Besiktas has shown two totally different performances during two halves.
Besiktas has managed to start its new season with a win against Super Cup winners Akhisarspor with mainly providing a very attacking game during 1st half which has become deciding factor of whole game.
It needs to be admitted that Besiktas has started game with an attacking focus and aiming to get control of the game which has pushed Akhisarspor to mainly defend during 1st half. With Akhisarspor defence not being able to provide wall for whole 2 halves, Besiktas has found 2 goals back-to-back goals with Pepe and Babel. However, 2:0 scoreline from 1st half has led Besiktas to lose concentration from calm performance and Besiktas has lost its tempo and wasnt able to control game and made many mistakes. Also big mistake from Necip Uysal which led for Akhisarspor player Yevhen Seleznyov to score and bring team back into the game and showing much more brave football compare to 2nd half and Akhisarspor has played much more attacking game with also Manu not scoring. Besiktas needs to study why their didnt provide top level performance during 2nd half especially taking account that it was most ready team as it has played 3 games at the Europa League qualifiers. One of the factors of 2nd half, Necip Uysal wasnt able to carry on confident performance after such mistake which has affected whole team.
Akhisarspor meanwhile didnt manage to provide such an organised performance as their did against Galatasaray last week and has provided mainly defensive game and with Besiktas has reduced tempo their had raised it which led to Seleznyov goal. Still, Akhisarspor needs to improve its performance.
Besiktas has shown great game during 1st half but didnt manage to continue it for 2nd half especially compare how their played in last 3 seasons. Besiktas needs to figure out why their havent managed to keep tempo for whole game.
Trabzonspor 1st game of the season doesnt provide much optimist to its supporters.
Trabzonspor didnt start 2018-19 season in good way as it has lost against Basaksehirspor with 2:0 scoreline as Istanbul side would be competing once again towards league title. Trabzonspor meanwhile didnt manage to show top level performance which would been accepted for them.
Trabzonspor performance against Basaksehirspor during 1st game of the season, it became visible that team are not fully ready for the season as it has trouble to raise high tempo and also had provided some big mistakes at the defence. In fact, Trabzonspor has been lucky only to lose with 2:0 scoreline as Basaksehirspor even through didnt play specific fast tempo has created lots of chances where goalkeeper of Trabzonspor has done some crucial saves or balls has been thrown out. Trabzonspor meanwhile had big trouble at creating high number of the chances and didnt control ball for most of the part allowing Basaksehirspor to control game and not showing an attacking game. This game does show that if Trabzonspor will not drastically improve its level of performance until next week game than it would have another difficult season once again for sure. Surely, this game will not make their fans satisfied.
Basaksehirspor meanwhile seemed to carry on same manner as their ended last season where their were fighting for league title. Even through in sense of tempo it could be argued that Basaksehirspor are not in same level as end of last week, its still managed to win game with highly organised game and calm football.
Trabzonspor has started season in pretty bad performance at very important game for them and has shown that it would have some trouble to show level of performance which put them into title race.
Fenerbahce still has some negative habits which it had last season.
Fenerbahce has won their 1st game of the season for first time during last 2 seasons as it has managed to win Bursaspor with 2:1 scoreline with its own fans showing great support during their 1st official home game since appointment of Ali Koc to club CEO.
Even through Fenerbahce has managed to win game against tough opponent and also controlled game for most amount of time, there was still present some habits which been present during last season which has been criticised a lot. especially at defence. There were still high number of indivudial mistakes which did lead to conceding goal at 17th minute and also providing some chances for Bursaspor to find equaliser. But taking account that it is 1st game of the season and team is still building up this could be understandable and without doubt team did show number of crucial improvements arleady from Phillip Cocu. However, with Benfica game to be played on 14th August at the game where among winning its preferable for them not to concede, Fenerbahce needs to improve and provide an attacking style game without big mistakes at defence. Fenerbahce reaction to 1:0 has been very strong and if their want to succeed against Benfica their need to show much more brave attacking game with providing strong balance with defence.
Fenerbahce did show positive performance during game but as been mentioned its still had some habits from last season with players, but Cocu does show confidence and belief that he would solve those issues.
