What happened in Turkish football today? 04.01.2016

Limit on number of changes of head coaches could lead club administrators to start doing self-reflection on themselves.

Turkish Football Federation has organised a meeting with administrators of the Super League and 1st league today to discuss about frequent changes of head coaches in the Turkey. The worrying number of head coaches to be changed in this season, including recent sacking of the Genclerbirligi head coach Yilmaz Vural and Mersin Idman Yurdu head coach Bulent Korkmaz has led for federation to make that meeting.

The high number of administrators to some extend are going to an easy way by throwing all of the blames towards head coaches, including cases when poor performance is not related by them. Even through clubs should be free to do much changes including its head coach, the frequent change is worrying and federation might be forced to bring limit of coaches a club can have in a season.

The following solution could lead to administrators to look at reason of unsuccess in themselves and provide some chances to existing head coaches. As been mentioned previously several times, some of the cases its not even head coaches fault.

Mersin IdmanYurdu administrators sacked Bulent Korkmaz without telling CEO

One of the head coaches whose fault is not of poor performance is undoubetly of Mersin IdmanYurdu Bulent Korkmaz. Main reason of poor performance by team is for not recieving wages for number of months which led them bad performance and giving signs of protests, such as threat of not playing against Bursaspor. And as it known that administrators are paying to players and not head coaches.

One of the most shocking factor which happened today is announcement by Mersin IdmanYurdu CEO Ali Kahramanli that he was not present at the meeting and didnt know anything about plans of club to sack Bulent Korkmaz. This is shocking because it means now that number of administrators can decide of fate of head coach without talking to head coach and main man of the club.

This example really shows that Turkish Football Federation decision to put limit of changes of head coaches to team regardless how bizarre it sounds does need to take place, as drastic times needs drastic measures.

Shanghai Shenhua insists to transfer Burak Yilmaz.

Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua has once again send an offer to Galatasaray player Burak Yilmaz with 5 million Euro and hence once again showing that it is determined to purchase him. However, once again both Burak Yilmaz and club football director Cenk Ergun emphasised that their will not sell him right now.

Galatasaray does need Burak Yilmaz right now as it has lack of attackers at the team and club doesnt want to become poorer squad, especially being 11 points behind leaders. When Yilmaz also joined the club he has become almost straight-away a star player after having great period of Trabzonspor in previous season. It is normal for Shanghai to have such a big interest to sign Yilmaz as it plans to make its team stronger with star names.

The chances of Shanghai to purchase Burak Yilmaz is very low with both Yilmaz and club lack of want to sell him but this story does seem to be talked about up to the end of January transfer window.
