does provide very good attacking game so it is still need to focus into defence. Area which Besiktas could use effectively meanwhile with counter attacks. Both sides does also come with high motivation and confidence which could lead to good exciting game.

Trabzonspor without doubt comes out more to game which it needs to win and hence would need to show aggresive brave game.

Henry Onyekuru got 3 points for Galatasaray

Galatasaray get pretty difficult win against Gaziantep during Super League 22nd week at the game where Henry Onyekuru who has only returned to team from Monaco only few days ago has found 2 goals.

When looking overall it is difficult to state that Galatasaray who has shown strong performance as crucial saves from Fernando Muslera, being once again player who keeps his side inside the game and sometimes even being reason for win continues even after injury to play this role. It needs to be noted that when looking at the game statistically Galatasaray did have bigger possesion but apart of opportunities from Henry Oneykuru it didnt create many opportunities with also getting high number of offsides which led for them for 4 goals to be disallowed due of tactically good fake offside attempts even through it did cost them goal on 1st position with letting Onyekuru to be ahead slightly. Meanwhile, high number of saves from Fernando Muslera with some being from difficult position does show that Galatasaray didnt provide very good game at defence which does show that most criticism should be given to them. Therefore, it could be noted that this win did come from 2 players which are been Fernando Muslera and strong return of Henry Oneykuru to side. 

Gaziantep despite of loss did provide very good performance without doubt creating high amount of very good opportunities and it did need to be noted that it did provide view that side did provide good defensive game and does provide good hope for upcoming games.

Galatasaray did get crucial win which kept them at top race with such important win with biggest gain from this side is performance of Henry Onyekuru return to his team.

Fenerbahce will be focused into adapting system closer to me Mesut Ozil even if he will not play.

Fenerbahce will get an opportunity to get into top of the table even if for 24 hours at least as it going to be playing against Rizespor during its 1st game of 2nd half of the season against Rizespor.

Even through Mesut Ozil will not be taken into squad with high opportunity, it is without doubt that Erol Bulut would be looking for possible solutions and tactical changes to find ways how to make team into more adaptable and possibly providing much more forward-seeking game. Therefore, there could be some tactical and squad changes which would be coming with surely 1st aim to get win but also to experiment without providing too much risk into alternative changes which would be used when Mesut Ozil would be joining team. Trabzonspor got Turkish Super Cup with confident game

Trabzonspor has won its 9th Turkish Super Cup title, with including its previous name of President Cup, with beating Basaksehirspor with 2:1 scoreline where both sides didnt particularly show best game but Trabzonspor compare to opponent has been closer side for win.

Trabzonspor did show pretty patient game with controlling ball which it needs to be noted has been difficult for both sides due of weather conditions in the game and it did look much more confident and creative side when creating opportunities with finding well-deserved and fought two goals during game which also made it clear that team right now is being on right track as becoming side which start showing pretty confident and strong game on all fields. This without doubt did come from Abdullah Avci discipline training and also game plan.Meanwhile this cup has been 1st cup for Abdullah Avci which did put himself into name of this club and getting it against side where he worked for long time would be greatful for him.

Trabzonspor did get important win and also would come out to crucial game against Besiktas with confidence and morale but it would be much difficult game.

Basaksehirspor needs to focus to own game rather then referees.

Even through referee of game didnt provide very good game and also generally are not being very good during this season, blaming to loss from Basaksehirspor from Okan Buruk is being done too much.

Even through Erol Bulut did state that Trabzonspor been great side and deserved win, speaking too much about referee does provide some inclination that in his view he did affect to result. It needs to be noted, sadly, referee of the game didnt provide very good performance with making some poor decisions but it is been done to both sides which is hardly to give entire loss to referee which has been done before also from Okan Buruk. Galatasaray and Gaziantep expects to be pretty exciting game.

Galatasaray would be starting 2nd half of this season with Gaziantep game which could turn out to be to be tough game as their opponents are in pretty good form even after Sumudica leaving club.

Galatasaray is being pretty unstable side during this season with being in one game side which is hard to beat to side which doesnt do much to win game and when playing against tough opponent like Gaziantep it needs to be showing its best game. Both sides without doubt are coming to game with good motivation and confidence which would have some impact with how side to be developing with being game with possibly high amount of opportunities with attacking game. Galatasaray would need to get win to keep their race for top to keep arrive while being them from Gaziantep would have strong morale and confidence boost for upcoming games for sure.

Trabzonspor did get Turkish Super Cup with providing strong patient game.

Previous season Turkish Cup winners Trabzonspor has won Turkish Super Cup against Super League winners Basaksehirspor with 2:1 at the game which been played under wet snow which did provide some difficult moments especially with vision.

