What happened in Turkish football today? 30/05/2020

Some positive tests results still come out from football clubs.

Even through TFF and all of the clubs are preparing for Super League resume date which is highly expected to be on 12th June, there were some unwanted news regarding of Covid19 virus within clubs during past 2 days.

With Gaziantep announcing that 1 personnel has got virus and has been taken into isolation, without doubt most shocking and worrying news did come out from Yeni Malatyaspor which announced that to prior announced player with Covid19, other 4 and 1 personnel has got positive outcome. With players not being announced it does been interested if those players are starting 11 regulars and would be ready for resume of the league after 2 weeks even through upcoming tests would be playing crucial role here with it being clear if their would be ready to play.

As always we would be calling for fast recovery and hope in future we would not recieve other positive test results from football community.

Besiktas has disinfected Vodafone Park.

Besiktas has become 1st club in Super League to provide intense disinfection work at its stadium following release of guideline and it would be highly expected that it would be done in regular base in all stadiums prior and during rest of this season.

It needs to be stated for sure that intense cleaning of every point in the stadium with disinfection would provide very important role during its fight against Covid19 in football community. It needs to be reminded that TFF guideline quite rightly has stated that responsibility for provide secure conditions during its fight at the Covid19 would needed to be done by stadiums themselves for sure so it wont be spreading. Hence disinfection works in the stadiums would play incredibly important role during this period of new normal at football.

Without doubt some other clubs would start its intense work of disinfection at its stadiums in upcoming period for sure and provide safety measures.

Normalisation process in Turkey from 1st June is risky move

With leagues are highly planned to be starting on 12th June, their is upcoming normalisation process would be starting place in Turkey from 1st June with restaurants, parks, bars, internal travel would be allowed following some restrictions.

It been criticised by some that this measures could be taken into too early and could rise once again number of daily cases, with this blog writer having such worry also. Without doubt,if that would be situation it would also affect into Super League if numbers would go that higher. It is important to note that this blog writer, doesnt state that war style should be taken but sadly current daily cases are misleading since we had 4 day curfew during 23rd to 26th May so people didnt go out and numbers does tend to come after 2 days from test. It does look that all we depend how people would act next week. It is true that for economy some relexation needed but it could be case when things would get back to place where it was or even worser as been case with South Korea and Iran.

Therefore, and hopefully it would not be case, but normalisation of 1st June in country could have some unwanted circumstances.

In other news:

Tests would be done 2 days prior to gameday and on the day higher then 37.8 temperature will not be allowed.

TFF has announced crucial guidelines to prevent spreading of Covid 19 during football games which finally did provide clear guidelines how possible spread of the virus could be stopped to spread.

Today blog entry would entirely focus into this guideline as it being an important role.
Without doubt, one of the most important aspects which needed to be mentioned in this guidelines is regarding how people would be selected to get into the field to prevent infected person to be on the stadium. It needs to be stated that it would be following Bundesliga example with players would be taking Covid 19 tests prior 2 days before game. In addition, during entry of the stadium, there would be measuring temperature of everyone and would be declined entry if its higher then 37.8 degrees. Another decision would be to accept team bus into stadium for 15 minutes between both clubs and referees to keep interaction into minumum level. This decisions at least would be able to keep possibility of virus to get into circulation at stadium to minumum.

As been noted this points does follow Bundesliga and if its done correctly will be reducing chances for virus to come into circulation into minumum.

Outside of the field would be always be worn mask during games.

Another focus which needs to be noted is how substitute players would be put into to reduce maximum interaction and follow 1.5 metre rule which is believed to reduce chance to infect close-by with Covid19.

It was stated that 2 seats in substitute bench would be placed and also some distance between both bences with disinfection gel would be put in between both benches and in different locations outside of the field. In addition, to that with importance of keep ball disinfected, it would be cleaned several times during game and also before, half-time to make sure that it would be kept in most strong condition during games. In addition their would be in total of 6 ballboys, 4 on sides and 2 behind goal, with ages between 20-30 years old and would be wearing masks and gloves during whole game. Substitutes in addition would be kept with masks and so would be players as long as their are not in the field.

This points without doubt if done correctly and thorougly would lead to minumum spread of this virus in such period of time.

Journalists and players interaction would be kept to minumum

Another very important focus without doubt would be given to the post-game comments. It would also be following Bundesliga example as interviews would be taken next to changing room with long microphone.

