What happened in Turkish football today? 12/11/2018
Besiktas has lost another game this time against Sivasspor.
Besiktas carries on providing poor performance in recent weeks as it has lost to Sivasspor with 2:1 scoreline during Super League 12th week game without able to providing strong performance at the attack and start losing support from their fans.
It needs to be admitted that Besiktas did start game in good way and an early goal from Guven Yalcin did provide some positive aspects, as Yalcin meanwhile has become best player from Besiktas during whole game. But as Baz has found equalizer after 3 minutes, Besiktas started losing its tempo and an effective game as the factor of team getting older and losing its speed which was visible in previous games is becoming clear and clear as season progresses. Besiktas right now is failing not only to win games but also showing good game and with finding itself 9 points behind league leaders Basaksehirspor and at 7th spot does provide an important worrying images for the team without doubt. Besiktas players Oguzhan Ozyakup two mistakes which has cost Besiktas a win does provide another worrying image both to the player and side and this are areas which need to be worked on during upcoming national team break.
Things at Besiktas it is visible are not going well and planned and hence some internal and external issues would need to be solved during this crucial national team break as team would aim to keep its chances high when it enters mid-season break next month.
Fenerbahce showed big transformation after Cocu has left team.
With Phillip Cocu has been sacked from his position and Fenerbahce taking Erwin Koeman as assistant coach, Fenerbahce didnt manage to lose single game which includes comeback against Galatasaray as team has scored 6 goals during 3 games.
The main role of this has been of course full trust from coach towards Mathieu Valbuena and reaction the player has shown with fullfilling all of the trust which was given by Koeman. Valbuena with his fast-paced game has managed to raise tempo of whole team as he has fought incredible high prior to assist to Ayew and also perfect free-kick towards head of Michael Frey who found 2nd goal. With Valbuena showing great game during game, whole team seems to be improving with him as team won Alanyaspor with 2:0 scoreline. However, when he does come out of the game, the tempo does fall and Fenerbahce to some extend needs to show main focus with Harun Tekin taking leading role at the yesterday game as the game could have ended. Fenerbahce it needs to be mentioned is still not showing great performance but it is going into right direction and this break could provide team to improve even more for upcoming games.
Surely, Fenerbahce main aim for next 5 games prior to mid-season break would be to reduce point difference against leaders to as minumum as it can but of course winning all games might not be enough for that.
Konyaspor has sacked Riza Calimbay due of disrespectful behaviour.
Konyaspor has announced that it has sacked its head coach Riza Calimbay due of unexpected behaviour towards coach during meetings with club administrators and has become another club to sack its coach.
Konyaspor is failing to fulfill its expectations which were set for this season but as club has announced today this is not main reason for this sacking decision as it does look like that during meetings regarding club administrators and Riza Calimbay, Calimbay has provided some disrespectul behaviour which led for this decision. This could be related to finances or upcoming transfer talks or other matters which are related to the football team, but if Calimbay does provide disrespectful behaviour to upper side of the team that he would need to leave team as him staying could only provide damage to the team and hence to the performance wise.
It needs to be stated that it would be hopeful that Rizes[or would make even clearer statement about reasons of ending contract with him to make it even comprehinsible this decision.
