Fenerbahce has got very important win against Besiktas at home.
Fenerbahce has won very crucial game, which could be referred as game of the season, with 2:0 scoreline against the most goal-scoring team at the league Besiktas. The turning point of the game was goal by Volkan Sen who had scored at the 3rd minute and had affected concentration and morale of the Besiktas for the rest of the game.
Fenerbahce has tried to play similar game which it has played against Lokomotiv Moscow during Europa League last 32 1st leg game where it had dominated game. Of course, Besiktas as the team was more at the form so it was hard for Fenerbahce to dominate the game as against Lokomotiv but it had reduced attacks by Besiktas during the team especially at 1st half. Besiktas meanwhile has played much better football at the team and surely performance by Fenerbahce goalkeeper Volkan Demirel has played very crucial role with his saves from almost 100% goal attacks by Mario Gomez and Ricardo Quaresma. As been mentioned before hand this game was more crucial for Fenerbahce as the loss could send further for the leadership but this win has made leaders with one in hand and will carry on league with high motivation.
Fenerbahce has got very important win which among put them back into the leadership and making title race more intense has also risen motivation and morale with important games coming up at the league, Europa League and Turkish Cup. Also, team has continued its domination at the league as Besiktas didnt lose at home for 11 years.
Besiktas loss at the game and concentration after 3rd minute when Volkan Sen has scored surely would affect morale at the team but the team is still inside the title race and only being 2 points behind Fenerbahce with game in hand against Trabzonspor. Surely, this result will not affect performance of the Besiktas and title race as been mentioned about is going intense which is good for viewers and fans.
Mustafa Denizli resignation will not surprise anyone
Galatasaray head coach Mustafa Denizli following post-match interview with press against Gaziantepspor has used carefully selected words which provided strong clue that he is planning to leave the club as head coach. As been stated several times Galatasaray does seem to be strong favourite as it is only hope for them to end season with title, but with mess at the team it is questionable if it could be highly motivated for the game against Akhisar Belediyespor. Besiktas and Fenerbahce continuation, by the way both teams will met at semi-finals if passed, is questioned as both clubs are figthing for title and in addition Fenerbahce is still at the Europa League after passing Lokomotiv Moscow at last 32 stage. Therefore, we might see some surprising results at the paper but quite expected at same time in next 3 days.
It just needs to be remembered that Turkish Cup is tournament number 2 (and for Fenerbahce number 3 right now) and therefore results and analysis should be treated in that way.
