What happened in Turkish football today? 01/09/2020

Besiktas could get potential tough draw.

Draw for Europa League 3rd qualifying round has been taken place where Besiktas, Alanyaspor and potentially Galatasaray would be taking place as all sides would be awaiting for their opponent from 2nd qualifier games.

Besiktas following draw has potential of possibly getting toughest opponent, as Portuguese Rio Ave would be coming as favourites during 1 leg tie against Borac Banja Lika and if there would not be surprise on that tie Besiktas could even have more tough fixture compare to PAOK to who it has lost at Champions League and hence been relegated from that tournament. Stating that it could even have tough game with Borac if their get through as their would get win from game as underdogs. Besiktas following PAOK did make few transfers and likely to make even more for that tie, as this squas still shows some absences for upcoming season.

Besiktas did get tough draw for 3rd qualifier and needs to learn lessons and improve from PAOK until that game for sure.

Galatasaray did get manageable opponents at Europa League.

If Galatasaray manages to get through Neftci during 2nd qualifier of Europa League, it would be meeting with winners of Macedonian Renova or Croatian Hajduk Split, with both clubs which like them has some experience especially European qualifiers.

With showing pretty poor performance towards end of previous season, Galatasaray would be hoping to show some strong bouncing back for this season as it would be aiming to do so both in league and Europa League as September would be going through difficult and eventufl for them without doubt. It is reported that side looks to be on right focus during pre-season training camp and hence could provide some good performance.Meanwhile, among all this 3 opponents from which 1 it would be meeting for sure and 2nd one if it passes Neftci, most toughest being Hajduk Split which does have some good result around Europe League for sure but still in capacity to get to play-off stage likely.

Galatasaray has busiest period for this month and needs to prepare accordingly for sure.

Alanyaspor could have some tough time.

If Ventspils, at worst could be seen in same level as Alanyaspor at Europa League 3rd qualifier tie with possibility can win, Rosenborg could be tough fixture for them for being among main clubs which having strong European experience and being best club in Norway.

It needs to be remembered that this would be first time Alanyaspor would be competing in Europe after highly successful performance in past season where it even enjoyed leadership but it did lose number of very imporant player in this transfer window and also coach Erol Bulut which could be sadly for them prevent to repeat similar performance, which could have negative impact for upcoming season including especially in Europe. Therefore, it would be crucial for them to believe on this tie and prepare with full focus.

Alanyaspor did provide confident and strong performance on previous season and it should aim to do same in this tie.
