What happened in Turkish football today? 20/11/2018

Last international game for Turkey in 2018 has ended without goals.

Last international friendly game during calendar year of 2018 between Turkish National Team and Ukrainian National Team has been ended with 0:0 scoreline as Turkey has provided pretty good attacking game during most part of the 2nd half.

In this blog entry, we have decided to focus into positive aspect of this game as Turkish National Team has shown pretty good performance especially in beginning of the 2nd half with creating high amount of the chances with high number of substitutes and has provided pretty good game with introduction of Cenk Tosun to the game playing here an important role. Coming to the 1st half Turkey didnt provide great game with it being stable and high control game which was also showing from Ukraine. With this friendly game to be scheduled it has been played in such manner with both sides aiming to focus to see its players. It needs to be admitted that Ukraine didnt provide much attacking performance, it still has shown good test to Turkey with focussing to show controllable game. Still, Turkish National Team does have an issue at finding goals as this being 4 games back-to-back without scoring goal and hence does show that team has an issue with converting goals and having an attacking leader which seems to be also issue in Turkish football this year. Turkey did show some positive aspects as stated by still it wasnt enough from them.

Ukraine meanwhile as been stated did provide controllable game with main focus for head coach Andriy Shevchenko to test players which doesnt recieve much playing time and taking account that team didnt conceded and didnt aim to score much he would been satisfied from today game.

Turkish National Team has seen this calendar year with building new team and it wasnt very successful done with being eliminated to League C at Nations League. Squad still provides some optimism for future but Mircea Lucescu performance sadly doesnt much.

Trabzonspor player Juraj Kucka will not be able to play for 3-6 weeks.

Trabzonspor player Juraj Kucka has become injured during Nations League League B game against Czech Republic and hence would not be able to play for around 3-6 weeks and would be missing an important game against Fenerbahce this week.

Juraj Kucka are among main players at the squad which are capable at showing good performance at the midfielder and plays an important role of moving team forward strategically so his absence certainly would affect arleady unstable team with creating attacks which would be crucial aspects for both Fenerbahce and rest of the season games. It would be even more important without Kucka for certain for a team to focus at providing even more team player as game would be coming up as attackers who does show unstable but when at form good performance would possibly need to even move backwards to get ball. Kucka absence again might not affect drastically at performnace wise but it would have some circumstances and team would need to do some changes tactically.

It is not good news for head coach Unal Karaman for not having Kucka at his disposal until 2nd half of the season and he does to find out alternatives at the team.

Southampton are interested to transfer Besiktas player Pepe.

Southampton are interested to transfer Besiktas player Pepe, whose Turkish club are interested to sell during mid-season transfer window due of high salary and their are rumours that both clubs are close to make deal.

Southampton could be aiming ot make one of its biggest transfer in recent past as it currently are having transfer negotiations with Besiktas for their player Pepe, according to both Turkish and British media. It was stated at our blog beforehand that Besiktas are willing to sell its player in this transfer window and it would be glad to see for Premier League to show an interest with player. Stating that their are other clubs in Asia and Arabic peninsula who are showing interest with Pepe, and hence it would have some talks with them but it is very likely for Pepe to be willing to stay in Europe so that makes deal with Southampton to be pretty close and would help Besiktas to sort out at least bit its economical issues which it seems to have with.

Besiktas does look to be selling its Pepe this mid-season transfer window issue is only here to which club and it does look Southampton are close to make deal.
