Fenerbahce has won Genclerbirligi while fans were supporting Euroleague victory in the streets.
Fenerbahce has regained its 3rd place with a win against Genclerbirligi during Super League 32nd week away game while most of the Fenerbahce supporters were in the streets celebrating club's and Turkish first ever Euroleague title.
With Fenerbahce basketball team making history at the Euroleague, while football was not able to compete at the similar manner as it had very poor season. Coming to the game, the whole game has been in a slow tempo which has been observed to be accepted by both teams which led for the game to be going on with lack of dangerous chances. Fenerbahce player Robin van Persie with scoring a goal and also penalty kick which was gained at the corner of the penalty zone from Ismail Koybasi, has led Fenerbahce to win an important game despite of poor performance. Once again it could been stated that Fenerbahce has closed season with its mindset but being aware that if finishing at the 3rd place it could get to the Europa League without qualifiers (if Basaksehirspor wins Turkish Cup), would keep them motivated for last 2 games at season.Fenerbahce is currently 4 points away for securing its 3rd place due of have advantage against Galatasaray if it end season with same points.
Genclerbirligi which has secured ending season at the middle of the table and only playing for prestige and finishing at the high note has accepted slow tempo which also went into their hand as it was close to end game with a draw. Genclerbirligi would aim to end season at high point with last 2 games but as been mentioned without aims its hard to stay focus.
Fenerbahce would now play an important game against Trabzonspor at the next week and taking account that last game would be against Adanaspor, it would be certain to state that next week win would secure them at the 3rd place.
Basaksehirspor has arleady mark history by ending season at 2nd place.
After Basaksehirspor has ended Super League 32nd week game against Trabzonspor with a goalless draw, difference between them and leaders Besiktas has been raised to 4 points which means that if Besiktas win against Gaziantepspor on 28th May it would become champions with 1 game in hand.
It was expected prior to game against Trabzonspor that Basaksehirspor would have some trouble especially taking account that it had played 3-hour game against Fenerbahce during Turkish Cup semi-final 2nd leg game. Even through this blog did state that fact that team got into finals would provide them motivation, the tiredness did show itself against strong opponent. Taking account that it took around 60 minutes for Basaksehirspor to start having an upper hand of the game shows how tired it was. The game was played at the high tempo with an attacking football and possibly with help of its goalkeeper Volkan Babacan it has managed to to keep low chance of getting league title since Besiktas losing 4 points would them champions. It still needs to stay focussed for game against Adanaspor on 27th May as it is possible that Besiktas could lose points on next day to Gaziantepspor.
Still, it needs to be reminded that Basaksehirspor has got into Champions League 2nd qualifying round which is arleady has qualified into and has achieved a huge achievement for its history and has marked its best achievement at its history.
Trabzonspor have lack of motivation as it doesnt have aim for this season at the table.
Trabzonspor which has started this calendar year in very good way is currently showing once again decline as it got its winningless period to 4th game after drawing against Basaksehirspor during Super League 32nd week and does a have risk at losing its Europa League spot to Antalyaspor who alredy have 4 point advantage over them.
As been mentioned beforehand, this decline of performance with Trabzonspor has been due of factor that it has become tired with high-level performance it had for around 2-3 months which it was not used to from 1st half of the season and without having much aims as its Europa League place is not even secure has affected their motivated. Regardless how good team plays and capable of when it becomes realisation of not achieving much it would lead to decline of performance which is what Trabzonspor suffering. Trabzonspor therefore would also have difficult on 27th May game against Fenerbahce as their opponent has set an eye to fight for 3rd place at the league table.
Those last game for Trabzonspor would be able to test the team and identify weaknesses for next season where it would aim to fight for league but it would be too much too expect from them to end last 2 games with 100% record.
