What happened in Turkish football today? 06.03.2016

Fenerbahce has won one of the most difficult away games with impressive score.

Fenerbahce has managed to get an important win with impressive scoreline against Akhisar Belediyespor with 3:0 scoreline despite of playing at the worst field at the Turkish Super League. With this win assuming difficulties had with a field Fenerbahce also recieved an important morale prior to Europa League last 16 1st leg against Braga.

Fenerbahce head coach Vitor Pereira has done the best tactic for today's condition of the field with mainly focussing at starting attacks from long distance shots and starting it in the defence. During the game with the field not allowing to play game which team is used at, Fenerbahce has managed to control game in very effective manner with Sener Ozbayrakli becoming the main player of the game with incredible goal from long distance and also assist to the Volkan Sen during 2nd goal. Fenerbahce has also managed to win its first game against Akhisar Belediyespor after 3 games of losing and hence breaking its unlucky record.

Fenerbahce has won a game which was seen as one of the most difficult away games during its journey for league title which its got even more impressive manner when it achieved the win against Akhisar Belediyespor. Fenerbahce right now carries its intense fight for league title with Besiktas and will play against Braga on Thursday with high motivation.

Akhisar Belediyespor meanwhile should not be too much dissapointed as it would be expected them to lose  against  teams which are at league title and should focus towards its fight to the 3rd place Europa League with Basaksehirspor, Galatasaray, Konyaspor and Kasimpasa.

Europa League fight between clubs involved for 3rd spot is getting heated up.

Super League game between Galatasaray and Basaksehirspor has been seen as one of the key games of this week as it was between two teams which were fighting for third spot which allows direct entrance to Europa League and of course will help Galatasaray to get its ban next season. Game has ended with high number of goals: 3:3.

Basaksehirspor has begun game as a controlled team with finding two goals as early as 6th minute by Edin Visca and had ended half with comfortable 2:0 leadership. Despite of strong protests given by low number of Galatasaray fans at the stadium with the help of Yasin Oztekin, Galatasaray has managed to bring score to 2:2 and giving them time to even win the game at the last 16 minutes but Visca another goal has made Basaksehirspor into the leadership. Galatasaray compare to previous games at this season didnt give up into game and fought until end with Galatasaray getting very disputed penalty and  Selcuk Inan converting into a goal at the end of the game. The game which was crucial for 3rd place spot has ended with two sides scoring 3 goals.

Galatasaray has shown probably first time at this year great comeback and belief that it wanted this game and does have set an eye to get European spot and hence go through ban given by UEFA. Still Galatasaray is not at great condition and needs to improve.

At yesterday blog it was stated that Basaksehirspor was coming out as strong favourite and their have shown that especially at 1st half and also with finding goal with Visca during period when Galatasaray was attacking. One thing is certain fight for Europa League spot would be as exciting as title race above them.

Konyaspor has set its eye to the 3rd place at the league.

Konyaspor has managed to win against struggling Trabzonspor with the 2:0 and carries on with the very important 3rd place spot to get its Europa League direct qualification and has played very positive football which surely Konyaspor head coach Aykut Kocaman has played an important role this season.

As was it mentioned at yesterday blog Konyaspor losing the point would be surely seen as the bigger surprise rather than Trabzonspor losing. The performance of the two teams has shown directly why this is the case, especially taking account that Trabzonspor head coach Hami Mandirali has stated at the end of the game that he is proud of its players. The fight for the 3rd place is getting even more intense as all of the teams are playing top football possibly only Galatasaray being below its level. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor are very close to relegation zone and need to get winning if it doesnt want to find itself at more difficult conditions.

Trabzonspor is only 7 points away from relegation zone and teams at the zone playing better football lately the danger for Trabzonspor is even bigger than it seems. Trabzonspor needs to get self-belief very soon or it will get into more bigger issues.

Konyaspor meanwhile carries on top football and has set its eye at getting to 3rd place at the league and surely it would be hard to beat them in upcoming 10 games.
