What happened in Turkish football today? 04/02/2020

Loris Karius has terminated contract with Besiktas

Besiktas-loaned player Loris Karius has announced that he has terminated contract with his team since their didnt provide salary for very long time and since club is not focussed to solve this issue he didnt have much solution.

Even through Besiktas are going through difficult period which it is been arleady economically but became even more worser during Covid 19 cases it did have some issues with paying to its players and asked them to go for reduction of salary. However, in our view in quite reasonable manner, those players demand their payments for unpaid salary which their demand. It does need to be noted however Besiktas who was considering to end contract with Karius in the end of the season did pretty cunning move as their wanted to end loan deal. However, it need to be stated, even through it does have financial issues, treatment of such issue is not expectable and would give poor image to them.

Therefore, it did end loan deal with Karius which could be seen as pleasant development for themselves but it needs to solve same issues with other foreign players.

Nihat Ozdemir would be meeting with health minister Fahrettin Koca

TFF CEO Nihat Ozdemir is planning to meeting with Turkish Health minister Fahrettin Koca to discuss about current situation of the Covid19 development in country and also if it would be safe hence to continue league with such circumstances.

Without doubt, main focus right now is to resume season on 12th June which is being focus right now, but there are some uncertainties in football community right now if it would be smart thing to do in health conditions as this blog has been discussed. As been noted several times during our blog, there is an issue right now of cases to be falling in Turkey but as been noted several times one small mistake could led even worser circumstances to country in the end and hence it would be having rise of cases which hence would be main focus in the meeting.

TFF therefore are focussing to restat season but same time dont want to risk it due of some circumstances it could lead for them.

Fenerbahce has its first training session since leagues stopped.

Fenerbahce has resumed its training session first time since league has been postponed with having some sessions with 4 players where trainers and other stuff has provided all of the precautions to prevent virus to be spreading.

Fenerbahce clearly has taken all of its precautions in very high level up to disenfecting its football prior to training session as it posted picture in its social media with all of the trainers wearing masks and being careful with social distancing. From pictures it could be seen that it was mainly warm up training focussing into social distancing. All this does raise question if this would be new way of training for the teams prior to restart of the season.

Covid-19 is changing our lives in all aspects which includes footballing world and training session.
