What happened in Turkish football today? 20/05/2020
It looks strange that 18 clubs has agreed for leagues to be resumed.
TFF CEO Nihat Ozdemir following meeting with Clubs Union to discuss about future of this season has made very short statement which raised high amount of the questions which included comment that all 18 clubs has agreed for leagues to be resumed on 12th June and also 7 clubs requesting for relegation not to happen.
It needs to be noted that as it is known for some period of time that some number of the clubs has stated publicly that their didnt want for leagues to be resumed so it does raise question what it has led for those clubs to change their mind about this issue during such short period of the meeting. Some of the clubs did openly state that their didnt want for leagues to be resume, so it does raise question of what did Nihat Ozdemir do and mention in the meeting. There is sadly could be also version that Ozdemir statement might not represent whole truth as it would become more clear in upcoming from clubs to the media.
This statement that 18 clubs has agreed for leagues to be resumed does provide interesting and unexpected development to say least as many sides were against it.
7 clubs suggest for leagues to be completed.
Another interesting point which been raised by Ozdemir has been note that 7 clubs has asked for leagues not to have relegation during this season which does raise question of why leagues should be played on first place.
In other words, if leagues should be resumed and all clubs are willing for it to end then what the point of taking away relegation during this season due of the factor that bottom halves of the table which is around half of clubs would be playing for no particular season. It seems weird that TFF would even take such note with consideration. If leagues were discussed to be white season then this could be taken into consideration but when its played it should be following with its old rules. Therefore, without doubt this would be unexpectable and if season to be completed it should be with relegation.
TFF made another interesting decision and even through its been suggested from other clubs this is being unexpected even for them to take into consideration.
TFF will have meeting with clubs doctors on 23rd May.
TFF has also announced that it would be having meeting with 18 Super League clubs doctors on 23rd May to discuss about making into practice of brochure which makes clear how Covid19 could be prevented in facilities and during game.
With TFF being determined to restart season on 12th June, it has decided to have meeting with club doctors to make sure that everything would be done for their players and staff members would be staying safe and will not be getting Covid 19 positive results during this period. This could provide some guidelines and provide opportunity to get some answers regarding what should be done at club level from doctors.
This meeting should be very productive as long as TFF will provide clear guidelines to clubs during it.