Aim here is to keep minumum interactions with journalists and players and make sure it would be done outside as mixed-zone would not be allowed to be used following game. In here, as been noted important role to keep interaction to minumum. With accreditiation of journalists priority would be given to broadcaster, with other journalists would be kept in minumum and would be seated with 1.5 metres between each other as would be expected.

Here as been noted key role would be to keep also health conditions with journalists and players as priority for sure.

In other news:

TFF CEO Nihat Ozdemir had an operation to his shoulder and his current health condition is being stable.

Super League will be resumed on 12th June.

TFF has announced that leagues would be resuming on 12th June as final decision following meeting of its administrative board even through it could be noted that following meeting has been more or less formality, as all of this decisions has been mentioned before hand apart of relegation issue and 5 substitutes per game.

Therefore, TFF as been stating for almost month did announce that leagues would be resuming on 12th June which despite of high amount of criticism from society and this blog, right now seems to be reasonable date as long as things will not get worser following 2 weeks period. It was known that TFF did right decision on the end of the day with also not accepting relegation to be taking place during this season as would be affect quality of the game and possibility of match-fixing. Only worry is that Super League sadly is not being providing high level games for most of the time and this could affect even more in this period of time and might be hard games to be watched as been observed during last week prior to forced break which been played without fans.

Meanwhile, Turkish Cup would be resuming in following week of restart of league with semi-final 2nd leg games to be played on 16 and 18th June.

League would be completed at multiple cities as planned.

TFF among its announcement has also stated that rule of playing away-home games would be continuing as planned and therefore it would not be competed in 1-2 cities which has been among its main stances for resuming leagues.

TFF during its announcement has stated that it didi make deal with Turkish Airlines regarding of transporting players into cities where games would be playing with company aiming to provide all measures to provide health issues to prevent Covid 19 to be spreading towards players during transportation. Hence, TFF did provide quarentee that it sides would be travelling with high level of security and would provide lowest amount of risk to get infected from this virus. Therefore, TFF did also keep its detirmened plan to continue league in such manner without providing too much risk towards whole clubs.

Without doubt, Turkish Airlines would get strong importance with providing such security in health sense to clubs but its organisation which can fulfill such task.

Teams could do 5 substitutes during game.

Another important decision and which TFF did mention before but was expected to be included, is modifacation of rule set by IFAB which allows 5 players to be substituted during 1 game to reduce injuries.

It is important to remind that at the decision of this rule there is section which states that it could only happen only during 3 intervalls so it wont affect continuation of game. This rule to some extend even through has been set with mind to prevent high amount of injuries during games could also provide some additional bonus to coaches to with an aim to change some tactics which could not do beforehand with 3 substitutes. It needs to be noted that Bundesiga did go with that change and to some extend did provide some interesting outcomes due of that.

Time would show how this changes and other would affect for rest of the season and what role it would play in the title race.

All clubs would be given Covid 19 tests with 2 days before games.

TFF has added one but very important clause at its back to normality at football protocol stating since restart of the season, which expects to be on 12th June, all of the clubs would be going through minumum 8 Covid 19 tests with 2 days prior to restart of the season.

As been noted several times by this blog and other clubs especially from head coaches, that it would be important from TFF to provide clear information about how it would be going through providing maximum amount of security and prevention of virus to be spreading around at football community. This decision which is reported to be case also at Bundesliga, would be able to provide high level of security and provide calmness towards players without doubt. Even through it was expected that process would be done in such manner, it was crucial for TFF to make public statement. Meanwhile, if anyone gets positive result he would be taken into quarantine.

This is being very important move without doubt from TFF prior to restart of the season and would provide some calmness to everyone at club with going through such crucial question.

TFF expects to announce restart date of the leagues as 12th June.

It is expected that TFF, as it has been announced itself, would announce on 28th May if leagues would be resumed on 12th June and also likely to provide informative statement how it would be completed such as if it would be played in one or multiple cities and final decision regarding relegation.

It needs to be noted that from previous statement to more or less all of the answer to questions has been provided above been answered. TFF does plan to restart league on 12th June, it would be played at multiple cities and no relegation. Apart of last point, which TFF would make itself, other questions of course needs to be approved by Science Committee which would be having most information about current condition and how it could become in future so thats where it comes. Good conditions with statistics and general process of normalisation process taking place in country does show there would not be problem for 12th June to be starting day, but of course single uncertainty from Science Committee could move starting date.

Until now across Europe we saw some leagues to be planning to restart but local governments has changed those plans, so committee does have this power but right now things look optimistic for restart.

