What happened in Turkish football today? 18/11/2018

Turkish National Team has ended League B campaign at last place and has been relegated.

Turkish National Team which does go through an important transformation with head coach Mircea Lucescu as it aims to reduce its average age has completed Nations League League B Group 2 at dissapointingly last place and has been eliminated to League C.

Turkish National Team did come out to its last game at the Nations League against Sweden with an aim to win game and keep its place at the competition without being related to last game between Russia and Sweden but from conceding from penalty goal as Granqvist has scored has prevented this aim. It needs to be noted that Turkey did start game at pretty good manner looking for an early goal but as been mentioned at blog yesterday it has lost its speed and team has started playing much more slower speed and has been into getting lesser changes. This project of making team younger is an important move but it seems to an issue that Mircea Lucescu at least for now seems to have trouble at letting players getting results. His complaints to some extend are true such as players not recieving much time at their clubs but it his job to make sure that side plays best football.

Turkish National Team would complete its international break with friendly game against Ukraine on 20th November as their opponents has been moved to League A after its League B games and hence could be good test for Euro 2020.

Besiktas considers to sell its player Pepe.

Their are being talks right now at Besiktas of selling its player Pepe during mid-season transfer window due of him getting older as player and also requesting for high salary as team needs to find cash right now.

It needs to be noted that in overall Pepe did show some good performance so far at the team with finding some important goals earlier, but it is clear that he is not at same level which he has shown at World Cup 2018 among other defender Domadoj Vida. It could be stated that one of the key reasons of this, with Pepe, could be due of physical aspects as he does get older and his effectivity and speed would be reducing as time goes by. Even through he did start season good, his level of performance did been dropped as season progresses as seems to be case right now. Of course, if Besiktas would be selling Pepe it would need to find player who would be in similar level but cost much less and be much younger than him and would be able to adapt to the team for 2nd half of the season without much issues.

It is seen that club does consider stronger to sell him but time would show what kind of offers would player recieve during upcoming transfer window.

Konyaspor are interested to transfer Aatif.

Konyaspor are interested to transfer Fenerbahce player Aatif Chachehouhue who is currently is been taken out of squad as his ex-coach Aykut Kocaman who has moved to Konyaspor wants to get his old student.

It needs to be remembered that Aatif Chacheuhue has been among players who has been wanted from Aykut Kocaman during his reign as head coach at the team and did show some good performance. Taking account that Konyaspor squad is pretty limited this transfer could be effective for the side as it would be player with pretty good quality and is familiar to the league and did show some good performance in similar level team namely Sivasspor. It is known that Fenerbahce does consider to sell Aatif during upcoming transfer window, so it would not be strong surprise if this transfer would be made without much issue with possible talks being about transfer fee and salary of the player, but with Aatif also knowing that his options are pretty limited will be accepted to accept this chance to work again with Aykut Kocaman.

As always, time would show if deal would be made but it does seem to be pretty strong option for Aatif right now.
