What happened in Turkish football today? 11.05.2017

Dursun Ozbek denies that team would go with drastic changes during summer transfer window.

During today's interview at the BeinSports Turkey channel, also official broadcaster of Super League, Galatasaray CEO Dursun Ozbek has made it clear that the team is not in big crises but some things needs to be solved.

Even through, in the sense of calming down all of the talks which is surrounding of the club,Ozbek did state there is not much issues at the team he did admit that he was unhappy with how team has played against Kasimpasa  during Super League 30th week game but there will not be much change at the squad and also Igor Tudor staying at the club for next season. In other words, from Dursun Ozbek statements we could see that his entrance to the changing room after game was with anger and warning giving to players to give their all but nothing more. This sounds legitimate only to extend that rumours at the Turkish sports media show quite opposite. Even through its known that football journalism, especially in Turkey, would look always to create crises, what media tells might be also be case. To some extend, the factor which side is telling truth would become even more clearer when summer transfer window starts, would team go with same players who have long-term contract or the team would be rebuild from beginning will become clear then.

In either way, even if Dursun Ozbek statements among Igor Tudor and Wesley Sneijder does represent truth its still doesnt mean there is some kind crises taking place at the team. And to solve this the team has 4 games during this season and whole summer.

Besiktas unhappy that Fenerbahce player Volkan Demirel wasnt punished by PFDK

Even through this blog didnt mention much about post-events of the last week Turkish derby game between Besiktas and Fenerbahce, it still looks to be clear that Besiktas is unhappy that only Talisca has been punished by Professional Football Disciplinary Committee and no decision made against Fenerbahce player Volkan Demirel.

Foremost, its important to note that Besiktas CEO Fikret Orman during today's statement admitted of wrong-doing of Talisca but stated that actions by Fenerbahce player Volkan Demirel were more crucial he also needs to recieve some kind of punishment. To remind, Talisca has shown middle-finger towards Volkan Demirel. According to some reports, after game Volkan Demirel has complained about Talisca to Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes of his actions but during talking about that has used very strong foul language. This tension between two clubs, especially with Besiktas feeling as victim, has been started since Turkish Cup last 16 game back in January as Fikret Orman has once again has stated that Fenerbahce has come to them not to play game but create tension even through in last week game Fenerbahce has been more focussed into football, did their achieve to show good game is other issue.

Even through Besiktas CEO Fikret Orman keep stating that team is calm and polite once focussed into game and to some extend that Fenerbahce is being more aggressive against them, the post-match statements using harsh and targeted words doesnt provide much positive view of their football-focussed team it claims to be .

Konyaspor denies ending career with Aykut Kocaman at the end of this season.

There is rumour going around Turkish media that with high possibility of Konyaspor head coach Aykut Kocaman moving to Fenerbahce and he might be fired if his team would get to final of the Turkish Cup and become opponent of Fenerbahce.

Konyaspor 2nd CEO Fatih Yildirim has stated this news is not true and taking account that club intends to keep him as head coach until end of the next season, it cant even discuss about this issue at the team. Yildirim also adds that club didnt recieve any transfer offers from Fenerbahce. In similar manner as news of Galatasaray players staying or leaving club will become clear as time comes, the future of Aykut Kocaman at Konyaspor would become clear if both teams get to final of the Turkish Cup, or otherwise this news is been speculated. Of course, this news about Aykut Kocaman are pretty unpredictable as media for long time states that Fenerbahce has decided with head coach and even made agreement while Fenerbahce and Konyaspor are denying this rumour, so it is reasonably that Fenerbahce does look to alternatives of head coaches for next season.

It is also known that number of administrators are not sure about Aykut Kocaman due of his controversial actions at his old reign where he "kicked out" teams star Alex de Souza from the team.
