What happened in Turkish football today? 18.04.2017

Olympique Lyon has changed its mind and will bring its supporters to Vodafone Arena.

With two days left until Europa League quarter-final 2nd leg game against Besiktas game in Istanbul, Olympique Lyon has changed its mind regarding of not bringing its supporters for the game.

According to news reports, Lyon has asked Besiktas to provide an extra security at the game to which Besiktas has responded that there is no need for that at the Vodafone Arena has been under good security for long time now. This statement from Besiktas has been seen as reasonable and right now it does look like Lyon will include its supporters for the game. Meanwhile, it is certainly important for Besiktas fans to focus into strength to support its fans and not get into provocative by Besiktas hooligans or actions from Olympique Lyon fans which as their known for recent years, especially Carsi doesnt get into it. Carsi has mainly focussed lately into verbal sign of protests, which can happen towards recent constitutional referandum results. Still everyone, including security needs to be careful for tension not to raise after heated 1st leg game in France.

Olympique Lyon has made a right decision at the end to bring its supporters for the game but now its crucial for those not to be raised as big issue at the stadium and make game with ultra safe mode.

Besiktas has completed collecting evidences for recieving right share from Fiorentina for Mario Gomez transfer.

As it would be remembered, during last summer transfer window the clause of Mario Gomez contract between Besiktas and Fiorentina has been stated that club will recieve 50%. After news from Italian media, it became clear that Besiktas has got its share much less than needed.

Even through this news has not been discussed a lot recently by Turkish sports media and also our blog, it became clear today that Besiktas has completed collecting evidences regarding of those issues which includes from Italian and German sources and also reports from Italian sports media. According, to rumours right now Besiktas lawyers are on last touches and are close to start criminal case against Fiorentina in soon time. When this case will be opened it would be certainly be one of the most discussed topic during this process and would be interesting how it would be complated.

It needs ot be stated that if Italian rumours that Gomez was sold for 7 million euro are true and Fiorentina statements that their only recieved 1,5 million euro, and hence has given rightly 750,000 euro to Besiktas are not true that Besiktas does have a strong case in their hands.

Kasimpasa player Turgut Sahin has extended contract with his team for 2+1 years.

Kasimpasa has extended contract with one of its main players Turgut Dogan Sahin for 2+1 years as he has played an important role during this season

29 year old Turgut Sahin has been played in total of 31 games both at the Super League and Turkish Cup during this season with scoring 4 goals and having 7 assists. He has played an important role for the team to get to the semi-final stage of the Turkish Cup where he would meet with Konyaspor on 27th April. It was important for Kasimpasa to make this extension as with being free player during this summer or moving late this agreement could lead Kasimpasa to lose an important game who could play important role at the new aims during next season.

With summer getting closer we are expecting for more contract extensions to be taken place at the clubs which want to keep number of their key players and dont risk losing them in summer.
