What happened in Turkish football today? 28.04.2017
Kasimpasa has shown great comeback against Konyaspor.
Even through Turkish Cup semi-final 1st leg game between Kasimpasa and Konyaspor could been hardly be referred as very exciting game in duration of whole 90 minutes, it was still able to provide 5 goals in total with 3 of them being scored by Kasimpasa in duration of the 5 minutes.
The factor of that comeback between 82nd to 86th minutes goals by Kasimpasa has not been mainly of the good performance prior to goal as it was not able to get upper hand of more or less balanced game against Konyaspor but more of self-belief and keeping motivation and belief at the highest. If
Kasimpasa has lost this game with 2:0 scoreline its task of getting to the final of the Turkish Cup would been hard as it would need to score 3 goals without conceding in Konya, and as it is known its one of the hardest away games in the Turkey. One of the bad news and probably worst has been of injury of its one of the attackers Koita who will not be able to play for 6 months and will not help team in 2nd leg of semi-final and in final if team gets there. Another worrying aspect has been of 2nd yellow card of Adem Buyuk, but he would go through this punishment in Super League and will not affect Turkish Cup 2nd leg game.
In overall, Kasimpasa did provide great comeback at the night but it needs to improve this performance at the 2nd leg as game against Konyaspor will not be easy one in Konya for sure but this comeback will provide full motivation and confidence for them.
Konyaspor has lost concentration in last 10 minutes.
Even through it has lost game due of losing concentration and not being able to responding after 1st goal in 82nd minute from Kasimpasa, Konyaspor still has good chances at this tie and would look forward for 2nd leg game due of 2 away goals it has obtained.
Even through as been mentioned the game has been played in between with both sides playing in middle for most part of the game, Konyaspor looked to be more comfortable as the game progressed and has shown better performance with better self-belief.However, the main reason why it has lost game at the end of the day was due of lack of showing reaction after conceding 1st goal and getting to last 10 minute being too relaxed with goal advantage. Kasimpasa has certainly shown towards Konyaspor that football has been played for 90 minutes and players needs to be focussed. Kasimpasa has certainly used this shock effect successfully by following game with 2 more goals back-to-back. Regardless if Konyaspor does get to the final of the Turkish Cup it has learned valuable lesson which it needs to be shown it did in 2nd leg games regardless if it score first or not. Their had seen that opponents even playing not great football would do their best to get to final of the competition.
Konyaspor did repeat one of its mistakes during whole season by poor performance at the defence which was observed both at the Super League and Europa League earlier this season and its also aspect which their need to consider in return leg and also with transfer politics in summer.
Trabzonspor looks to be more favourite against Genclerbirligi
Turkish Super League will be returning with Trabzonspor and Genclerbirligi game during 29th week game, as Trabzonspor who is getting closer at clinching Europa League spot from Galatasaray has been motivated to this game.
Apart of that fact that Trabzonspor is getting closer to Galatasaray and 4th place, other important aspect is that Trabzonspor is showing great performance for whole 2nd half while it could be confidently state that Galatasaray is at this spot due of performance at 1st half of the season and lost many points in 2nd half of season. Playing against Genclerbirligi who is more has secured their place just above half of the league table and without any aims as its being 10 points behind Europa League spot and out of reach from relegation zone, Trabzonspor would come out with much higher motivation and this factor would make alone them favourites. Taking around that Trabzonspor as been mentioned several times is club to beat for 2nd half of the season, Gaziantepspor with lack of focus would come certainly for their best performance but would be hard to stop hungry for win Trabzonspor.
Therefore, Trabzonspor does come as stable favourite and loss of points by them would certainly be seen a surprise by everyone who is following Turkish league, even through it can happen.
