What happened in Turkish football today? 13.01.2016

Fenerbahce shows that it can score high number of goals per game.

Fenerbahce has got its most comfortable win of the season at the Turkish Cup game against Giresunspor with 6:1 scoreline. As the scoreline suggests it could easily be stated that Fenerbahce has controlled whole game and finding positions and had converted them to goals with highest rate so far. With the team going forward during whole game it became obvious that as a team, there were hungry for high number of goals.

Even through the start of the game and more or less whole first half didnt go with high number of attacks it was youth who start scoring goals for a Fenerbahce and hence opened this number of goals. With Giresunspor being weakest team at the group and with better condition field at home compare to Giresun at the last weekend it was pretty natural for team to control ball better and be able to do with it more actions and putting into behind the net 6 times. Even through Fenerbahce head coach Vitor Pereira states that Turkish Cup is least priority for them, players did decide to play high quality football without mercy towards opponent which led to well-deserved big score game.

Fenerbahce is starting 2nd half of the Super League in a very high note and shows to everyone that is willing to score high number of goals compare to 1st half games of the season especially when opponent allows. Following scene should make fans to be more confident about upcoming games performance of Fenerbahce both in the league and Europa League. Fenerbahce is among teams with highest motivation right now at the league.

Coming to Giresunspor, with such poor performance club now would just aim to get at least point/s from last two games at group stage and finish Turkish Cup at least in high note.

Galatasaray is in right mood prior to start of Super League.

With Galatasaray win against one of the famous clubs in Turkey, Karsiyaka, at the Turkish Cup in duration of 4 days and also those games being first games of the new season, Galatasaray has started 2016 year in a very positive mood, especially before restart of the Turkish Super League on this weekend. With club scoring three goals yesterday in duration of 5 minutes it was important for a team to get into right attitude for the Super League.

The game was actually was going for unexpected draw result with the two goals back to back coming from Aurelian Chedjou who has brought two goals which led for ticket to the play-off stage at the tournament and high motivation prior to restart of the Super League. The biggest gain of those two games was also lots of gameplay and good performance of Ryan Donk who know should feel ready for the Super League journey with his new club.

Galatasaray looks to be on positive note with league starting this weekend and might look even in more positive note at achieving of closure of 11 points of Besiktas, but of course we need to remember that what opponents do is beyond Galatasaray hands.

Besiktas will try to improve from first Trabzon 1461 game.

After 1:1 draw against Trabzon 1461 last weekend, Besiktas is so far only team among big 4 who does not have 100% record at the group stage of the Turkish Cup. At tomorrow's game, Besiktas will aim to provide better game at home, get in right mood before restart of the league and regain leadership at the group stage.

Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes will be expecting much better performance by his team at tomorrow game, as regardless if the cup is not taken seriously and is played by not best 11 players he still expects best performance from his players. With Trabzon 1461 always providing surprises in last few years, the task of Besiktas is bit harder but still in quality wise its playing game against weaker team than them so Besiktas quite naturally gets out as favourite. Also, its important for them to win game prior to restart of title race at the league.

Coming to Trabzon 1461, the draw at the weekend should provide confidence and morale to team, and it is certain that Trabzon will not play like it doesnt believe in victory. One thing is certain Trabzon will give their best tomorrow.
