Akhisarspor wanted Super Cup more than Galatasaray.
Akhisarspor has managed to start season with Super Cup as their managed to beat Galatasaray following penalty kick-outs after Bafetembi Gomis didnt manage to turn last penalty kick into a goal.
It needs to be stated that Akhisarspor didnt also provide a very good game which it was showing against big clubs during last season and did win cup with a help of penalty kickouts which always been seen as a huge lottery. However, looking at the game overall it could be stated that Akhisarspor mentally wanted to win game as it has shown pretty good organised football with Yevhen Seleznyov without doubt taking leadership role during the game with creating chances and Seleznyov scoring an early goal and also hitting into post. However, with Akhisarspor losing domination of the game after 1st half has let them win this title with penalty kicks. In fact, with taking account that both teams are not fully physically ready for new season, the factor that game going into extra time and penalties wasnt good development for both sides especially for Akhisarspor as their would be meeting against Besiktas during openning week of the Super League.
Still, Akhisarspor has shown great concentration and performance during the game which led team to win title and start season with high motivation as team once again would be having initial aim to stay at the league.
Galatasaray players mentally are not ready for new season.
With Galatasaray losing Super Cup game against Akhisarspor, it has provided a view from their performance that their are not entirely ready with especially Bafetembi Gomis losing concentration of the game with also not scoring crucial penalty kick.
With summer talks about Gomis wanting raise of his salary which looks to be true, Gomis concentration to the game especially during 1st games could be hard to be recieved which could not only provide damage to club but also to him. It was visible following pre-season friendly games that
Galatasaray does have some issues at the side even through it has same squad as it did last season. It does look like apart of Muslera and Nagatomo, both playing at World Cup meanwhile, this summer period only provided damage as most players didnt provide top level performance which does worrying image as side would be playing at Champions League this season. It does look like Galatasaray has some serious issues both mentally and physically which could also provide negative effect to the openning game of Super League season against Ankaragucu. It is especially crucial for team to solve an issue with Gomis as it does look like he would be key player for upcoming season.
Galatasaray didnt provide positive view with game against Akhisarspor and needs to do many improvements in next 5 days if it wants to start season at good form.
Its important not to concede goal against Benfica during 1st leg.
Fenerbahce would be starting its 2018-19 season with Champions League 3rd qualifying round crucial game against Benfica as it would be seeking to get good score from 1st leg game.
It needs to be stated that Fenerbahce are showing very good performance at home games and with bringing high number of supporters of back it should be able to show great game at 2nd half but to achieve that it needs to get good score during 1st leg. Even through Fenerbahce head coach Phillip Cocu is expected to provided defensive football squad and formation against Benfica tomorrow, it would be aiming to provide high speed going forward with counter-attacks and generally football which means that even through tactically its defensive formation, an attacking game would play an important role. Fenerbahce as been mentioned has been drawn with probably strongest opponent it can get at this stage and to some extend passing them could lead them to weaker opponent at play-off round which Fenerbahce are aware of that. What is crucial here is to show high concentrated game during game and among at least finding one goal be focussed not to concede goal at game.
Fenerbahce would be playing tough game but it would need to be staying focussed with showing great performance at defence and effective attacks when it get chances.