With Trabzonspor providing signifacant much better performance in recent weeks with signs of improvement while Basaksehirspor does provide slightly unwanted results with contuining losing points in league, Trabzonspor did come out better opportunity to get win. It needs to be noted that even through its hard to state that Trabzonspor did dominate game entirely, its still been much better side with providing better defence and much more attacking game even through it did show slow and controllable game. Meanwhile, it needs to be noted that penalty which was given against them even through was right decision, referee did ignore 1st half position where roles been different, as referee didnt provide penalty to Trabzonspor even through its been exactly same position. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor head coach Abdullah Avci did win his 1st title in his coaching career where did show much better tactical game compare to opponents.

Basaksehirspor on they part did continue with showing not very effective game against Trabzonspor and even through it could be argued it did provide some resistance with Trabzonspor preventing them to get entire dominance, but its hard to state that it ever got to provide some strong attacking game with finding low number of opportunities. Still, needs to be noted that as game progressed it did look to be more or less into better control of game when comparing to 1st half but still it could be stated that at best which Basaksehirspor could be hoping with this performance is to get extra-time from this game. Meanwhile, argument between Basaksehirspor and Trabzonspor coaching stuff which took following Trabzonspor 2nd goal doesnt provide positive view as it needs to be more calm with such needless agressive behaviour will not be. Basaksehirspor did aim to have new start for 2nd half of Super League season with this game but it didnt manage that too much from this game but still can do same starting from 22nd week of Super League.

Even through differences during game were not very big, still Trabzonspor did show its been side closer for win and with much more got its well-deserved win and surely would be extra motivation and confidence for 2nd half of season.

Mesut Ozil would be showing his strongest game for Fenerbahce.

Fenerbahce has officially signed Mesut Ozil for 3.5 years with having big signing ceremony with journalists during which even through in pretty modest way which been organised then was mentioned by media, but still was pretty well-organised taking in consideration of Covid19.

 Fenerbahce did show good game against Kayserispor.

Fenerbahce has provided its most organised and strong performance during Super League 21st week game against struggling in table Kayserispor but in same time in recent good form showing right tempo and winning game with 3:0 scoreline.

It does look like signing of Mesut Ozil and him viewing game on stands did provide motivation to rest of the side with focusing into providing strong concentrated but in same time attacking performance. It could be argued that Kayserispor didnt provide much resistance to Fenerbahce but its been visible that with how opponents played, Fenerbahce did manage to show strong confident performance as game been progressing and hence side provided right focus into game. One of the main players in the game been Atilla Szalai who did provide strong game at defence with high focus and understanding without providing any mistakes in whole game, while Pelkas at least Mesut Ozil would come into regular play would be key player for this side.

Fenerbahce did provide strong confident performance and would be expected to continue provide pressure to leaders Besiktas in upcoming weeks. 

Basaksehirspor would need to give full focus to Trabzonspor game.

Turkish Super Cup which due of Covid19 circumstances would be played in more unusual date of January, as it is used to be taking place prior to start of new season would be taking place with last season surprising Super League  winners Basaksehirspor and Turkish Cup winners Trabzonspor.

Basaksehirspor even through did show some good performance both in league and Champions League this season, in overall is having very dissapointing season with being 20 points behind league leaders Besiktas with showing pretty low tempo performance without much creativity up front. Of course, with Super Cup also could be providing new focus and motivation for rest of the season, and hence it would not see this game as opportunity to get 1 title in 2021 at least, but also using it as turning point for 2nd half of football season. In here it would be important how focused would be Basaksehirspor players as it would need to show its best game against highly organised Trabzonspor at defence and attack. It would be important for Basaksehirspor among showing great game also and connected to this to show high concentration.

Basaksehirspor are coming as underdog but it does have capacity to get surprising result against Trabzonspor at Super Cup.

Trabzonspor is much more organised in recent weeks then its opponents.

Trabzonspor on other hand are showing very good performance with Abdullah Avci and would be coming out as favourites during Super Cup game against Basaksehirspor with how side is organised lately.

This blog has been criticising Abdullah Avci first game at Trabzonspor stating that its been focussed too much into defence without much attacking game, but it started solving this issues in recent weeks without doubt with getting important balance at two positions with finding some goals. What happened in Turkish football today? 25/01/2021

 Fenerbahce provided high level tempo game against Kayserispor.

Fenerbahce has provided one of its most organised with high tempo during this season as it got confident win against Kayserispor with 3:0 scoreline, ending 1st half of the season with 2 points behind Besiktas and most importantly did it with good play.

It is true that Kayserispor didnt provide much resistance to its opponent, but this blog always focussed into what side does itself regardless what opponent does, and it did look like that Fenerbahce didnt only come out to get win but get with providing positive attacking game with providing organisation with fast tempo game. One of the main statistics which proves this is for side getting highest number of passes during this season not letting Kayserispor to get control of the game and doing its best for Kayserispor not to get any confident control as opponent didnt show much. It does look like Mesut Ozil does provide right motivation to rest of the side as most players would need to be on highest level when he joins, especially who play in his position. Meanwhile, Atilla Szalai who played his 1st game in his new club did show great preparedness and even through opponent didnt provide much issues, he did look to be highly focused and understanding of his role. Even this game is not good reference, he still provided good potential for his defensive position.

