Besiktas are Super League champions for 2016-17 season
Super League 2016-17 season champions has become Besiktas with 1 week left until end of the season and has gained its 3rd star by winning against Gaziantespor with 4:0 scoreline and has gained title in a deserved manner with controlling league during whole season and leading the league for most of the time.
Besiktas has provided a great season at this season and with a strong belief with providing positive football compare to most of its main rivals. In fact for most of the season it was stated at the Turkish sports media and this blog that Besiktas is closest at providing European level of the football and by far the strongest team in Turkey during this season. Meanwhile, Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes has become 1st Turkish head coach to win league title back-to-back in the history of the club but even more important Senol Gunes has led for players to develop into their maximum at each of the game and provide positive football. Coming to the game, it was played more or less as was expected prior to the game as one side was coming to win league title while Gaziantepspor has been eliminated. Besiktas has concentrated to game to get the win without getting too much stress during the game and before last week game against Osmanlispor as was expected while Gaziantepspor couldnt get into the mood and has been observed to be mainly unmotivated and not focussed, especially with conceding an early goal. This blog still provided a small chance that Gaziantepspor could get point as you dont win without playing but it needs to be stated that Besiktas was always coming to this game as an favourite to get a win and get league title with one week left until end of the season.
Right now Besiktas would look forward to meet its supporters at the last game against Osmanlispor where it would also recieve its league title, next to its supporters who has pushed team a lot during this season and would celebrate its well-deserved league title with its supporters at the Vodafone Arena (Stadium).
Basaksehirspor has provided historical season at confident title race.
Even through Basaksehirspor didnt manage to end season as the champions, it has certainly provided a very respectful opposition towards Besiktas and has experience a great season, which it was rewarded with ticket to the Champions League 2nd qualifying round.
In fact, Basaksehirspor has become only team during Super League 2016-17 season which has won every single opponent during this season at least once including providing a great performance against big "4" teams also. Even through Besiktas has become champions of this season without doubt in deserved manner noone would have stated that Basaksehirspor didnt deserve especially taking account their economical situation and being club with very limited amount of fans. In fact, if Basaksehirspor does manage to get to the Champions League group stage next stage it would be probably team with lowest fanbase at the history of the competition. Yesterday's last minute goal by the Stefano Napoleoni meanwhile has shown the fighting spirit which the team has especially taking account it was playing with 10 men during most part of the game. Right now team would focus towards Turkish Cup final game against Konyaspor where it would aim to end season at the highest stage it could.
Basaksehirspor head coach Abdullah Avci and his students didnt only write history with their performance during this season but also to history of the Turkish football and would likely to fight for league title also next season if it wont make mistakes during transfer window in summer. Now full focus is to end season with Turkish Cup which it also has certainly deserved.
Both Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor mentally has ended this season.
Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor performance during Super League 33rd week game, has certainly provided the mood of the team for last few weeks of the season where it did look like that players were awaiting for end of the season.
Even through both teams are fighting for possibly Europa League 3rd place or 5th place spot at the end of the season, it was observed that both sides has arleady set their mind to the summer break. Even through the game, especially during 1st half had been played at the high tempo it was still not being enough at the fighting spirit. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce player Emmanuel Emenike despite of providing reasonably good performance has been ended with protest from the supporters who saw his performance at game not enough. In fact, as was stated several times during this season, Fenerbahce supporters were not satisfied with how their team has been performing, while Trabzonspor fans assuming were reasonably satisfied with team performance after New Year break. Yesterday's game has also certain that both teams needs to make some changes during transfers to make strong competitive teams for next season.
Even through Trabzonspor has ended this season at the 6th place with one game left to play, Fenerbahce would come out to crucial Adanaspor game to end season at the 3rd place and have long summer break due of possibly starting Europa League in September.
