What happened in Turkish football today? 16/08/2018

Alvaro Negredo has saved Besiktas even through their had shown poor performance in today game.

With last minute goal of Alvaro Negredo goal against LASK Linz, Besiktas has saved its ticket to the play-off round at the Europa League even through Besiktas has provided very poor performance especially with defence play.

This blog has stated that minumum win against LASK Linz at home ground would put the side into hope for the Austrian side and LASK has provided performance in similar manner with an attacking game. With taking account that Enzo Roco has provided two unforgiven mistakes, has led LASK to find two goals which it needed. If it wasnt case for Alvaro Negredo, who meanwhile has been among most criticised players of this squad has become reason why Besiktas would carry on its campaign at getting to the Europa League group stage. Still, Besiktas which was expected to show dominant game has failed to do so and didnt get an upper control and has been pretty far from good game which was stated by Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes. Besiktas needs to study this game a lot to figure out what went wrong in the game where it was accepted to win without much doubt. Meanwhile, Negredo shot was only one on target during whole game.

LASK Linz had used its opportunity to provide great game and fight to eliminate Besiktas as their were in poor performance today. However, Besiktas has been very lucky to score at last minute and has broken all hopes for LASK even through to all fairness their have deserved to get through.

Besiktas has provided surprising poor performance during 2 legs but has still managed to qualify with lucky of Alvaro Negredo. Those poor performance still needs to be studied by technical staff.

Basaksehirspor didnt beat Burnley but showed great fight.

Basaksehirspor has been eliminated from Europa League after losing to English side following additional extra time period during which Burnley player Cork was found only goal at 97th minute.

Basaksehirspor has provided its similar performance against Burnley during the game and did manage to keep game at the middle as game progressed even through it did look like Burnley was creating much more chances. It needs to be stated that both teams doesnt have huge amount of experience at the Europa League and this factor affected them. However, as long as Basaksehirspor didnt found its goal, Burnley was always closer due of stronger support it got from its own fans. It also needs to be stated that Basaksehirspor did create number of the chances as the game progressed which could be referred as close to goal but with having such experienced goalkeeper as Joe Hart did raise some issues for the Basaksehirspor. Taking account that Basaksehirspor has only won one game at the away at European competitions statistically didnt provide good hope but team did show great performance against side which is stronger than them even through it would not be seen as top team.

Burnley meanwhile surely didnt expect tie to be so tough especially its 2nd leg game even through their did show strong respect to the opponent. With only winning with single goal during two ties does show that their had some difficult moment during game and are not much stronger than Basaksehirspor.

Basaksehirspor did show their best performance in those 2 games and could be proud of their fighting spirit against British side. But one thing is certain Basaksehirspor still needs to gain experience at Europe as it is still new area for them.

Trabzonspor needs to improve from last week performance if it wants to win Sivasspor.

Trabzonspor would be starting Super League 2nd week, as it would be meeting with Sivasspor and would be aiming to improve its performance which it has shown during last week game against Basaksehirspor

As been mentioned at our blog during last weekend, Trabzonspor didnt manage to start this season at high note and didnt provide much hope for its supporters with its performance. It needs to be stated that specific poor performance has been given from defenders during game, and it needs to be remembered that it would be playing against motivated team which were among teams that won in starting week, winning Alanyaspor with 1:0 scoreline. However compare to previous game Trabzonspor would be playing with slighter weaker team and also at its home ground and fans would be aiming to push team forward and get a win which without doubt would be crucial for them if their want to show good performance this season as win at least would provide with an important motivation which team without doubt would be needing. Sivasspor with result from last week will be coming out in high motivation and would believe that it can win, so it wont be easy task for Trabzonspor.

Trabzonspor are capable to win Sivasspor but it needs to improve its performance a lot if their want to get result which their seeking for.
