What happened in Turkish football today? 16.01.2016

Galatasaray has shown that it is determined to get into title race.

Galatasaray has started 2nd half of the Super League with an important win against Sivasspor with 3:1 scoreline. Galatasaray has began its new beginning at the league and it attempt to get to the title race once again with an impressive win with a team at form Sivasspor who also have some targets for this half.

Galatasaray has started game at very fast pace with trying to get a fast goal and hence get control of the game on the early minutes of the game. With the help of Sivasspor, who brough totally needless penalty kick and with Galatasaray player Selcuk Inan converting it into a goal at 14th minute. After 10 minutes, Sinan Gumus has scored 2nd goal and from there on Galatasaray has control of the game.Galatasaray for almost all of the game has shown that it will try its best to improve its football at the 2nd half of the league and will fight for the title even if being 11 points behind league leaders with today performance. Only downside was conceding one goal by Teixeira and had lost some concentration at the 2nd half of the game.

With poorer performance at the 2nd half it could be argued that team is not great with stamina but still raising tempo of attacks after conceding goal means that team still can still react when things are not going as planned. Once again the task of being 11 points behind leaders is very difficult but today Galatasaray has shown that it is determined to achieve this difficult task.

Coming to Sivasspor, the fast pace of Galatasaray has provided some problems to Sivasspor and it had difficulty at responding to this fast pace especially at the 1st half. There were some signs which Sivasspor has shown positive football but in overall it has stayed behind allowing Galatasaray to control a game.

Besiktas is restarting the league with best scenario it could ask.

After having difficult two games against 1461 Trabzon at the Turkish Cup, Besiktas will restart its race for title at the Super League against trouble team Mersin IdmanYurdu. With Mersin IdmanYurdu having serious problems financially and with head coaches, Besiktas should not have much trouble at the game.

To all respect to Mersin IdmanYurdu, restarting Super League season against them is big plus for Besiktas as it is very expected that it will get win without trouble against the team who is most problematic at the Super League right now. Besiktas as the team does like to go forward and would very likely find lots of attacks at the tomorrow game and might even aim to get high amount of goals if the team will be at the good mood. Of course, it doesnt mean that Mersin IdmanYurdu will just sit behind and allow Besiktas to play whole game, but without much training the team has lack of morale and stamina.

Only way to Mersin IdmanYurdu at least to get some kind of result at the game tomorrow is to provide whole focus towards the game and try to control ball and aim to stop attacks of Besiktas. For now it seems to be only way to stop Besiktas by Mersin IdmanYurdu.

Trabzonspor and Bursaspor game could aid both teams to get into right mood for 2nd half of the season.

One of the most interesting games of this week will be between Bursaspor and Trabzonspor as both teams are having aims to restart its season with a focus at obtaining Europa League spots at the standings at the end of the season. Both teams will surely try their best at the game tomorrow.

Since appointing Sadi Tekelioglu as club's new head coach and in especially with Muharrem Usta becoming new CEO of the club the team has improved a lot. With economical problems at the club especially with salary of the players has been solved, players has reacted with more positive football and showing an improvement with each game and showing that it now aims to get positive results and go out at the standings of the Super League and get European spot at the end of the season. Playing against Bursaspor and getting positive results certainly would raise motivation of the team even more and would provide better view for the upcoming games at the rest of the Super League.

Coming to Bursaspor, similar things could be said for them as for Trabzonspor. By obtaining positive result at this crucial game could provide morale and motivation for the rest of the season and will help them to fight for European spots, but Trabzonspor is slightly favourite at the game tomorrow.
