Ending 3rd place gives longer summer break, but Fenerbahce are not aware of that.
Even through Fenerbahce has managed to win Genclerbirligi during Super League 32nd week game, with the help of two goals by Robin van Persie, the team doesnt show an image that it is fully focussed to the end of the season. Taking account, if Basaksehirspor wins Turkish Cup final, 3rd place could mean club would get to the Europa League directly this lack of focus is not understandable.
It needs to be noted of course that main aim for clubs like Fenerbahce and Galatasaray is always been winning league title at the end of the season, but right now ending season at the 3rd place could either mean that team which takes that spot would either start season late-July or as everyone in August depending on how Turkish Cup final finishes. With Galatasaray winning last 2 games in confident manner it could been stated that their are more focussed to this target. Fenerbahce wasnt much at the game against Genclerbirligi which could be also described due of tiredness of the Turkish Cup 3-hour long game and also generally affect in psychology for the loss but it did have to recover from that for 3-4 days and also news from basketball team which won Euroleague was expected to provide them extra motivation. Even through Trabzonspor is also at decline right now, Fenerbahce still needs to improve their game if their want to win them on 27th May.
With league title being more or less clear right now, the fight for 3rd place seems to be only issue left at the season assuming that Rizespor are almost close to get also relegated this weekend. Therefore, focus slowly turns into 3rd place fight at the last 2 weeks.
Besiktas are preparing for league title this week.
Besiktas would officially become champions of the Super League for the 2016-17 season if it manages to win relegated Gaziantepspor on 28th May regardless how Basaksehirspor plays against Adanaspor on one day before as it would keep 4 point advantage as league would enter to its last week.
It is highly expected that Besiktas would come to this aim and even through Genclerbirligi is not expected to just come out for game to have fun the factor of motivation and awareness of closing deal with 1 week before end of the league is putting Besiktas as strong favourite. Needless, to say it was coming as favourite but now this is more the case. The only disadvantage of Besiktas which could be seen that it is playing this game away and will not be able to fill its celebration directly at its "home" but in other side winning the game would mean that last game of the season against Osmanlispor would be played at the festival mood. Basaksehirspor of course still has small hope that Besiktas would at least get loss and draw of this two games but speaking of football logic this case is very unlikely.
The team surely is preparing in this manner and players are not relaxed in this week preparation as this week their have good chance to get 2nd league title back-to-back.
Fenerbahce player Ozan Tufan was questioned as victim of the gang.
One of the most talked news has been about Fenerbahce player Ozan Tufan giving his defence to the police after being tricked by the gangs who have sold him 2nd hand car which was stolen by gangs from outside Turkey.
The news at the morning has been reported wrongly at the first stating that he was questioned and taken into custody as a suspect, but as it became clear after he is being and clarifying from Fenerbahce statements he was questioned as victim as he has obtained one of the luxirous cars provided by those gangs. In other words, its safe to state that Ozan Tufan will not be taken into custody and likely to be involved with case as victim but it won't affect his footballing career. Meanwhile, there are always talks that Ozan Tufan might start case against gang due of being victimised.
This issue has been discussed a lot during Turkish sports media today, but even through it was bad and unlucky news for Ozan Tufan who has been tricked, this is actually only ordinary criminal news story and has been only discussed at this big due of interest it has in the media regarding of big clubs.
