Basaksehirspor has become 1st semifinalists of this season Turkish Cup with winning Akhisar Belediyespor at the 2nd leg quarter-final game with 2:0 scoreline and hence ending this tie with 3:1 agreggate scoreline.
Playing 2nd leg in Akhisar, it was seen that Akhisar Belediyespor was expected to be favourite which has also become more likely to be case after Akhisar has beaten Basaksehirspor with 2:1 scoreline at the Super League during previous week. However, even through Basaksehirspor has made its title aims a bit more tougher after weekend game it has managed to carry on its Turkish Cup journey. Basaksehirspor it needs to be stated has learned some lessons from league game as it has created much more attacks and chances with finding goals from Emmanuel Adebayor and also Mehmet Batdal finding goal at the last minute. It needs to be stated that Akhisar Belediyespor player did score a goal during 90+3' , scoreline which would brought game into an extra time however it was not counted due of offside.
With goals which were scored by Emmanuel Adabayor and Mehmet Batdal it has become 1st side to get to the semi-final and would likely to meet with Fenerbahce as it has managed to win at the 1st leg with 3:0 scoreline in game at Kayseri.
Galatasaray has gained motivation from confident win against Adanaspor.
Galatasaray has managed to get a confident win against Adanaspor during Super League 27th week at the game it needs to be stated that their opponents didnt provide too much resistance but despite of that there were signs of improvement at the team.
It could be argued due of poor performance and low motivation by the Adanaspor that the game for Galatasaray has been too easy and hence this factors has made Galatasaray to provide good game.
However, despite of all that Istanbul side has provided a better image compare to previous games providing an image that it is closing closer to the style of play which Igor Tudor aimed to provide fast-paced football and more focussing into speed rather than control of the ball. Galatasaray has looked confident at the game tomorrow which led for such an comfortable scoreline at the end, as Galatasaray didnt score much goals with Jan Olde Riekerink being present at the team as it was more focussed into keeping ball at their legs rather than creating chances. This win and getting 4 point closer to the Basaksehirspor would certainly provide motivation for game against Basaksehirspor which will take place on 10th April.
As been stated that Adanaspor as game is not great reference point for rest of the season but getting 4:0 win against their opponents would provide lots of motivation which would be essential for rest of the season and fight for 2nd place.
Fenerbahce and Kayserispor game is expected to be played for formality.
Fenerbahce would return to the Turkish Cup which slowly turns out to be their main aim for rest of the season with 2nd leg game against Kayserispor after it has won 1st leg game in Kayserispor with confident 3:0 scoreline.
With such comfortable cushion it has recieved from 1st leg game it would be reasonable to expect that Fenerbahce would come out at the game with good confidence and would play game knowing it is through. Kayserispor prior to game did themselves state that hope for getting to semi-final after 1st leg are pretty low and right now team would solely focus towards Super League game against
Osmanlispor during this weekend as it is more crucial for them. Fenerbahce playing at home might get confident or in other way might play slow controlling game which is more likely as number of fans would be expected to be low and hence dont provide extra motivation.
Unless Kayserispor would find an early goal or suddenly find 2 goals during the game, which is possibility, the game would be played at formality way with control of Fenerbahce at the midfield and will not provide much excitement.
