What happened in Turkish football today? 06/11/2018

Galatasaray puts its chance for knockout stage into difficulty with conceding 2 goals from simple mistakes.

Galatasaray has provided pretty dissapointing performance during Champions League Group D 4th week game against Schalke 04 as it has lost game with 2:0 scoreline with making simple mistakes and now finds themselves 4 points behind Schalke who are at 2nd place.

Galatasaray has been stated beforehand did come out to the game with worst result it could get was to draw, but with also not having best squad and also possibly being affected from announcement by PFDK that high number of players and personnel has been referred did provided some negative morale to the team. Stating that it needs to be mentioned that Galatasaray did have some lack of concentration towards game and apart of two good chances didnt provide much attacking game. Galatasaray did provide downfall of its performance in recent weeks so how much its been affected by psychology factor is not clear much to be fair. Galatasaray aslo has conceded 2 goals from pretty simple position with one being unexpected mistake or more concise of lack to control ball which led Budstinger to shoot at empty goal while 2nd goal has been mainly conceded from pretty simple defensive mistake. Galatasaray even more worrying didnt manage to raise tempo during game which could be its strong weapon against Schalke but in fact Galatasaray provided tempo has been went into hand for Schalke 04 especially after 2nd goal. Galatasaray has once again found itself to get to the knockout stage with results based into other game and being behind 4 points with 2 games left does make task difficult.

Schalke 04 has provided much more controlled but same time effective game compare to previous meeting which was played at 3rd week with mainly using its advantage of playing at home and did get an important win against Galatasaray getting closer to next round.

Galatasaray does have right now difficult task at getting to knockout stage after this loss and now needs to win all 2 games left at the group stage and wait for losses from Schalke 04, which is tough case for them indeed.

Alanyaspor and Sivasspor terminate contract with their coaches due of poor performance.

At pretty busy day at the Turkish football today, one of the unexpected developments has took place with Sivasspor and Alanyaspor as both clubs has terminated contract with their head coach Tamer Tuna and Mesut Bakkal due of poor results of the team recently.

With this season being pretty played at unexpected manner, their are still number of the clubs which are showing pretty poor performance and are uncapable to raise to their full potential, with foremost being for certain Fenerbahce, but it could be similar said both for Sivasspor and Alanyaspor which are just above relegation zone right now. One of the biggest dissapointment to this could be seen performance of Tamer Tuna at Sivasspor who has shown pretty good performance last season at

Goztepe was expected to move team ahead after last season where it did show pretty decent performance while Mesut Bakkal performance at Alanyaspor in all respect to them should not be seen as big surprise for sure. Both clubs are likely to come out with caretaker coaches during this week games and later at the national team break would be busy at finding their replacements with possibly being Turkish coaches as their tend to dominate Super League this season.

Both teams did provide pretty poor performance so far in this season and this termination of contract should not be seen as big surprise for sure.

Trabzonspor has provided 500,000 TL fine to its player Burak Yilmaz.

One of the awaiting aspects during this week has been about finding out fate of the Trabzonspor player Burak Yilmaz after his disrespectful behaviour when being substituted during Super League 11th week game against Bursaspor.

Their were some strong rumours going around at the media that club has terminated contract with the player and strong possibility that team has taken this into table when having meeting about player, but the final decision was to provide him highest fine as possible which states as 500,000 TL. Trabzonspor has stated that this is being biggest fine which could be given and it was glad to see that club has decided to provide such actions as this behaviour is not allowed and is being disrespectful to anyone at clubs especially including people higher at his rank. Burak Yilmaz should learn an important lesson from this incident being aware that anyone would be pushed due of their unexpected behaviour regardless their status and would act more careful in upcoming games for sure with keeping his feelings inside.

Trabzonspor did right thing and has provided an important message to the player and could help come to senses for upcoming period for sure.