Faty had his 1st training session since recovering from Covid19.

Ankaragucu player Ricardo Faty who has been reported to be infected by Covid19 had his 1st training session since being recovered which is been pleasant news and shows that football in Turkey is getting into normality.

With past week we getting some positive tests results from all clubs without doubt has provided some pleasant news, and return of Faty to training session without doubt is being among them and would made to be in good mood with all clubs would be hoping to train with whole squads prior to restart of the league so everyone would be at best squad. Without doubt if leagues to be resumed on 12th June, whole squads preferable in every club would not need to have Covid19.

Faty is being pleasant news and hopefully we would see more of this kind news during this unprecended times.

Fenerbahce has resumed training session at TFF facilities.

Fenerbahce has resumed training session at TFF facilities due of its own facilities not being entirely ready for prevention of Covid 19 virus as all of its players, technical and staff members has got negative test results on previous day.

Another important aspect for Fenerbahce has been factor that its trainer Mehmet Aurelio, who has been appointed on 25th May, has joined his 1st training session as he would be expected to take temporary role of head coach until end of the season if it resumes on 12th June. Fenerbahce which been among one of the clubs which been affected from Covid 19 is currently will be satisfied that it got all negative results and would be continuing training until 31st May at TFF facilities due of lack of providing entire safety measures which is important during this Covid 19 days.

Hence, it was pleasant to see Fenerbahce resuming training session as it had trouble to do due of some cases within club in recent period of time.

All Sivasspor players and staff members got negative results from Covid 19.

Another present news without doubt has been for one of the title contenders, Sivasspor, not recieving any negative results as side to some extend always showed that outcome and can now continue their training session.

Still, this development is unlikely to change view of its head coach Riza Calimbay regarding continuing leagues since he is more worried about risks of virus to be spreading and being vulnerable during games since its being contact sport. Still he would very likely be satisfied that virus doesnt been existed within club and likely it would have much more tense control of its players with league expected to be restarting on 12th June.

Sivasspor as been noted been among clubs which didnt been much affected from virus and therefore would continue its training session for restart of the season without much worry regarding virus.

Besiktas will go through Covid 19 tests on 27th May

While all of the clubs, following some tense moments regarding Covid 19 tests, are currently getting some pleasant news it would be expected same from Besiktas who would be going through tests on 27th May, hoping that whole club would get negative results.

As would be remembered,it did get some unwanted results few weeks ago where some players, staff members and CEO Ahmet Nur Cebi has got positive outcome but later were reported to be getting recovery from this issue. Still and thankfully their got 2nd test to be all negative and now it would be expected that same results would be coming from test tomorrow which would allow them to continue training session as their do now.

Besiktas are going through routine test but this among most important ones as it done just few weeks before restart of the season.

In other news:

Fenerbahce trainer Mehmet Aurelio has attended his 1st training session with his new club.

Fenerbahce has appointed Mehmet Aurelio as club's trainer.

Fenerbahce has appointed Mehmet Aurelio as club's trainer as one of the legendary players of the club has returned since 2008 after having successful season at the club for 5 years.

Since start of the Covid19 virus spread in Turkey, it needs to be noted that first time our blog has started it without mentioning due of not much development we are experiencing in this issue. Coming back to Mehmet Aurelio, it needs to be noted that he has written place in club during 21st century period and does have some experience prior to joining this club with being assistant coaches and even through their were at lower leagues he still showed some good performances in that level. With possibly Aurelio aiming for head coach role in future, being one of the trainer in one of the strongest clubs in country would get him closer to his ultimate aim. This appointment is also very likely for club to announce its next coach in short period of time.

With Fenerbahce building new technical staff for next season, appointment of Mehmet Aurelio is being 1st stage towards this route and looks to be correct one.

What is behind for double standards regarding health between football and basketball.

With THY Euroleague and Eurocup, basketball equivalents of Champions League and Europa League respectively, 2019-20 season being cancelled due of Covid19 outbreak it does raise once again question: why its safe to play football but not basketball.

It could be argued with condition getting better of Covid 19 in Turkey and also Europe, basketball community is being overprecautious and made this decision but even if this is case it has been in such manner that there is risk to be existent regardless how minumum. What is more crucial same risk is existent with Covid 19 and argument that basketball is being played internal while football outside, does make some sense but even with this case difference of risk is being reduced to minumum still for sure. What is more interesting some clubs which both have football and basketball branches are showing different stance in both sports. Hence do some extend showing double standards. Reason of this is actually simple and been discussed, which is money since football is  providing much more economical gain without doubt.

