Besiktas has got an important win with the help of penalties
Besiktas has managed to win an important game during Super League 14th week game against Bursaspor after not managing to win last 2 weeks games at the Super League and also having unexpected dissapointing result from Dinamo Kiev with 6:0 scoreline. Two penalty kicks from Cenk Tosun has brought a win to Besiktas after such a crucial game.
Looking at the performance wise it needs to be stated that their were signs of Besiktas to be affected from Dinamo Kiev game both mentally and psychologically especially prior to Cenk Tosun scoring 1st goal at the penalty kick. Luckily, for Besiktas and even through Bursaspor did show fast tempo performance at quality level it didnt provide too much danger until last minute of the games. Despite of Besiktas not showing its best football, it still had shown great possession of the ball and didnt allow Bursaspor to create much chances. Besiktas despite of controlling ball had lack of last touches and to some extend was lucky to get two penalty kicks during the game, which was converted by Cenk Tosun. This win was surely was important for them as it would affect to the upcoming games at the season.
Bursaspor despite of being at the 5th place and is not much far away from top place race, it doesnt seem to show really good football against teams which are fighting for league title. With this performance Bursaspor might gain European spot at the end of the season but will probably behind champion more than 10 points if it wont improve its football.
With Besiktas winning the game and at the same time Basaksehirspor drawing with the Genclerbirligi, Besiktas has got same point at the top with the Basaksehirspor and the fight for top place at the league until midseason break would likely to be taken between those both clubs.
Trabzonspor has gained motivation and confidence with Adanaspor win.
Trabzonspor has managed to get two wins back-to-back at the Super League during the season which prior to this success it was having one of the worst seasons at its league history. But as been stated at the yesterday blog it needs to be remembered that Trabzonspor has played with teams which also not having good season.
The win against last-placed team Adanaspor at the Super League 14th week game has concluded with 4:1 scoreline however it was an important result as it would gain high motivation to the team. Trabzonspor it needs to be stated and remembred would be coming to the two teams which are in good form, with upcoming weekend agaisnt Basaksehirspor and last week prior to midseason break it would meet with Fenerbahce. The results from this games would be most crucial games for them as those results would identify how Trabzonspor would see and revise its targets after midseason break. Trabzonspor with the two wins back to back needs to be mentioned did jump to 9th place and carrying on good results it could still aim for European spots and this taking account that only two weeks ago the blog has mentioned about elimination danger.
Trabzonspor surely gained some motivation but head coach Ersun Yanal and many players are still unhappy with its performance and aware that many things needs to be done for them to become better team, but it was important for them to get motivation boost right now.
Galatasaray needs to improve its performance at the game against Gaziantepspor.
Galatasaray will meet with Gaziantepspor during Super League 14th week as the team has got an important win during past two weeks against Bursaspor and Kasimpasa and even through performance wise it didnt show yet which was expected for them, it start to show more confidence with being at 3rd place at the league.
Galatasaray however needs to still improve its football against Gaziantepspor also taking account that slow and ineffective control of the game regardless of having too much possession of the ball will not be enough for tomorrow. The role of the foreign players such as Wesley Sneijder, Bruma and to some extend Eren Derdiyok would play an important role at the game as their effective play could bring a win even with poor game as Genclerbirligi would be expected to provide mainly defensive game at such crucial game in Istanbul.
Galatasaray does come as favourite but there is big expectation from football fans for Galatasaray to also improve its football in game tomorrow. Attackers needs to be more effective.
