What happened in Turkish football today? 06.05.2017
Kasimpasa has used an empty stadium of Turk Telekom Arena into their advantage against Galatasaray.
Playing its home game against Kasimpasa during Super League 30th week game, Galatasaray didnt manage to provide a top football and during whole game didnt provide any upper hand as it has lost with 3:1 scoreline.
Taking account that Kasimpasa is more used to play with low number of fans, it was expected for them to get into more favourable mood but Galatasaray didnt manage to get into the game and has provided pretty ineffective game. With winning with comfortable scoreline of 5:0 last week against Bursaspor it was expected that Galatasaray would show a great game today but it has once again moved backwards and made it clear that it has serious issues within the team and also tactically. Since Galatasaray did show generally poor performance so far at this season and has lately managed to win game against teams who are having poor form does provide some serious worry for the team. Meanwhile, red card which was recieved by Tolga Cigerci just Castro has scored 2nd goal for Kasimpasa has made task even more difficult. It does seem to be carrying on slower football and not creating much of the chances at the front.
Meanwhile, Kasimpasa with being used to play without fans for most of their games per season has used this advantage at the game where fans were not allowed to the game. It needs to be stated that Kasimpasa would see following game as training for Turkish Cup semi-final 2nd leg for Konyaspor and possibly final and regained great motivation for rest of the season.
Galatasaray and Trabzonspor fight for 4th place is still carrying on with 4 points between both sides and last 4 games would be crucial for both sides as their winning points would affect their aims for upcoming season.
Kayserispor has won a crucial game agaisnt Trabzonspor for survival at the league.
Turkish Super League 30th week game between Trabzonspor and Kayserispor has been ended up being an very exciting game with the duel between two sides which game was very important. Kayserispor, which still aims to make sure its stays for next season at the top division has managed to win game with 3:2 scoreline with the help of Lawal goal on 75th minute.
As been stated at the blog yesterday, Trabzonspor was planning to coming out as favourite due of their recent performance and general mood of the team but the team which has been praised for most of the 2nd half has now lost 4 points in last 2 games. It needs to be stated that Trabzonspor did manage to keep fast tempo game especially at 1st half but since Kayserispor has come out to the game at the same mood it has ended having some trouble at the back. In fact, Trabzonspor did show some aspects of problems at the defence and possibly team is going through tiredness since it was performing top football since January. Stating that the season is at the period where it needs to get points or it might not end season at top 4 which it has set its aim and now needs to win rest of 4 games to have any chance.
Kayserispor it needs to be stated has got a very important win to keep itself at the Super League next season and with appointment of Mesut Bakkal it has won 2 games and started providing much more positive football. The team is in right mood to achieve that.
The game which was crucial for both teams has led teams to give their best football but it became clear that Kayserispor wanted to win game a bit more than Trabzonspor.
Besiktas would come out to the game with much more pressure against Fenerbahce.
Long-awaited derby game between Besiktas and Fenerbahce which result could change character of whole fight for league title in last 4 weeks will be taking place tomorrow. Besiktas would come out in the mood to keep its 4 point advantage over Basaksehirspor while Fenerbahce win might provide, even through small chance, to get possibly title at the end of the season.
Besiktas as it is known plans to win game and has got into winning mood without allowing Basaskehirspor to provide them much stress for the end of the week, even through this possibility has been created by themselves in last week. Regardless, how Besiktas would straightforwardly look for a win and still has control at its hand, Besiktas does have some pressure after Basaksehirspor win, even through it also provided some to Fenerbahce regarding of 2nd place aim for them. Fenerbahce does have an advantage of providing much better football in last weeks and start winning and among those is statistics of Senol Gunes having trouble with winning Fenerbahce in his coaching career.
Fenerbahce would come out with confident and possibly with lesser pressure as the loss could directly would affect to the team. To some extend, it would be nervous game and as been seen Fenerbahce at those circumstances seems to make it into their own advantage.
This one it needs to be stated is to close to call by but Besiktas does have advantage of being at the top of league and playing at home. But we would see how it would turn this into their own hands.
