What happened in Turkish football today? 15/11/2018

Damien Comolli has stated that club would like to see Erwin Koeman as coach.

Fenerbahce sports director Damien Comolli during an interview at club's channel has announced that club wants to continue with Erwin Koeman as team head coach until end of the season.

Comolli has stated during an interview that team is very satisfied with performance which team has shown with Koeman as Fenerbahce has won 2 games and has drawn against Galatasaray, and more importantly level of performance has been improved pretty visually with players start enjoying at playing team. Taking in circumstances and additing that to the general performance of the players especially of the Mathieu Valbuena, this could be seen as right decision as team start showing quite confidently some winning spirit and also good performance. It needs to be noted that Fenerbahce issues which it does have during this season will not be solved with this decision and Koeman would have some difficult time and pressure, but he did show that he is capable to get over them as last 3 games has been very important for the team both domestically and also Europa League. Certainly, with being appointed officially in upcoming days Erwin Koeman would be able to focus even more for the team to move forward for certain.

Erwin Koeman would now focus for sure to provide even better game until next week against Trabzonspor and also start consider transfers in mid-season window.

Kayserispor has recieved mid-season transfer ban.

FIFA has announced today that Kayserispor has recieved 150,000 euro fine and also ban to transfer players for mid-season transfer window for not paying salaries at time previously towards its players.

It has become clear that FIFA has in fact provided an option for Kayserispor to use its ban for transfer window either for summer transfer window or mid-season transfer window and Kayserispor, in very logical manner, has used its right not to transfer players during mid-season transfer as transfer activity during that period tends to be much shorter and less effective. It needs to be noted also that current squad at the team is not too bad and is capable to stay at least at the league but role of the players would be felt even more as their responsbility would be raised until next season at least and their need to give their best and take team as best. To some extend, recieving only one transfer ban would not be critical to team but as stated its important to go over this period in very organised manner with right economical decisions.

Kayserispor meanwhile also seem to be calm with such decision with possibly even waiting for worser and seem to believe that their capabiliites would still help him decent season.

Trabzonspor, Besiktas and Fenerbahce consider to exchange unwanted players with each other.

With this national team break continuing and also mid-season transfer window coming close first transfer talks start getting more active with their talks where would Besiktas player Tolgay Arslan would move after being taken away from squad.

Interestingly, the main possibility for Tolgay Arslan lies to other players who has been taken out of squad. Namely, Fenerbahce player Ozan Tufan and Trabzonspor player Burak Yilmaz, as clubs at the question consider to exchange their players with Tolgay Arslan. One of the issues seems to be that Burak Yilmaz does have high salary compare to other players, and with both Besiktas and Fenerbahce aware that their need to provide that salary to Yilmaz to some extend reluctant to transfer him even if their aware that Yilmaz could make their sides stronger. It also been reported that Trabzonspor and Besiktas even has made deal with each other and now are left for players and managers to make deal with each other. The time as always would show how this movement from unwanted players in their clubs would go to each other or not as transfer window would open.

Economically and tactically it is effective way of doing transfers but it is unclear how it would work in real life terms.
