What happened in Turkish football today? 15.03.2016

Besiktas regains its leadership with the win against Trabzonspor.

Besiktas has regained its leadership with winning Trabzonspor during 19th week postponed game at the Super League with the 2:0 scoreline, which was in fact not very easy game for Besiktas especially during 1st half. Besiktas therefore has gained a very important win against its arch rivals and also get one step closer to its title aim in this season.

The game in fact has started quite equally with both sides creating high number of chances and during 1st half it could be even said that Trabzonspor wanted to get a win as the team was getting closer to the goals and had number good attacks to the Besiktas goal. This could be also be observed by the fact that Besiktas players could not use Marcelo as it had obtained him later than 26th January, original date of this game. However, as the game has progressed especially during 2nd half it became visible that Trabzonspor players has lack of stamina which led having lots of attacks by Besiktas and conceding goal during last 15 minutes. Meanwhile, Besiktas player Mario Gomez has went into history of the club by becoming most-goal scoring foreign player in the history of a team taking account there is still 9 games to be played at the league, he will top that number even more.

Another highlight of the game was good-will of Besiktas player Oguzhan Ozyakup who wanted to play game despite of injury and has provided a very good performance. Besiktas carries on its leadership against Fenerbahce with being 1 point ahead of its rivals. The title race has once again heated up with one loss of either team could be decider.

Trabzonspor meanwhile has shown some improvement with good-will of the team and willing to win the game however it does need to solve issue of its stamina or it would lose to lots of teams especially from top-half teams in the last 9 games of the season.

Umut Bulut father's Kenan Bulut was taken into last journey today.

The whole sports world in Turkey was having a very sad day today as Galatasaray player Umut Bulut father's , Kemal Bulut, funeral took place in Kayseri after he got killed at terror attack while waiting for his bus at the Kizilay bus station in Ankara.

Kemal Bulut was watching his son during Galatasaray game against Genclerbirligi on Sunday in Ankara and the last conversation which both had was in the sign of wave made by both after the game. Kenan Buruk after the game had started that he would talk with his son at the home as it was overcrowded in changing room but that talk had never took place. This death reminded us that terror attack can strike anyone and can affect anyone. Whole sporting world, including supporters has shown big union and condolences towards the loss of Umut Bulut.

This case has shown us that there is more in life important things than football and that those terror attacks need to stop as most of the people are innocent who have passed away and the families who were involved. As everyone else condemns those attack very strongly and says enough for this attacks.

Foreign players wont leave Turkey but their are scared.  

The recent terror attack and high number of them taking place quite recently at the Turkey quite naturally raises worry for the foreign players and head coaches who are at the Super League. Even through it is low chance that this would be reason for them to leave their clubs this summer, the thought does affect them psychologically.

Number of players after terror attacks has said that this attack reminded them that everyone can be affected and their do go outside with the mind of what taken place. It became clear that Fenerbahce administrators and head coach Vitor Pereira are thinking to appoint psychogist to talk with players and make them calm for the situation which is happening around the country. This news might negatively affect their performance and it is important to make it clear that things in Turkey are not that dangerous, and its not despite of dangers which in fact every country is going through now.

The chances for those players as been stated are low but their stay here could be full of worries and its job of club to reduce that as Besiktas managed to do with Mario Gomez after terror attacks in Paris.
