What happened in Turkish football today? 25/09/2020

Besiktas urgently needs to find effective forward player

Following relegation from Champions League 2nd qualifier against PAOK, Besiktas has also been relegated from Europa League with losing to Rio Ave after penalties kicks where compare to previous game it did show better game but still very far from what was expected from them

Besiktas didnt have great start of the season which could be related mainly to lack of transfers, it has done especially at defence as current players especially Jeremain Lens could not fulfill with their performance which could be visible from how side performed against Rio Ave also without doubt and didnt provide much pressure which was needed in attacking game. Still, in positive note it could be stated that Besiktas did control game and did provide performance which showed it wanted to win game but lack of attacking creativity and strength without doubt went into hand of Rio Ave which did find equaliser without doubt in very important minute of the game which let game to additional time which led for penalty kicks which turn around in way which Besiktas has been aiming to provide without doubt.

Therefore, Besiktas did been eliminated from Europa League with ineffective performance in attack which reminds once again that it need forward players urgently.

Belhanda single-handedly brought wins to Galatasaray.

Younes Belhanda continues providing very good start of his season and reminding his importance to Galatasaray as he found two goals against Hajduk Split as soon as he entered to field in 2nd half.

It needs to be noted that prior to Belhanda entering to field, Galatasaray been one who did create chances and had high level of control in the game but without doubt Belhanda did raise tempo and creativity at the front and most importantly scoring 2 goals with bringing to side tickets to play-off round and provided some promises prior to Fenerbahce derby game without doubt. With such performance he without doubt did push quitness all criticism which he recieved prior to season as side wanted to sell him and would now be discussing this issue again very likely. Without doubt another star of the game been Marcao who provided perfect defensive performance with preventing Hajduk Split potentially dangerous opportunities. Therefore, Galatasaray did show that it being most organised so far in the Super League.

With such good performance it would now look with optimism to upcoming games against Fenerbahce and Glasgow Rangers.

Alanyaspor showed good game despite of loss to Rosenborg

Despite of getting unwanted result against experienced Rosenborg at Europa League it needs to be noted that Alanyaspor did provide pretty good performance even through it did concede from simple mistake.

Among as club which did play its first European football, there was also high number of players which also experienced there first experience in this level which would be expected would provide some pressure to players but most amount of time there did show some good game with also creating some number of the chances. However, calmness and effectiviness in all field for Rosenborg did lead win as Alanyaspor simple mistake could be relate for not being fully concentrated in that moment. Still, this provided good experience for Alanyaspor and there need to be remembered that there among 2 teams in Super League who got 2 out of 2 and need to forget about this game focussing to rest of the season.

Alanyaspor with result didnt get result it seeked for but still provided some good observations with how their performed in first game against experienced opponent.
