What happened in Turkish football today? 09/11/2018

Yeni Malatyaspor finds itself 3 points behind league leaders with win against Trabzonspor.

Trabzonspor has got a shocking loss to Yeni Malatyaspor during Super League 12th week game as club didnt manage to win their last 4 games and even through previous games ended with draw, in today's game Black Sea side didnt get any upper hand as game progressed.

Statistacally, it could be stated that Trabzonspor was one who was getting into high amount of the chances but when it came time to convert them, their opponents Yeni Malatyaspor has been one who has managed to score. Trabzonspor side which did state doesnt provide continous performance this season is certainly right now finds itself at big drop of performance with this game being worst performance without doubt. It needs to be stated that game did become in pretty dull way and with Yeni Malatyaspor doesnt providing great performance until finding 36th minute was wasted from Trabzonspor without getting an upper hand. Meanwhile it did become that absence of strong attacker player Burak Yilmaz, regardless how much he deserved not to play today, has been felt as he could convert some chances more effectively and even through it is not certain that Trabzonspor would win with Burak Yilmaz, the game would been played in different manner for certain. Trabzonspor was mainly too slow after goals start coming while Yeni Malatyaspor has been dominated game.

Yeni Malatyaspor didnt only get historical win against Trabzonspor, with to some extend this being biggest win at the history of the club, but also finds itself 3 points behind league leaders Basaksehirspor and for today are at 2nd place. Among being in that position, Yeni Malatyaspor with today and overall performance deserves where its supposed to be.

Trabzonspor did provide pretty poor performance without much control and to some extend issues at problem are easy to identify but difficult part is to find solutions. Yeni Malatyaspor meanwhile does show itself that its capable to fight league leaders position.

Besiktas does need an attacker to find goals more often when it gets chances.

Even through Besiktas did show pretty attacking and defensive game during Europa League Group I game against Genk, making slight mistake at the defensive and also finding only one goal has led team to lose 2 crucial points in Belgium.

It needs to be admitted that compare to previous games Besiktas did show some good improvement as it was much more focussed to provide an organised game both in attack and defence. But it needs to be stated that finding only goal which did come from great assist from Mustafa Pektemek and good last touch shot from Ricardo Quaresma, does show that team has some issues at the front and are uncapable to convert goals. Therefore, this game has certainly once again reminded team that it does need to transfer quality attacker during mid-season transfer window. Still, Besiktas performance did provide some hope for upcoming games as it was willing to look for chances and did show organised game even through lost of it as been stated did cost them 2 points at the end. Besiktas right now is placed at last-spot but still has advantage due of closeness of such group and needs to get crucial points at last 2 weeks for sure.

Besiktas didnt only lose for loss concentration but also not converting chances and with Genk playing good football it should not be great surprise for them to find good quality goal at the end of game.

Valbuena has provided important role for win against Anderlecht.

Fenerbahce player Mathieu Valbuena without doubt has become hero for his team with a win against Anderlecht during Europa League Group D as his performance has become turning point of the game.

It does need to be stated as was mentioned at yesterday entry that Fenerbahce didnt provide great performance during game before finding its 1st goal, as Anderlecht did control game for most part of the game and also creating chances. With luck of Fenerbahce that Anderlecht did lack at providing last touches has kept Fenerbahce in the game. With Valbuena adding tempo with his performance with finding good goal on 71st minute, which was actually focussed as assist to Ayew, and also unegoistic pass towards Michael Frey has provided an important  3 points and has placed them 4 point advantage over 3rd placed team Spartak Trnava with 2 games left with one of the being against Trnava next week. With Erwin Koeman taking role of caretaker coach, Fenerbahce didnt much improve with performance but did raise fighting spirit and only problem seem to be that it doesnt able to provide great performance until finding 1st goal and this an area, which is mainly, psychologically which team need to work for until Alanyaspor game and more effectively during national team break.

Fenerbahce does find itself in good position for knockout stage and might still fight for leadership as long as Dinamo Zagreb loses next week against Anderlecht.
