What happened in Turkish football today? 01/05/2020

Galatasaray CEO Mustafa Cengiz is being currently at hospital for feeling unwell.

Galatasaray CEO Mustafa Cengiz has been put into hospital due of complaints of feeling unwell and due of losing weight on 30th April which could be due of some stressful period with trying to manage club.

Club has announced that their did go through Covid 19 tests which did turn out to be negative and hence is not related to this sickness however it does need to be noted for precaution measure it would be important for doctors to provide some more tests. Its important here for our readers not to get wrong impression, obviously this blog doesnt want for Cengiz to get virus, but it is known that this tests does provide one result and then change it so purely for precaution measure. However it does look on 1st glance to be reason of feeling unwell due of managining in such difficult period due of Covid 19 pandemic to its economy.

Our page wishes for fast recovery for Cengiz and be ready to move his club forward at short notice for sure.

Start active training after 2 weeks could run some risks for infection.

One of the active discussions right now is question if sides would be ready to start full training session on 12th May, since most club are planning according to provisional restart date of the league of 12th June.

Even through restart of the season is being discussed actively for 12th June, it is been stated in our
blog that this date is being just provisional and despite of reduction of Covid-19 new cases on daily report, condition in Turkey is still being unclear even through it does show some important signs of optimism. Still, and taking account of unwanted but realistic rise of cases during Ramadan period can look to be uncertain set date for restart of the season. Another matter is for clubs to be providing much more effective training session with most clubs aiming to start one month earlier to maximasize readiness to very important last 8 weeks of the game. With taking account that its not really yet under control virus in country, there would be some risk to be starting training session which for sure would raise some worries.

In fact, even if TFF makes final of restart of season on 12th June, there is risk for some players, even through its not very high, to get infected which would be thrown in conscience of people who made this potential decision.

For relegation not to be included, this season should not be completed.

Ankaragucu CEO Fatih Mert has repeated his request do not count relegation during this season, stating that 5-6 clubs also share this request to be taken into account, those clubs likely to be also close to relegation.

It is here important to note, obviously, that if season would be resumed and completed during summer period then there would be no need to take away relegation as games would be completed and should be only taken into account if season would be cancelled. According to that, it can follow Dutch version, where TFF would be counting this season to be white season and take away relegation. However, in this version there might be an issue of unhappiness from 1st league sides. Therefore, club would alternatively go for 20 teams league next season with keeping all Super League sides and bring 1-2 spots from lower league. However, this also being problematic due of possible league starting as late as September and also completing in mid-May due of next summer Euro 2020.

Therefore this is model for not including relegation but TFF needs to go through but before that this season should be announced as white season.
