What happened in Turkish football today? 12.01.2016

Galatasaray is highly motivated prior to restart of Super League.

Turkish Cup group stage 4th week game between Karsiyaka and Galatasaray has ended with 3:1 scoreline with Galatasaray victory and which also led team to qualify to play-off stage of the tournament. However, the interesting part of the game was that all of the goals has been scored since 84th minute of the game.

Even through first goal from Aurelian Chedjou has come at the 84th minute of the game, the control of the game was from start to the end at Galatasaray and the momentum after 1st game at the weekend was observed at the Galatasaray. Only problem prior to first goal was the lack of the converting this positions to the goals, and at the end of the game it was observed that reason for not scoring was for 1st goal not coming, as 1st goal has led to other 2 in duration of the 4 minutes. Only downside which could be observed is penalty kick which Karsiyaka has got and converted at the last minute of the game. This game will be sure be remembered for actions at the last 8 minutes of the game.

Galatasaray has continued its positive football following first game against Karsiyaka and right now is getting into restart of the league with high motivation as it has impossible task to achieve as it being 11 points behind leaders Besiktas. Those results will make sure that club starts league with high motivation and morale and with newly-signed player Ryan Donk being used to the team.

In the sense of Karsiyaka, it was just unlucky to meet with Galatasaray at the time when it was highly motivated with intention to stay like that in this week. However, team did play good football and should also provide its best at last two games at this Turkish Cup group stage.

Trabzonspor is one to watch at this season Turkish Cup.

Trabzonspor has once again shown to everyone that it is taken Turkish Cup this season in a serious manner with 4:1 victory against Adanaspor and has continued its 100% record at group stage so far, and guarentee its last 16 spot at the tournament. Trabzonspor is achieving this by scoring also high number of goals at each game of the tournament.

Trabzonspor has shown that it aims to get a win against Adanaspor as the game started with high number of attacks towards the goal of Adansaspor, and hence was leading game with 2:0 scoreline arleady at the 23rd minute. The main player of this victory is undoubetdly is Yusuf Erdogan who have scored two goals at the first half, making sure that club has arleady got a victory as game entered to the 2nd half. Trabzonspor as the team is providing one of the best performances so far at the tournament and should be one to watch out at this year tournament.

Right now, Trabzonspor has two tasks at the 2nd half of the season, is to get good results and finish as high as possible at the Super League and also get Turkish Cup in the May. Both of all this tasks are possible to achieve with the attitude which players is presenting right now. We are seeing very different Trabzonspor after Muharrem Usta has become CEO of the team.

Coming to Adanaspor, it is certain that fast-paced game by Trabzonspor and plus 2 quick goals it has saw at its goal has affected to the performance of the team for rest of the team. Only positive side is that it managed to score 1 prestige goal towards the end of the game, and now need to focus at last two games at group if it wants to get to next stage at the competition.

Fenerbahce reserves have chance to prove themselves to Pereira.

After positive result against Giresunspor at the Turkish Cup 3rd week game, both clubs will meet again in Istanbul tomorrow but this time with Fenerbahce squad being mainly by its substitutes and reserves players. In fact, Fenerbahce head coach Vitor Pereira idea was to use Turkish Cup in that way, but previous game being first game of calendar year he decided to use his main players.

As been mentioned at yesterday blog, this will provide to see some differences between players which are at starting 11 and its reserves and if their will be able to get same result which was gotten on Sunday. Fenerbahce will surely still aim for result as the reserves are trying to show their best to its current head coach Pereira and administrators of club. In game similar to Tuzlaspor we have seen this players playing its best football and trying their best to find goals.

Coming to Giresunspor, it has higher chance of making surprise result as it going to play against weaker side but the fact that the team so far is weakest at its group with 0 points prove that it could be still be difficult task. However, Giresunspor does need to play positive football in similar manner as their did in last weekend and look for gaining experience from opponents like Fenerbahce.