Kayserispor on their return didnt provide much resistance to opponent with also conceding an early goal and possibly showing too much respect. Even through Kayserispor is located at risk position it did get good results recently,so such poor game could be slightly surprising.

Fenerbahce provided one of its best performance during this season with focussing into high tempo attacking game and without doubt did end at high note with being 2 points behind leaders Besiktas.

Besiktas showed strong character against Goztepe.

Besiktas which looked to be pretty tired from recent games still provided crucial character against Goztepe with getting back from 1:0 scoreline to win game with 2:1 scoreline during 2nd half, hence ending 1st half of season as league leaders.

During January period which does provide very intense games with tight schedule, Besiktas did look to be least affected until yesterday but it did provide some signs of fatique during game yesterday. Interestingly Besiktas did provide better 1st half which it did lose but not being in same level during 2nd half. Without doubt, this comeback among Goztepe also showing signs of fatique on their part during 2nd half, did come from focus and willingness to win game which without doubt does provide important character when finding for title especially when game is not going as planned. Besiktas with realising that there is long time until end of the season, does provide high performance and being closest right now who could be noted that provides league winners performance.

With Besiktas having long-awaited week break it would be able to work in better conditions to Trabzonspor game which would be big advantage to them for sure.

Galatasaray 1:0 Football Field 

Galatasaray without doubt did get very important win against Yeni Malatyaspor as it didnt only struggle against tough opponent but also into football field which been in pretty poor condition.

In fact, with all respect to Yeni Malatyaspor which does occassionally show good performance, field condition has been most crucial barrier for Galatasaray as it couldnt provide high tempo and creative game but despite of that did have control of the ball with some lack of creating opportunities. It did need to be showing some extra effort and extra creativity with good shot from far for goal to come in such field conditions and it did manage to do that with Ryan Babel. Its been important for Galatasaray to get this win as it kept 5 point difference against leaders Besiktas and get crucial goal in game which did look like to be going for draw. This game did been also good lesson as it could be played in similar condition possibly in this season again.

This win for Galatasaray is being well-fought with finding solution of this difficult condition of the field thanks to Ryan Babel goal.

Besiktas got comeback against Goztepe despite of tiredness. 

Besiktas has got win against Goztepe with 2:1 scoreline finishing as league leaders 1st half of the season as it shown comeback with two goals during 2nd half against opponent which showed good resistance.

With very tight scheduling of games which league has right now with how sides are showing high level game in regular basis quite natural it would provide tiredness to players which become pretty obvious with Besiktas as it physically had issue to show high level game with not getting tempo which it shown in recent weeks with very limited opportunity. With Goztepe looking physically in better condition it did get important goal towards end of 1st half. However, despite of tiredness which was clear with Besiktas it still was detirmed to turn around game and with number of substitutes 1st goal did come with Adem Ljajic which with this goal would get morale after not very good with winning goal coming with Vincent Aboubakar. Besiktas did get win with getting focus into keeping it leadership in the league and motivation.In addition, tiredness of Goztepe towards led for them to get this crucial win and comeback as difficult schedule for all sides would be continued.

Goztepe needs to be noted did provide pretty good strong performance against Besiktas with controlling game especially during 1st half but signs of tiredness did come as game progressed and couldnt spot opponent which showed better game towards end.

Galatasaray did get important 3 points in pretty tough game.

Galatasaray has won tough game against Yeni Malatyaspor thanks to 88th minute goal from Ryan Babel at the game where it was struggling both against football field and strong defence performance of opponent.

Galatasaray which for most of the game from recent weeks didnt manage to show its attacking high tempo of the game since football field at Malatya has been in very poor condition and prevented without doubt for both sides to show positive style game. Hence, Galatasaray which even through did look better side for most amount of game, apart of one section in 2nd half, still didnt get its own dominance of game in attacks focusing into distance shooting to hope for mistakes and in fact turn disadvantage ints own hand due of balls being able to boune. In fact, goal did come on this condition as it has shot from Ryan Babel with gaining certainly 3 points in the game which it did look like it would be losing 2 points with Galatasaray once again keeping themselves for league leadership spot in the end of the 1st half of the season. Bad news for Galatasaray been injury of Sofiane Feghouli who would be missing 2-3 weeks in period where Galatasaray will be playing important games.

Yeni Malatyaspor been focussed into defence game looking for possibly Galatasaray to make some mistakes which in fact it did get in 2nd half but it could be admitted that it didnt provide enough pressure to opponents. 

Galatasaray without doubt did get 3 points in such difficult condition game and hence would see this as +3 points for its title race without doubt in the end.

Trabzonspor are showing strong improvement by each week and raises tempo.

Trabzonspor continues showing improvement with its performance on weekly basis with getting win against Genclerbirligi with 2:1 where apart end of the game did provide strong attacking performance.

Without doubt Genclerbirligi is continuing to get closer into ideal collective game as it head coach Abdullah Avci only lost where it did provide poorest game with him with Galatasaray.