Therefore differences and decision between two different sports branches is been decided from right now without doubt. Still it needs to be reminded that in Turkey final decision about leagues expected to be given on 28th May.

Numbers during this week could decide if leagues to be resumed or not.

Even through our blog for past few days is taking more optimistic view for restart of the league and it being right decision, it still needs to be noted that we seeing rise of cases right now and being unstable.

With cases dropping during last week and with entering to 4-day Eid Mubarek curfew, which still continues in Turkey, stance of some clubs and this blog did been changed as light in the end of tunnel, again not for solving Covid 19 issues but as opportunity to get into limited normal life been shown, but we seeing rise of cases in past 2 days which could provide sign that it would be contuning in upcoming days. It would be hard, even through it can do so, to announce 12th June as starting day if numbers would be going up on 28th May. It is clear that even government is unsure what would happen as their are announcement regarding curfew to be taking place this weekend or not yet. Once again, if worst scenario case will be rising this week, TFF could have difficult issue with announcing continuation of league on 28th May.

Therefore this week would be crucial for normalisation process in country this week and also possible future of the league for sure.

In other news:

TFF had meeting with clubs doctors to discuss about protocol.

TFF has organised teleconference with Super League clubs doctors to provide detailed guidelines how to prevent spread of Covid19 at the football community following announced back to normality in football protocol during this time.

Even through not much information is provided how meeting had went through, it needs to be noted that it is expected to go through in active manner and has managed to go through all of this issues hence not leaving any questions with club doctors and likely would play an important role to prevent virus to be spreading in this atmosphere. With taking account that all clubs would understand and follow this guideline it could lead for leagues to be resumed in good manner and not having serious issues with all clubs stating that. With TFF is expecting to announce that league would be resumed on 12th June in the 28th May press conference, this has been very important conference.

Therefore, clubs doctors would be aware to keep football community in healthy condition prior to restart and when it would be starting at the maximum level.

Germany is being good example for resuming football season.

Football community, including this page is slowly start taking much more positive view regarding for Super League to be restarted and games to be played without much issues using Bundesliga model.

Among watching Bundesliga way of playing games, its been especially curious how it would be cope with some issues which it might get if things will not go as planned but its need to be stated that so far, with 2 weeks being played right now since restart, we are not seeing much issues which does provide view that it would be safe to restart both in Turkey and rest to world. However, it needs to be remembered that situation would be changing between different countries due how virus would be spreading. But things which been done right in Germany, and their are many so far if their is no issues so far, should be repeated in Turkey such as lack of celebration, different ways to make feel fans are at stadiums and to some extend style of play as we saw some good games when taking circumstances.

Turkey of course needs to take into consideration how things develop in country with situation being getting better right now but needs to be take into consideration if things, hopefully not, would be getting worser.

TFF needs to provide answers to all questions regarding health and santization issues.

Our page still believes that TFF should provide press conference to provide some detailed comments about resuming league with focussing into health issue rather then financial as so far we mainly heard why its important to restart league when coming to financial issue.

Importance in sense of economy of Super League to clubs and also whole country is being important for sure, but during times when everyone says slogan health comes first, it also needs to provide comments according to that so people would be informed what needs to be done if Covid 19 might be hitting hard to clubs when season resumes and what would be done for prevention for it to spread, as some bodies still have some questions and uncertainties about this issue right now for sure. Therefore to calm down those bodies, including this page, it is crucial for TFF to provide answers to all questions which their are regarding health and sanitization section.

This possibly is planned to be done by TFF during 28th May conference where it plans to announce for sure that it would resume league on 12th June, if not before that during meeting.

1 player and personnel from Yeni Malatyaspor has got Covid19 positive result.

As our blog has been taken bit more optimistic view regarding of Covid19 spread in Turkey and also footballing world, it has become reported that 1 player and personnel from Yeni Malatyaspor has become infected from it.

Even through with numbers of new cases dropping for about week and also positive outcomes which likely to come from 4 day curfew during Eid Mubarek, case with Yeni Malatyaspor does provide once again that it could be still be infected so hence its important to keep into careful on this days. Yeni Malatyaspor didnt provide much information about is been infected apart of it being one player and personnel but as we see their are cases which does take place but 2nd tests tend to be negative. We would be hoping same will be case in this 2 cases.

Without doubt and sadly we would be hearing some news about virus infection in football community and will be hoping it would be kept at minumum.

