What happened in Turkish football today? 13.12.2016

Fenerbahce is not in position to lose games at the league right now.

Fenerbahce has lost an important game against Antalyaspor during Super League 14th week game with providing one of its worst performance since Dick Advocaat has joined the team especially with team performance during the 1st half.

Antalyaspor meanwhile did do their preparation prior to game in good manner as it had managed to prevent Fenerbahce to play its own play and with Fenerbahce not being on their best day had made game easier for them. It needs to be stated that Antalyaspor has played better during 1st half with creating some good positions but has lacked of the last touches in attack, however Yasin Kurtulus shots from around 25 metres from goal at the 2nd half has brought an important win for them. Fenerbahce did improve their game at the 2nd half and  referee of the game Cuneyt Cakir did make some critical decisions one including penalty of Alper Potuk and 2nd goal by Moussa Sow which was not counted due of foul. Even through blog yesterday did mention that it was dangerous game and decision was right, not giving penalty decision of Cuneyt Cakir was questionable and it should be given.

Fenerbahce would now focus into the Turkish Cup game against Amedspor and later to the Super League game against Genclerbirligi. Normally losing game after 10 games without losing is not that bad outcome, but Fenerbahce is in position where it cant afford to lose.

Game between Besiktas and Konyaspor game would be dominated with togetherness and unity of everyone in stadium.

Turkish Cup game between Besiktas and Konyaspor tomorrow is certainly has been now taken into different stance following terrorist attack near Besiktas home stadium Vodafone Arena which has killed 44 and Turkey on 11th December is still going through this devastating event in a sad manner.

Besiktas CEO Fikret Orman and club has made an announcement for the sake of the togetherness all the fans should come to the game to show their protests towards terrorists. This game now  would dominate with such actions with also taking account that Besiktas is unlikely to take cup in serious manner however as the game it would be great choice to show sign of protests. Despite of being competitive game it would be expected for game to be taken place at the friendly manner with actions of fans and players showing this unity. This decision by the Besiktas has been right one. It also needs to be reminded that, with as many games taking place this week, all profits from tickets sales would be send to the families of the victims of this terror attack.

Coming to the game, as it being between two Super League teams it would be very competitive game but it needs to be stated that Kayserispor might take this game into more serious note, as it is having poor season this year.

Trabzonspor and Konyaspor expects to be very competitive game.

Trabzonspor will come out to the Turkish Cup 2nd week game against against fellow Super League team Konyaspor with being aware that it needs to get a win after surprising loss to the Gumushanespor at 1st week.

Trabzonspor is not having good season, and despite of winning Kayserispor and Adanaspor during last two games it still needs to be stated that it is failing to have good season so far and hence needs to get results at all fronts to carry on its motivation. Therefore, there is big expectation that Trabzonspor would be aiming to win this game even through Konyaspor would give their best after being eliminated from Europa League. It would be game between two sides which would like to perform well at this season Turkish Cup and hence it is among games which is not straightforward for result and any result will not be taken as surprise.

Konyaspor does show better form compare to Trabzonspor in overall, but it need to be remembered that Trabzonspor did manage to win last two weeks games in confident manner at Super League.
