What happened in Turkish football today? 17/09/2020

Galatasaray got good scoreline against Neftci.

Galatasaray has got an important and confident win against Neftci Baku with 3:1 scoreline at the game which could be seen as good comeback of Diagne who has scored 2 great goals and did even more show himself that he wants to be back on team.

Even through our blog did predict tough game, it was expected that quality factor of the two side has big one regardless how good effort team from brother country for Turkey would be showing which their did and did in fact provide some momentarily pressure with making scoreline to 1:1 but fast response from Luyindama let Galatasaray not to get into unneccarily pressure which could be taken place. Despite of that unexpected early conceded goal during 2nd half it needs to be noted that in overall Galatasaray did provide pressure. It needs to be noted that among finding 2 goals, in generally Mbiaye Diagne provided strong and confident performance from start to an end. Even through his strong training which he did starting from pre-season shouldnt be seen as big surprise but the did show himself to be fully focussed to provide good performance level on the field too.

Still, Neftci Baku it needs to be noted did provide their best performance with staying focussed into game and trying to find great tempo of the game and finding goal on start of 2nd half and if their did provided better defensive response after that it could provide some pressure to opponent.

With this win Galatasaray has reached to 3rd qualifier where it would be meeting with tougher opponent Hajduk Split and before that will play difficult game against Basaksehirspor at Super League.

Trabzonspor loans Benick Afobe for 1-year

Trabzonspor has loaned Stoke City player Benik Afobe for 1-year as side aims to fill empty spaces of the side in this period of transfer as it currently did lose some of its key players and also having some injured players which regularly would been at starting 11.

Even through it was known that Trabzonspor did lose its strength from previous season, it became clear how much critical it is following Besiktas 3:1 loss where it showed pretty ineffective performance. As it started to fill up the missing spots, one of the 1st deals has been made with 1-year loan with Afobe. With Trabzonspor head coach Eddie Newton, being familiar with Premier League as he worked with Chelsea as assistant coach, it could be expected that he would be focusing with some players coming from England which both would be able to come from modest prices and also provide strength. Without doubt Afobe is being among this players and this transfer is expected to make side into stronger in midfielding area.

Hence, this been very good and effective transfer for sure with Trabzonspor still continues to get some more names for upcoming games.

Besiktas signs Gokhan Tore for 1-year

It is reported that Besiktas has made deal with its ex-player Gokhan Tore for 1-year with 4 million TL salary as Tore would be also joining to his old coach Sergen Yalcin with who he has worked on Yeni Malatyaspor.

Taking account that of reasonable price, player playing beforehand in club, Yalcin wanting player a lot and Tore also wanting to join Besiktas it was expected for him to join for long time with only some salary issues has been discussed which it does look to be solved for 4 million TL. Even through it could be argued that Tore is pretty far from his peak years which he showed at Besiktas, he is still highly dedicated player and does have some strong connection with his club so he would be at least aiming to show good performance with Sergen Yalcin also trusting him highly which also provide confidence to player and whole side.

Therefore, this side could be seen as very effective and could provide lots of help for Besiktas next season.