Galatasaray and Basaksehirspor offer to end season at Istanbul.

It is reported that even through TFF does aim to play with away-home fixtures when leagues would be resumed on 12th June, as it is expected to do so 28th May. However, their are reports that Galatasaray and Basaksehirspor provided request for games to be played on Istanbul.

Conversation about risks to get infected from travelling being high, question about playing games in one city with strong quarantine measures is still on table, even through TFF looks to be declining this.

Both Istanbul clubs hence providing an option to play in Istanbul as it would be able to provide highest level of security, it does have 7-8 stadiums and high level hotels which are currently being empty due of pandemic. One of the options is to have draw each week to discuss which games would be played in which stadiums so it would be reducing advantage to one team or another. Galatasaray believes this would also help for league to go through faster calendar to end within 1.5 months.  It is however reported that Trabzonspor are against such offer.

It does look like this option could be taken into consideration if TFF would consider to play games in one city.

Upcoming summer transfer window could help to build future sides for clubs.

It does look like focus into summer transfer window, whenever it would start, has been building up from clubs as discussion to focus into younger potential player who are preferably Turkey in own academy or other clubs would dominate window.

Without doubt clubs would need to focus much more into their own finances as their been into trouble even before Covid 19 but did hit even hard right now. Hence, clubs would be needing to go for revision with their own transfer politics looking for ways to not spend too much money but same not losing strength of side at least alot for next season. Therefore, this summer would not be focussed with getting world-famous name but would be focussed into much more modest young names. If this would be done correctly, for sure it could even help sides to build potential strong sides for future which would only help for their own club and also national team.

This is in fact opportunity to build potential strong side for future but to achieve it needs to be done in strong professional manner from clubs for sure.

Besiktas CEO Ahmet Nur Cebi 2nd test for Covid 19 turned out to be negative.

With generally new cases which are been reporterd in Turkey keeps going down prior to Eid Mubarek holiday, we are also recieving some good news from personalities who has been infected from Covid19 tests are showing recovery including Besiktas CEO Ahmet Nur Cebi.

In fact, this fast recovery from Nur Cebi could be either related for 1st test to be giving wrong result which been observed during this unprecendented times in general or he has been infected for some time and has no fully recovered. Needless, it needs to be noted that he needs to be giving 3rd test to make it for sure and hope for that result also to be negative even through with his health reported to be on good condition it is reported to provide result which would be anticipated. It also known also that right now whole side is being recovered and team is continuing their training session but needless to say clubs would need to stay focussed for continuing preventions.

This is been good news for sure and does provide general good view with spread in virus at football community right now after turbulance last week.

Things getting better but still people need to be careful regarding Covid19.

Without doubt this week spread of virus in Turkey, even through still being far for whole community to go back for entirety normality, for first time since introduction of virus of Turkey provides some positive view for upcoming days both in whole community and in football.

Our blog as would been aware by many followers has for long time criticised TFF stance regarding of its stance towards Covid19 and resuming leagues. It needs to be noted that still it does have some issues and could be argued how it safe to resume leagues on 12th June due of the factor that one mistake could lead to tragic circumstances. Still with numbers we are seeing right now and also upcoming 4-day curfew during period of 23-26th May in whole Turkey could lead for wanted numbers and if things would go as planned next weekend would not be given curfew, even through this page would not criticise this decision (even through many in Turkey could). Still, its important to remember here to whole society and Turkish community that risk of this virus would exist until vaccination, and hence individually and as community everyone needs to be careful.

First time since Covid19 game to Turkey, this page does look into future more brighter but still precautions needs to be continued to be taken so unwanted circumstances will not happen.

Trabzonspor has made principal deal with Balikesirspor player Rahmi Anil Basaran

Balikesirspor CEO Kadir Dagli has announced that Trabzonspor did make provisional transfer deal with its young player Rahmi Anil Basaran for next season.

This transfer news, does provide clearly view how transfers would be done with all of the clubs around Turkey since whole concentration would be given to its academy and in addition to potential young players especially Turkish ones likes Rahmi Anil Basaran. With Turkish clubs which been mentioned before hand at our page are having serious economical issues even before Covid19, it did become even worser due to this virus. Right now all sides aiming to make strong and potential squad with using its finances how much their get without making it even much worser, as did Trabzonspor with this transfer.

Time would show if Rahmi Anil Basaran would be successful in his new club but this how transfer front would be managed during this summer transfer window.
