What happened in Turkish football today? 05/05/2020

One of the Ankaragucu players has got positive Covid19 test

One of the unnamed Ankaragucu players, one of the names actually being circulated in the media but not been confirmed, has got positive Covid19 test following routine tests run by club on 4th May.

Club CEO Firat Mert during his announcement has stated that players is currently being taken into hospital right now where he is going through control. However, for the sake of precautions its been decided that team would be moved into 11th May due of some possibility for virus easier to be spread into some other players or due of much more stronger disinfection to be taken place at facilities. Even through this could be seen as unneccesarily move, this is understandably right action as much as precautions would be taken better it would be to reduce possibility for virus to be spreading. Therefore, all this actions without doubt are necessarily.

Of course, this possibility of more players who could get positive tests would raise again questions how much its secure and safe to restart season next month.

Besiktas foreign players have arrived to Istanbul and started quarantine period.

Besiktas players Victor Ruiz, Jeremain Lens, Kevin Prince Boateng and Kevin Nkoudou has arrived to Istanbul following their visit from their home countries and would be going through 14-day quarantine.

As plans to restart season on 12th June is slowly getting into effect, despite of still official statement not being made, clubs start organising their training session programs with foreign players arriving to Turkey right now from their own country and going through 14-day quarantine which their need to do so before their could be joining training session. Meanwhile, it is been reported that quarantines has been equiped with sports items so players could be staying fit before training session as all of them would be sharing facilities together.

Right now its crucial for them to stay fit and focussed for restart of the season training with belief that it would restart.

Decision about fate of rest of the season expects to come within this week.

It does look like final decision to restart league or not would be given in upcoming period as TFF CEO Nihat Ozdemir did have meeting with health minister Fahrettin Koca to discuss about possibility for restarting season even through details were not announced of meeting.
It needs to be noted that Turkish government are planning right now to get into normalisation with some measures being taken down due of active cases dropping by each day in Turkey on daily basis.

However, and government states that this need to be taken with slow steps and not rushing with some decisions as once again mistake could lead to some unwanted circumstances. Football as been noted is being field which does have high posibility of getting infected as it being contract sport, and as could be seen in some countries, some dont want to risk posibility for it to be spreading in such community. Therefore, TFF and government are going through difficult period right now as solution is aimed to be found in this situation.

Decision or at least idea of kind of decision could be come soon is expected to be made within this week and hence keep in touch with our pages and blogs.
