Besiktas has lost its first game at league this season without providing an effective football.
As Besiktas was planning to end midseason with the leadership at the standing, it has lost an important game against Kasimpasa during Super League 15th week with losing two goals back-to-back at the start of the 2nd half.
Besiktas has shown probably one of the slowest football since start of this season apart of the Dinamo Kiev game which it has lost with 6:0 scoreline. Besiktas has been criticised for not playing with same tempo as it did last season but even with today's game it has provided one of the slowest football for past 2 years. It needs to be stated however Kasimpasa did provide a good defense game. It needs to be reminded meanwhile that Besiktas has lost its first game during this season with showing degrease of its performance during recent weeks. Besiktas has also lost one of the few games while winning game for long time and was far away from winning the game with having trouble at creating good chances. In fact, the goal scored by Cenk Tosun on the 1st half was to some extend lucky one even through in same time it was well fought goal as whole attacking side of team tried their best to ball pass goal line.
Kasimpasa meanwhile has shown a very good performance during today's game and to some extend has shown best football against big Istanbul clubs during this season. During 2nd half it has shown more brave football with being confident at the defence and effective at the front.
Besiktas is certainly is among main candidates to get league title at the end of the season but this lost of two points could give them damage as Basaksehirspor carries on its non-losing season and Galatasaray getting closer to the team with game tomorrow.
Basaksehirspor has once again got leadership in time when it looked like it was starting to lose points.
Basaksehirspor has got an important win against Trabzonspor with one goal scored by Edin Visca at the 2nd half which has led team to get leadership and start 2017 as leaders regardless of results of the Besiktas in their games.
At the preview yesterday it was stated that Basasehirspor was coming as an favourite to the game and it has played in such a way with controlling ball with 57% of possession and using its chances during the game. It has created high number of the dangerous shots during the game and once again it became visible to that Trabzonspor is right now is not providing its best football. With all respect to Trabzonspor and their opponents, this blog did emphasise that wins against Kayserispor and Adanaspor even through are important for confidence but this performance is not enough for them, as it was stated by Ersun Yanal in his statements after those games. Trabzonspor will not have difficulty at being at the relegation zone as it seems to get good results against "weaker" teams but when it play against stronger teams it has issues. Basaksehirspor after three draws has got an important point and with Trabzonspor being team with good history and even through result itself could not be seen as big surprise, it would lead
Basaksehirspor to get into high confidence with ending first half of the season with full confidence.
The race for league leadership will get even more extensive at the upcoming weeks and Basaksehirspor for now is strong candidate to get league title but time will show how long it will be able to carry on this performance.
Galatasaray will play among one of the most tough away games this season.
Galatasaray is going to have one of the toughest games at the Super League outside of Istanbul, as it would meet with pretty successful Osmanlispor during 15th week of the season. As it got closer to the title race it would need to win the game.
By many pundits at the Super League, their see Osmanlispor game as very important as among the results it would be also able to show how close is Galatasaray in its performance to become champions as it will play against team against who it needs to get points from. Osmanlispor getting good results at the Europa League and also in Turkey and would come to the game against
Galatasaray with high mood. One of the big issues of the Galatasaray is to play with high possession and passing ball around but failing to provide high number of goals and creating chances. With Super League mediocre teams playing with counter-attacks against big teams this factor has always been danger for them, with Fernando Muslera saving result numerous times. Galatasaray needs to show more compact and stronger game at front if it wants to win the game.
Even through Galatasaray is slightly favourite, this game result is too close to call and would provide good fight between two sides.
