Fenerbahce substitutes are not ready for competitive football.
Fenerbahce has got their first point from this season Turkish Cup group stage game against Amedspor even through it didnt manage to win the game. In fact, for most of the time of the game Fenerbahce has even failed to provide top-class performance, at the game which has ended with 1:1 scoreline.
From the Fenerbahce viewpoint performance it did look like that team didnt take game seriously by the way players has played in an slow manner and also the fact that team has only arrived few hours before the kick-off time which has certainly affected how team has performed at the game. Fenerbahce, as it case with all of the top Istanbul clubs, has played with players who didnt get lots of game time this season and also reserves. The way has been played during the game does show that players who are usually waiting for substitute are not in perfect condition right now and are not ready to play competitive game both at the Super League and Europa League. Only exception of this is been seen by Fabiano who has done some eye-catching saves from Amedspor dangerous shots. The players did lack good performance during game and this surely would worry Dick Advocaat in upcoming days.
Amedspor meanwhile did provide good performance without raising tempo of the game too high and played more or less in way it was suitable for them. It did show good attacking football at 2nd half, even through Fenerbahce did to some extend allow them, and it didnt lose control of the game much after its player recieved red card during 2nd half.
Fenerbahce is currently is at worrying place at the Turkish Cup as it has only get 1 point after 2 games and even through with strength of the group it is still expected to get to knockout, it made its tasks harder.
Besiktas get 2 out of 2 at the Turkish Cup.
Besiktas has managed to become only team following 2nd week games among big 4 teams to start with 100 % record, this time beating fellow Super League team Kayserispor at the game which tickets were send to victims family of terror attack on Vodafone Arena on 11th December.
As all other big teams, Besiktas has also played with substitute and reserve players. It needs to be stated that performance wise it didnt provide best football and still needs lots of improvement but among other "big" teams their had managed to get 2 out of 2 wins. This does show that those players are also coming out with the winning mentality and has shown great reaction twice when conceding goal. It could be argued that level of the performance has played an important role but still with right set of mind it was able to get an important win. Kerim Frei still carries on showing nice performance at the Cup with scoring 3 goals from 2 games at the Turkish Cup so far.
Besiktas now seems to be certain to get to the knockout stages and it would become clear how it would perform later at the tournament according mainly to its results at the Europa League knockout stage.
Galatasaray failed to dominate against 24 Erzincanspor
In similar manner as with Fenerbahce, it became clear that Galatasaray players from reserves and substitutes and even some main players seem to be lacking to take Turkish Cup seriously as it has ended both games with 1:1 results from teams which are much weaker than their are at the quality.
Galatasaray it does need to be stated even through had most difficult game as it has played in snowy field with weather being -5 degrees and it certainly has affected their performance but as Jan Olde Riekerink has stated after the game this should not be used as an excuse of poor performance by the team. Galatasaray did have some lack at providing impressive game with showing slow-paced football and has played in similar manner as did their opponents, 24 Erzincanspor. With taking account that team is not at the Europa League it would be expected for them to take Turkish Cup a bit more serious and get better results.
Galatasaray also does show unstable season at the Super League and it needs to be stated that even through it is still at the middle of the title race it is questionable how long it will carry on good performance.
