Josue goal has prevented Galatasaray to get another draw at Turkish Cup.
Galatasaray has won its first Turkish Cup game during this season group stage with winning Tuzlaspor with 2:1 scoreline during 4th week game and had gained 5 points at the group.
It needs to be stated that however the winning goal has come at the additional time of the 2nd half and since has led almost for Galatasaray to gain another 1:1 draw and makes its chance to get into next stage. In fact, the way Galatasaray has played today has been very similarly to the previous games at the Turkish Cup and Tuzlaspor even through had difficulty to show upper hand due of quality difference between sides and playing away did show some positive aspects during the game and has made score draw in 75th minute after 7 minutes of conceding the goal. Galatasaray was lacking once again collective game. In fact the most memorable part of the game has been injury of the assistant referee during first half of the game.
Despite of losing it needs to be stated that Tuzlaspor has shown good performance at the away game against such a top team and was seeking for at least to get a draw.It still stands as the team which could get next stage of the tournament as its not specifically hard group.
Galatasaray has got its first win at the group stage and has allowed themselves to get some calm at the group with help of Josue but it needs to carry on winning to have calmer group stage.
Menemen Belediyespor will likely aim for draw against Fenerbahce
Fenerbahce will carry on its campaign at the Turkish Cup against Menemen Belediyespor and would aim to get its first win at this season competition following 1 draw and loss so far at the Turkish Cup.
It could be stated that Fenerbahce was not able to provide its performance which it had shown both at the Super League and Europa League with possibility of either reserve and substitutes not being as ready as main squad or for team not taking competition to seriously. Menemen Belediyespor currently is coming out to this group as 2nd placed team as it had managed to win 1st week game against Amedspor and would see this game as good chance to get a chance to get to the knockout stage as draw against Fenerbahce would give them at good position however it all depends as usual with how Fenerbahce would treat this game because surprise can only happen with allowance with Fenerbahce. The win against Genclerbirligi at the Super League on 19th December would expect to play an important role for a team to be motivated but again would squad which would be playing be able to provide top performance is unclear.
Of course, Fenerbahce right now has a difficult tasks both at the league and also at Europe the tough games would be coming up so those results could be related to this and it might carry on having difficulty for getting to next stage at competition.
Trabzonspor must win against Kizilcabolukspor.
Trabzonspor as most of the top 4 teams in the Turkey is also having a poor competition at the Turkish Cup as it has only gained 1 point following two weeks at the competition and would now meet against Kizilcabolukspor.
It would play against weakest team at the group which didnt gain a single point and has lost its games without providing any top football. It is actually among teams at the Turkish Cup which only advantage for being at the tournament is to gain motivation due of level of a team. Hence, Trabzonspor is expected to get an important win taking account that it would likely to set an aim to win Turkish Cup as their poor performance at the Super League is going to push them away from European season unless it gets Turkish Cup. Trabzonspor is suffering poor season and being a big team it is likely to focus to Turkish Cup but it needs to win this game as so far it provided very poor performance with only 1 point from competition.
Trabzonspor does come out as strong favourite and if it doesnt win it would set its aim for even knockout stage as very hard task so it must win the game and aim for next stage at the tournament.
