What happened in Turkish football today? 17/08/2018
Trabzonspor has shown great transformation from last week performance.
Trabzonspor has shown great reaction to the Super League 2nd week game against Sivasspor with finding all 3 goals during 1st 30 minutes of the game and has shown signs that last week poor performance was due of them being at their best position.
If Trabzonspor during last week performance has been criticised for not being able to fight for league title, than today performance especially during 1st half that it can provide top level performance and can fight for higher spots. With taking account that Sivasspor has won during openning week it would be accepted that team would be highly motivated but Trabzonspor finding an early goals has spoilt their tactics. It needs to be stated that Trabzonspor fans, who are missing some good days from their side, has shown also great supporting performance as game has continued and had shown great togetherness at the game. One of the main heroes of the games has been Olcay Sahan and Hugo Rodallega who among goals has also created chances as the game progressed. Trabzonspor did show great improvement from dissapointing last week and with result and game has recieved great motivation which would push team forward for next week games and help them to set high aims for the season.
Sivasspor has started game with having a very good opportunity and has shown that it would be fighting for a win but fast goals which came from Trabzonspor has affected their motivation and that fighting spirit has been reduced as game progressed. In fact, goal which came at the end of 1st half didnt let them show much more attacking game at 2nd half.
Trabzonspor has shown great transformation from poor performance last week and has gained an important motivation which would aim them to continue nice performance during upcoming games.
Besiktas is only at play-off round of Europa League thanks to last minute goal from Alvaro Negredo.
Besiktas has been especially lucky to get to the Europa League play-off round stage taking account that it has shown pretty poor performance against LASK Linz and until last minute of the game has been on the edge of being eliminated from a tournament.
Surprisingly winning goal has come from Alvaro Negredo from single shot into the target during game, especially taking account that team wants to sell him due of poor performance last season. Whatever would destiny be for Negredo at the end of this summer transfer window, team would need to remember that it is still having chance to get to Europa League is thanks for Negredo. Coming to the game, it needs to be stated that Besiktas has shown very poor performance and didnt manage to control game as it always do and didnt provide much pressure. It needs to be stated that same was case was doing 1st leg where blame has been through to the condition of the field. In fact, taking account also game during Akhisarspor especially 2nd half it could be stated that side didnt start season at good form and does provide some worrying images prior to game against Partizan at play-off round.
Besiktas did provide pretty poor performance against LASK Linz performance and thanks to Negredo it has got into play-off round. Now Besiktas needs to recognise its mistakes their shown for the upcoming games of the season.
Basaksehirspor needs slowly improve its performance in Europe.
Basaksehirspor performance at the European front continues to provide poor compare to Super League as it has been relegated from tournament losing to Burnley after extra time.
It needs to be stated that prior to game it was expected that Burnley was coming out as strong favourite as being Premier League club and having strong support at home ground so taking account that game went into extra-time could be seen as good performance from Abdullah Avci side. Their did show good performance with creating high amount of chances as game progressed but Joe Hart, among most experienced goalkeepers at the Premier League, saves has prevented them to get to the play-off round. Burnley has also provided good amount fo chances and goal from Cork during 97th minute has provided much needed goal which team was seeking for during 2-leg tie. Basaksehirspor still needs to be aware that it is showing poor performance at away games in Europe, with only winning one game during that period and needs to recognise why their getting those results.
Basaksehirspor once again is leaving from European football without showing much memorable performance but as always has learned some lessons but now needs to learn from them and dont repeat them in upcoming seasons.
