What happened in Turkish football today? 04.05.2017
Basaksehirspor needs to believe into themselves and provide positive football against Antalyaspor.
Even through Basaksehirspor dream at getting league title at the end of the season seems to be difficult right now due of 4 points difference with Besiktas, its still possible with 5 games to be played this season.
However, to make this chance possibly it would certainly need to win all of the 5 games at least and wait for their opponent to lose a game and draw. Their first opponent for this task following their impressive win against Besiktas, will be Antalyaspor where it would be played at away game. It needs to be stated that Antalyaspor also fight for Europa League spot as in case if their opponents at game tomorrow or Fenerbahce win Turkish Cup, their would be open space for 5th place team. Therefore, this game would not be an easy one for Basaksehirspor even through Antalyaspor seems to be losing points against teams at the top, it still would be probably easier for them to provide tactics. One of the topics at the Turkish media of this week that Basaksehirspor does have issue at winning against teams which does intense defensive game and taking account that Antalyaspor might just do that it have risk of losing point.
The key of the game for Basaksehirspor is to believe that it can get league title at the end of the season and provide positive football for tomorrow's game and with this set of mind it can not only win tomorrow but make 5 out of 5 for rest of the season.
Arbitration Court has reduced ban of Ufuk Ceylan and Yalcin Ayhan from 5 games to 3.
The fighting between Basaksehirspor with A Spor journalist following Super League 28th week game against Rizespor has been discussed a lot in Turkish sports media during past few weeks and today's Arbitration Court has put another decision regarding of this event this time positive for team and players.
Arbitration Court has stated that the ban of both Ufuk Ceylan and Yalcin Ayhan would be reduced from 5 to 3 games stating that this would be following that their has only been fight between two. Taking account that all parties has from start actually saw 5-game ban to be low it would be specific shock by some to see this reduction to take place. It is believed that this decision could be coming from Basaksehirspor CEO Goksel Gumusdag close connection to the Turkish Football Federation CEO Yildirim Demiroren. Even through this event does look could been set to not allow Basaksehirspor for its race for league title, right now it does seem to raise some questions as both players would be available to compete at two important games at the end of the season. It does look like Turkish Football Federation needs to make statement about this decision even better to make it more understandable.
On other hand, as it been stated this is certainly would be seen as good news for Basaksehirspor as it would be able to use its squad at its maximum at the important games in the end of the season and possibly at the Turkish Cup final.
Trabzonspor are interested with Spartak Moscow player Serdar Tasci and CSKA Moscow player Zoran Tosic.
Trabzonspor interest of transferring players from Russia, namely Sparkak Moscow player Serdar Tasci and CSKA Moscow player Zoran Tosic, is still carrying on as is it aims to make team which would be able to fight for league title next season.
It was known that during last week administrators and head coach Ersun Yanal has travelled to Moscow to watch city derby between Spartak Moscow and CSKA Moscow. Even through the main focus was towards Serdar Tasci, Trabzonspor members has been also impressed by performance of CSKA Moscow player Zoran Tosic. Trabzonspor administrator Ahmet Cubukcu has stated that their did view Tasci and has discussed a bit with Tasci manager but it is too early to discuss about transfer. Meanwhile, Tasci has stated that he plans to stay at Spartak Moscow for a year or even more as the team would be competing at the Champions League next season and hence he cant leave now.
It does look Russian players, among Tasci and Tosic, would play an important role at transfer market this summer for Trabzonspor and also it does look that club might try to convince to Serdar Tasci to join them, but Champions League part would lead them some issues.
