Galatasaray has started season with a win despite of not great performance.
Title holders Galatasaray has started new Super League campaign with 3:1 win against league newcomers Ankaragucu with showing an effective game despite of factor that it still didnt get at level of tempo and dominance it has shown during last season.
Following loss to Akhisarspor during Super Cup with relatively poor performance, Galatasaray was coming out to the Ankaragucu with high amount of pressure and also with Fatih Terim strict decision to move some of last season key players into substitute including Bafetembi Gomis. However, it needs to be stated that Galatasaray didnt start game in perfect manner as it has conceded an early goal from pretty simple position and didnt show any possible view at that moment. Despite of that, it managed to respond from conceded goal and has found 2 goals until half hour mark including an own goal from Kone. Despite of starting season in good manner and to some extend putting pressure which was created from Akhisarspor beside them and has get an important motivation. However, as been mentioned Galatasaray still in sense of tempo and controlling game in full control is far away from there but that would be expected to be recieved in upcoming weeks. Still, Galatasaray did manage to control game after conceding goal and did show good start of the season.
Ankaragucu meanwhile despite of losing game with 3:1 scoreline, team has shown some positive aspects and has provided an organisation of the game. Still Ankaragucu needs to improve and get used to the level of this league if it wants to have good season.
Galatasaray has started its campaign of defending its title with good win against Ankaragucu but still it is still far away from its best level performance but it has got an important motivation boost after Akhisarspor.
Besiktas didnt get result which it was seeking for against LASK Linz
Despite of winning game against LASK Linz during Europa League 3rd qualifying round 1st leg game with 1:0 scoreline, number of supporters and whole team in general would feel unsatisfied with such a result as it was expected to end tie at this game.
Even through advantage is currently with Besiktas for certain, it would be travelling to Austria with providing hope and motivation towards Austrian side which would be seeking to create surprising result. It needs to be noted that an early goal which has come from Ryan Babel at 6th minute has provided some self-confidence to Besiktas as their had become playing more calmer game and has allowed also LASK to create some chances as game has been progressing. There was also some notes about condition of the field after game as it wasnt in perfect condition but it was mainly fault of Besiktas stadium workers even through club has stated that those poor condition has been taken due of sickness of grass and it would be recovered during 2 weeks time. Besiktas would have difficult time at the 2nd leg as it had given some confidence to LASK Linz as their did show some good performance at 1st leg and would provide some attacking game very likely during 2nd leg.
Besiktas would now focus to Super League openning game against Super Cup winners Akhisarspor and that game is expected to be also difficult for them for sure.
Basaksehirspor didnt use their chances against Burnley
Basaksehirspor has ended 1st leg of Europa League 3rd qualifying round game against Burnley with goalless draw despite of providing much more attacking game compare to their opponents.
With how Basaksehirspor has been played for most amount of game and also squad it was visible that even through it was focussed also at precautious level, it was also seeking to get a win against Burnley with using its home advantage. In fact, it has created some good attacks which turned into goal rather due of unlucky chances or lacking last touches during game. Without doubt Basaksehirspor head coach Abdullah Avci would be happy with team performance but he is aware that Burnley with taking support of its home fans in England would show much more fighting spirit on the day which would provide some issues to the side at the 2nd leg.
